Paper Pretties Monday

Good Morning!  Happy Halloween!  I'm looking forward to this evening - Levi is off to his first boy/girl costume party and Hollyanne, Brendan and I are hanging back at home watching scary movies and hoping we get some trick-or-treaters.

This week's challenge over at Paper Pretties is an easy one....

SENTIMENTS

Use a sentiment as your focal point.  Of course, there are some new releases at Paper Pretties, one of them being a great set called Suess Truths.  Here's what I did with it...

Here's the whole set....

Also, ARTish has two new image sets out, too.  Please be sure to drop by the Paper Pretties blog to see these adorable new sets and while you're there, you might as well do a bit of shopping and playing along with us Pretty Girls, we'd love to have you join us.

Delightful Challenges

Good Morning!  It's Thursday and that means another Delightful Challenge.  As I said, I have another Halloween project to share with you.  This week's challenge at Delightful Challenge is a color combo...

Black, Orange, Purple & Green

So here's what I created....

Here's my entire Halloween ensemble - I created a treat bag with cute topper and a luminaria to adorn an entrance way.

First, the treat bag....

I found these cups at the dollar store, so it was pretty simple to add a strip of the Spooktacular Digi paper around the cup to give it some pop and costume.  Add some sweet treats and place in a cello bag.  Then I topped it with an adorable bag topper.

My topper features Sitting Mummy, Spooktacular digi paper and spider webs from the Halloween House set.

Next I created this luminaria.  I did find a tutorial on Splitcoast - I didn't follow it exactly, but I think it turned out really adorable.  These would be great to line a walkway, just add a rock for weight and a flameless tealight.  It's wind proof!

I made my own bat svg and cut them out using SCAL and my Cricut.  So and then adhered with adhesive and pop dots.

This picture is a bit grainy, but it captured the luminaria all lit up pretty well.

I hope you like my project and that it inspires you to create something for your Halloween.  Even if you don't do Halloween, change the paper and adornments and you can create a luminaria to match your decor or to dress your Thanksgiving table.  I'm sure you'll see me do this again for Christmas.

Enjoy your day and be sure to join us at Delightful Challenges.

Tuesday Morning Sketches #117

Hello everyone!  I hope you're all doing well.  I appreciate your visit and hope you'll join us at Tuesday Morning Sketches.  Tiffany Doodles is sponsoring and we have a fun sketch.  It is the last of our month long Think Pink challenge.

My card features a sweet sentiment from Tiffany Doodles....

I kept my card really simple, allowing the textures and patterns to create the card and then topping it off with a sentiment as my focal image.  Touches of some bright, bold pink with a bit of orange and apricot is grounded by white and blue.  I really am pleased with how this card turned out.   I hope you like it, too.

Supplies:
Image: Be Like the Flower (Tiffany Doodles)

Card stock: Neenah Classic Crest
Paper: Just the Girls (Gwendolyn) digi paper (ACOT)
Tools: Cuttlebug, Textile Embossing folder, border punch (Martha Stewart)

Paper Pretties Monday

Good Morning!  Happy Monday - I hope you all had a great weekend.  I did, it was very nice.  There was a bit of a chill in the air and I had the windows and sliding glass door open all weekend, it was fabulous!

I have a really cute Halloween project to share with you.  I saw this video tutorial on You Tube by Dawn and thought it would be perfect with the new Trick or Treat, Smell My Feet image from Paper Pretties.  This week's Paper Pretties digi challenge is color combo....

Black, Purple, Green & Orange

This little treat pouch was so easy to make.  Using an envelope as the base and then decorating it up with some fabulous digi paper, this is a super fun little treat to give to anyone.  And easily adaptable to any treat giving theme.

Image: Trick or Treat Smell My Feet, Sentiment from Mumfred

Sunday Bliss

Happy Sunday afternoon everyone!  I've been busy creating some really cute Halloween projects to share with you this week.  I'm starting it off with an adorable card (in my humble opinion) that I created to play along with sketch challenge and the Pretty Palette challenge at My Time Made Easy.  I have had a super great time playing along this entire month with their challenges.  And this is also the 4th installment to my DT application.

My sister, Theresa, gave me the Fall set that CC Designs released probably 2 years ago or so.  I dusted it off (literally) and had an inky fun time.

Now, it's definitely not as symetrical as the sketch, I decided to go a little quirky since it's a Halloween card.  And the color combo for Pretty Palette is black, orange, purple and green (a popular color combo this week - but hey, it's a week before Halloween).

Supplies:
Card stock:  Neenah Classic Crest, Black
Paper:  Web (DCWV), Halloween (Heidi Grace)
Stamps/Ink:  Fall set (CC Designs), Tuxedo Black (Memento)
Copics:  BV00, BV02, C8, C10, E00, E02, E29, E33, R11, W-0, W-2, W-3, YG06
Tools:  Circle Cutter (CM)
Embellishments:  buttons, Honeydew Baker's Twine (SNSS)

I hope you're enjoying your Sunday and I thank you for taking a part of your day and sharing it with me.

Happy Birthday...

.... to the Paper Prettiest Girl of all!!

Today we are celebrating Heather's birthday, owner of Paper Pretties and of course, we doing it with a blog hop.  The card I created features Max Splasher, but instead of this little guy jumping into pool - he's jumping into a giant cupcake.  Come on... who wouldn't love to just jump right in to a sugary, ooey - gooey, cupcake on their birthday?

The cupcake image is an image from Soft Pencil that worked so well for this fun birthday card.  I kept the colors soft with just a couple of bold touches.

Supplies:
Image: Max Splasher (Paper Pretties), Ratiny's cupcake (Soft Pencil)

Card stock: Neenah Classic Crest, Certainly Celery
Paper:  Springtime (Echo Park)
Copics: B23, BV00, C8, E29, E34, G02, R02, R11, RV000, RV10, Y11, Y15
Tools:  Dot border punch, label punch, 1" circle punch, word window punch
Embellishment:  Baker's Twine - Denim (SNSS), button, Sugar glitter (Martha Stewart)

Thanks for stopping by today, your next stop on this birthday blog hop trail is Nancy's blog.

Delightful Challenges

Hi Everyone!  I hope you're week is going well.  It's Thursday and you know that means another fun challenge at Delightful Challenges.  This week's challenge is....

HALLOWEEN

Of course, there are lots of choices in the Digital Delights store to use to play along with this challenge, although, not required but since the digis are so reasonably priced, why not treat yourself to an image or two and play along.

Here's my card....

I created a window card featuring Sasha the Witch (little cutie), Spooktacular digi paper and Halloween 2 Sentiments.

This inside is Sasha in all her adorable-ness....  Have any of you read Wicked (or seen the play)?  Well, this is how I sort of imagine Elphaba as a little girl.

Operation Write Home Fundraiser

Hello everyone!  I have been given a great opportunity to share with you about a fundraiser that I hope you will all help with.  Everyone in the cardmaking world knows about Operation Write Home, an organization dedicated to helping our troops stay in touch with their families.

* Operation Write Home is a not-for-profit organization that collects and sends handmade greeting cards to American soldiers for their use in keeping touch with their families back home. They need to raise $13,000 to cover holiday shipping costs.

* Among other fundraisers going on at the same time, K 'n K Designs will be selling 7 new digi sets designed exclusively for this cause. These include 4 sets by Katlyn and 3 sets by Deedee. Each "set" includes an image and some greetings, in both Jpeg an PNG file formats, all in a zip file.

* These sets are available for just $2 each, or in various value bundles (e.g. get them all for just $10!), with all proceeds (minus Paypal fees) donated to Operation Write Home.

* The sets can be purchased at the K 'n K blog (NOT their store) from October 17th thru noon November 1st.  All purchases will be emailed out within 24 hours of payment clearance.

* Those who don't craft but would still like to aid the cause can donate directly to OWH. Info on how to do that is at this page: http://operationwritehome.org/donate.html

So here's the card I created to show off one of the adorable sets created by Deedee.

I created this card with the help of some really great challenges, too.  The sketch is from Mojo Monday, the color combo (white, black & bright blue) from My Time Made Easy Pretty Palette and added score lines from The Pink Elephant.  They didn't photograph well, though and the space I created for the ribbon ended up not being quite wide enough for the ribbon.  But I love the results of my card anyway, I think it turned out fun!

Supplies:
Image: Thoughtful Teddies

Card stock: Neenah Classic Crest, Black, Bright Blue
Paper: Echo Park
Copics: BG01, BG05, E30, E34, R02, R11
Ink: London Fog (Memento)
Tools: Cuttlebug, Rectangle Straight Edge Nesties, Rectangle Scallops Nesties, Scallop Circle Nesties, 1 1/4" circle punch, 1 3/8" circle punch, white gel pen
Embellishments: twill ribbon (Offray)

Please head on over to Kaitlyn's blog and help with this effort.  Your support would be greatly appreciated.  Thanks for stopping by!

Delightful Challenges

Hi everyone!  I hope you're all doing well.  I am so happy that we're on the downhill side of this week.  We've had new trainees sitting with us listening to calls to prepare themselves to start taking calls.  It's a bit exhausting.  I laugh because it was a year ago that I was in their position - now I'm considered old news at work.

So it's October and with this season, thoughts are turned to cooler days, blazing colors of golds, reds and browns.  Of course, I don't see or feel any of that here in Florida.  I want Autumn weather!  But thank goodness for the challenge over at Delightful Challenges.  We're playing with...

FALL COLORS

And here's my card....

The image featured on my card is the sweet little dog found in Fall Kids digi stamp set.  The digi paper featured is from the Simply Fall collection.  I created the flowers using a really old flower punch from Stampin' Up! - yay me, I'm actually dusting stuff off and using it!

Supplies:
Image: Fall Kids

Paper: Simply Fall digi papers
Card stock: Neenah Classic Crest, Creamy Caramel, Summer Sun, Chocolate Chip, Garden Green
Copics: E30, E34, E37, E53, G99, R11, Y17, YR16, YR23
Ink: Potter's Clay (Memento), Summer Sun (SU!)
Tools: Circle Cutter (CM), Flower Punch (SU), 5/16" circle punch

I do hope you join us this week - we love seeing your work!  Thank you so much for stopping by and saying hello!

Tuesday Morning Sketches #115

Hello everyone!  I have another pink card to share with you.  This week is the Judged Challenge over at TMS so there's a sketch, an inspiration photo and we're continuing with adding pink.  So here's my card...

One of the easiest things to do when you're just about ready to step out of the shower or as your toweling off, you can do a quick check of your breasts.  You want to run your fingers over your breasts probing gently feel for hard, pea-sized or larger lumps.  Do this one to two times per months - early detection is your first line of defense.

Supplies:
Card stock: Neenah Classic Crest, Chocolate Chip, Pink Pirouette

Paper: Chocolat (SEI)
Copics: BG01, E00, E02, E04, E30, E33, E34, E37, RV000, RV02, RV10
Tools: Scallop Border punch (Fiskars), 1 5/8" & 1 1/4" circle punches
Embellishments: mulberry flower (unk), rhinestone (unk), white satin ribbon (Offray)

I hope to see your continued participation over at TMS.  Thank you for stopping by.

Monday, Monday... so good to me

Good Morning!  I hope you had a fabulous weekend.  I did.  It was pretty much quiet and very low key.  It rained all weekend long so I stayed very low.

I am not certain if I am going about this application process the right way for My Time Made Easy, but I am definitely giving it a go.  Lauren and her team are doing a call for the sketch team and you all know how much I love sketches.  The call requires you to participate with each challenge for the month of October.  So here's my first card using Sketch #29.

This card features the adorable snowmen from The Greeting Farm set Warm Wishes.  It also features some really cute digi paper from My Time Made Easy.

Supplies:
Card stock:  Neenah Classic Crest, Black (Recollections), Bashful Blue
Stamps/Ink:  Warm Wishes (TGF), Tuxedo Black (Memento)
Copics:  B000, G02, B05, BV00, BV02, C8, C10, R11, R27, R29, RV000, RV02, RV10, YR16
Tools:  Border Punch (Martha Stewart), Labels One Nesties (Spellbinders), Cuttlebug
Embellishments:  turquoise ribbon (Offray)

This second card is for Sketch #30 and for the fun of it, I added MTME's Pretty Palette challenge.  The colors are Artichoke, Celery, Melon and Daffodil.  I did as close to those colors as I could.  I think my card is really pretty.

Supplies:
Card stock:  Neenah Classic Crest, Always Artichoke, Regal Rose, So Saffron
Paper:  Sugared (Basic Grey)
Stamps/Ink:  Your Friendship (SNSS), Dandelion (Memento), Always Artichoke (SU!)
Tools:  Cuttlebug, Textile emb folder, Labels Two Nesties (Spellbinders), flower punch (EK Success), leaves punch (The Punch Bunch)
Embellishments:  Rhinestones (Studio 18), satin ribbon (Offray)

I had so much fun playing along with the sketches and the color challenges.  Now to figure out how to apply!  Wish me luck.

Have a super Monday.  Oh, and if you were here to see a challenge card for Paper Pretties, there isn't one this week because today is a new release.  You've probably seen the sneak peeks, but if not... click HERE.

Isn't she just the sweetest little elf!?  I think she's adorable with her rosy little cheeks and festive swing.  This week's challenge at Delightful Challenges is to add DIMENSION...

As you can see, I kept my dimension at a minimum - but of course, the heights you take are completely up to you.  I created this card using a great sketch from I {heart} 2 Stamp.  And pulled out some really old paper, as you can see.

Supplies:
Image: Swinging Edwina

Tuesday Morning Sketches #114

Good Morning!  I hope your week is off to a great start.

It's the beginning of October which is Breast Cancer Awareness month - but the month means more to me than just awareness.  My sister, Theresa, celebrates her birthday on the 6th and we celebrate her 4th year of being cancer free.  So this month at TMS is dedicated to my sister and Breast Cancer Awareness.  Please, ladies, take care of your boobies!

You must use the sketch, add some pink and you can only combine TMS' challenge with a maximum of two other challenges.  Participate each week following those rules and you'll be entered for a blog candy drawing.

Remember, the first step to beating this disease is... A W A R E N E S S

Supplies:
Card stock:  Neenah Classic Crest, Pink Pirouette (SU!)
Stamps/Ink:  Laying Nora Swiss Pixies (CC Designs), Tuxedo Black (Memento)

Embellishments:  white and pink satin ribbon (Offray), brads (Bazzil), mulberry flowers (unk)

I hope you join us this month.  And please be sure to wish Theresa Happy Birthdays!
