Feeling a little buggy....

Good Morning!  I hope you had a great weekend.  Mine was rather quiet since my kids were off visiting family.  I was pretty happy to have them home, it was a bit too quiet.  But I was able to color images and watch movies I wanted to watch without guilt or groaning.  I had a foreign film fest this weekend, an Irish film which was good, a movie from Chile which I shut off after a few minutes and a movie from India which turned out to be very good.

So here's a card that I've been working on for a couple of weeks.  I am still not entirely happy with it, but the image sure is cute.  I am featuring a couple more stamps from the Somebuggy Loves You stamp set that was released this month at Sweet n Sassy Stamps.

I made this for my monthly card traders group, the challenge being the Iris Twist technique.  It was a challenge for me - that's for sure!  But the colors are bright and happy and a very cute face is a center focal point.

Supplies:
Card stock:  Neenah Classic Crest, Whisper White, Green Galore
Paper:  Candy Blossoms (Momenta)
Copics:  B00, B000, RV02, YG00, YG03
Tools:  Paper Piercer
Embellishments:  Green Prima Flowers (Prima), white brads (Bazzil), mini white brads (Queen & Co), Dazzling Diamonds glitter (SU)

Thank you so much for stopping by.  Have a happy Monday!

Tuesday Morning Sketches #78

Good Morning!  It's tuesday, so that means there's a new sketch at Tuesday Morning Sketches so I hope you join us.  So here's my card for this week, this is featuring an image from Stitchy Bear Stamps and digi paper from Panda Bear Designs.

Now, I've decided that the best paper to print digi paper out on is actually SU! Whisper White card stock - the weight is great and because the card stock is coated, the colors sit on top of the card stock so they are so vibrant and pretty.

I hope you join us at Tuesday Morning Sketches this week - it'll be a lot fun.

Sweetheart box

Good Morning!  I hope you all had a great weekend.  I had a pretty relaxing one which was very much needed after the horrific week last week.  I do hope those kind of days at work will be less and less, ugh!  But that's why I posted so little last week, too much stress makes it very difficult to be creative.  However, I printed off the week's digis and packed up my Copics and colored while I waited for Hollyanne who had dance class on Friday nights.  Have the images ready to go made it so easy to put my cards together yesterday.

Well, I don't have a card today - I made a treat box featuring a new digi image from Sweet n Sassy....

I used a box from Lindsay's Stamp Stuff - I added the oval cut out to the box before I cut it.  It is an svg file, so with SCAL and Cricut - this box was ready in minutes!  Added some conversation hearts, a ribbon and cute image and viola! instant gift.

Now this little cutie is Melanie Mouse, she's available in the normal b/w digi format and well as one of the new colored digis.  She was so much fun to color and the twinkle in her eyes will make anyone smile.

Supplies:
Card stock:  Neenah Classic Crest
Paper:  Sweet Romance (Deja' Views)
Copics:  E30, E34, E37, R27, R29, RV02, RV10
Tools:  svg Gable Box (LSS), SCAL, Cricut, Scor-Tape, cello bag

I am entering this into this week's JUGs template challenge.  Hope you like it!!  Thanks so much for stopping by.

Good Morning everyone!  Happy Sunday to you.  Sweet n Sassy Stamps is sponsoring CPS Sketches this week and it is a great sketch!  I played along and here's my card, featuring the newly released stamp set Cocoa's Latte....

You all know that one of my absolute favorite characters is SNSS' mascot, Cocoa.  I really love this set, it has the adorable cocoa and 5 wonderful sentiments.  One thing I don't do a lot is use Kraft card stock, which is a shame because it looks so great - I must change that habit of mine and use it more often.  I did a lot of paper piecing in this card and I really love the results.

Card stock:  Neenah Classic Crest, Kraft
Paper:  Linen Closet mat stack (DCWV)
Copics:  E34, E37, RV02, RV10

Turtle's Heart Balloons

I made this card for a couple of challenges and I really love how striking the image is against the all white base.  The first one is Sketch and Stash Challenge (sketch) - my stash that I used was to pull out some much neglected embossing folders and the other challenge is from Digital Tuesday which is all white/one colored image.

Black Magic

Good Morning everyone!  Have you ever heard of that technique?  Well, neither have I until recently when it became the first challenge of the year from my monthly card traders group.  I think it could be very striking when not done on this small of a scale, unfortunately, I no longer have 2-step stamps or large bold image stamps - I mean I have very very few.

So the idea is to stamp your image with white craft ink, heat set it and then color the image with watercolor pencils.  I don't have watercolor pencils anymore, so I used my prismacolor pencils and did use a bit of gamsol to soften the coloring.  As I said, I think it could be very striking on a larger scale.

I used a great sketch from Truly Scrumptious and also played along with JUGS this week by creating an envelope to match.  And it's lined!

Supplies:
Card stock:  Black (Recollections), Certainly Celery
Paper:  Purple (Recollections)
Stamps/Ink:  Big Flowers (SU), Craft White
Pencils:  Prismacolor Violet, Lime
Tools:  Scor-Pal, Cuttlebug, Textile embossing folder, white gel pen
Embellishments:  white satin ribbon

Thank you for stopping by!

Sweets for a Sweet...

Good Morning!  I hope your week is going well for you.  I have such a sweet gift idea to share with you.  Now I know that nugget boxes are not new to anyone, but this one is new to me.  I found a great tutorial here on YouTube.  This gal is so much fun to watch!

So here's my version of the nugget box that is on Tresa Black's video....

So here's the box and I am featuring a new set that was just released in the Sweet n Sassy Stamps store. It's called Somebuggy Loves You and it's absolutely adorable!  So the box is basically a very long matchbox.  Pull out the center and it reveals another message....

The box is designed for 7 nuggets - so you can customize this for any 7 letter message.  I thought this would be cute for kids since they seem to talk in a text message language all the time.

Supplies:
Card stock:  Neenah Classic Crest, Chocolate Chip
Paper:  Chocolat (SEI)
Stamps/Ink:  Somebuggy Loves You (SNSS), Alpha set (Hero Arts), Rich Cocoa (Memento)
Copics:  E34, E37, RV02, RV10
Tools:  Circle cutter (CM), Scallop circle nesties
Embellishments:  Pink satin ribbon (Offray)

Now, in case you haven't heard about the fabulous sale going on at SNSS, you can pick a free stamp set of your choice (in the specific collection shown) with a $25 purchase!  Also, Korin has introduced colored digis!!  How cool is this!?  Talk about an easy solution when you're short on time - these are great for that quick card.  Be sure to head on over to store to see the January release and the new colored digis.

Thank you for stopping by.

A gift for a friend...

Good Morning!  I hope you're week is off to a great start.  Mine is rather busy - I'm working overtime this week, well, perhaps this whole month and it's really throwing me off my game.  For the first time in TMS history, I didn't make my card!  And I love my sketch, too.  Oh well, maybe later.

But I didn't miss the opportunity to create something to share with you for Deedee's Digis!  I received a gift in a secret sister swap sometime ago that is this altered file folder made into a desk set of sorts.  It holds a note pad, a pen and some sticky notes.  I thought this was such a fabulous idea that I wanted to do it, too.  Here's what I did with it....

So here's the front of the folder.  I found these great file folders on clearance at Office Max.  I printed a sentiment from Deedee's Digis set Words of Encouragement.  The metal label holder I found at Michaels or perhaps JoAnn's - I stamped out the word "ideas."

Here's a close up of the sentiment... I just love this quote.

Now, when you open up the folder here's what's inside.  I created this for a scrapbooker friend of mine.  The notepad is for journaling thoughts or idea for pages.  Then with another file, I cut it down, added another hand-stamped label and prongs - it flips up to reveal some page layout sketches for her to use as inspiration.  I didn't take a picture of the those - but you get the idea.

Supplies:
Card stock:  Neenah Classic Crest, Rust (Recollections)
File Folders:  Office Max
Stamps/Ink:  Alpha set (Hero Arts), Tuxedo Black (Memento)
Tools:  Cuttlebug, Labels 2 Nesties
Embellishments:  Metal Label Holders (Making Memories)

I hope you try out these altered file folders, let me know if you do - I'd love to see them.  Be sure to visit Deedee's Digis, too, she has many new releases just for Valentine's Day and beyond!  Thank you so much for stopping by.  Have a great day!

I have the two patterned papers which are digi papers, my 3 embellishments are the lace trim, the embossing and the white dots on the label piece.  I think I also hit the lots of color, too, with those stripes!  I did use a great sketch from CLP {Crafting Life's Pieces} Challenge Blog to create the card and I am pleased with the results.  The base is actually Night of Navy, but the picture makes it look black.  My lighting didn't want to work for me last night.

Supplies:
Card stock:  Neenah Classic Crest, Whisper White, Night of Navy
