Thursday's with Lindsay

Hi All! Good Morning. I'm not feeling my best today so I am going to post and then go back to bed. I've got a nagging kind of headache, not a lot of pain but just there.

I know that Lindsay is introducing a new set today, but I used one of her "oldies" that I've been meaning to play with since I was invited to this design team. I also participated in a couple of challenges along with it.

This is Tree 4 and although I sized this one sort of small to fit the sketch I used, you can still see the sweet little owl perched in the hollow of his beloved apple tree. I used Kraft card stock for the base, the dp is from Recollections: Autumn paperpack. I ran a piece of Mellow Moss through my new embossing folder that I just picked up. I colored the image with Prismacolor markers and then inked the card stock with Creamy Caramel and Chocolate Chip inks. I then matted to another circle that I distressed just a bit by scratching at the edge with my fingernail. Then I added the ribbon - I was delighted to find a grosgrain in my stash that is a near perfect match to the Kraft card stock.

The challenges I played with are Lord Have Mercy Tuesday sketch challenge. I changed it just a little by changing the direction of the of embellishments. Great sketch Mercy!

I also played along with Stamp, Scrap & Doodle Saturdays - this was a recipe challenge for any image, 3 designer papers and 1 ribbon/lace. I used two designer papers and the 3rd is the Cuttlebugged piece. The rest goes without saying... 'cause I already did. Haha!

Anyway, be sure to check out Lindsay's blog for the freebie. And don't forget to visit the rest of the design team - these gals are absolutely amazing! You're sure to have a lot of eye candy and some inspiration. They are linked in my sidebar. Thanks for stopping by, I'm going back to bed.
