Saturday Card Share

Good Morning everyone!  I hope you're enjoying your weekend so far.  Last night I spent the evening chatting with a few of the girls over at the TSG Friday Night Chat forum.  That was a lot of fun.  While I was chatting with them I made a card to participate in a few challenges.
The challenges this is for are:
Friday Sketchers - the sketch
Fussy and Fancy - Christmas in July
Just Magnolia - recipe 3 flowers, 2 papers, 1 ribbon

I like non-traditional colors for Christmas, so this was fun.  I was sad that my image was still too big to see a lot of the detail of the beautiful papers I used.  But I liked the overal effect, so I didn't start over.  Not to mention, when the supplies come from a kit, you don't have much room for do-overs.

This is a swatch of one of the papers - I loved this!  Pinwheel, yet sort of snowflake type flowers.  I wanted to re-create this look and with some thick vellum and a lot of trial and error, I did!

I made my own flowers.  In retrospect, I should have put glitter on them and I still might - but not for these photos.  In this photo you can also see the little white stitching I added for one of the elements in the sketch.

Supplies:
Card Stock:  Bashful Blue, Certainly Celery
Paper:  Unknown (DP), Thick Vellum (SU!)
Copics:  B00, B000, B02, BG01, BG05, E00, E02, E33, E37, E53, E57, G02, G05,
  G99, R00, R02, W-3, YG00, YG03, YG95
Tools:  Snowflake border punch (Martha Stewart), 5/8", 7/8", 1", 1 1/4" & 1 3/8" circle punches, white gel pen
Embellishments:  Sugar-coated brad (Doodlebug) silver brads (Making Memories), ribbon (Offray)

I hope you enjoy my card.  Thanks for stopping by - I hope you have an enjoyable weekend.  I need to get ready for company so I am off and running a bit early.

Hi Melissa, sorry you had issues adding your card to Fussy and Fancy. I figured out the problem and added your card.

What a lovely Christmas card, the image and and pin wheel flowers are gorgeous.

Oh Mel! Love this card, it is so stinkin cute. I love that image and how you coloured it and matched it to those papers. I love traditional colors but you know sometimes folks can just pick the right non-traditional colors and make it scream Christmas. You have mastered this by far. Thanks for filling my day with inspiration and reminding me that I need to get started on Christmas Cards.

How fun that you got some time to chat with friends and craft, Mel -- just what you needed, I bet! Your card is so ADORABLE (and making me feel like I need to get on the ball about Christmas -- LOL!) What a fun idea to make your own vellum flowers to tie in with the paper pattern -- very clever of you! Hugs, Deedee
