Tuesday Morning Sketches #87

Good Morning!  It's Tuesday so it's time for a new sketch over at Tuesday Morning Sketches and we have a favorite returning sponsor - Doodle Pantry.   I just love Laurie's images, they just warm my heart.  Laurie was sweet enough to send us some images to play with, too.  I chose Watermelon Lunch which included regular digis, colored digis, digi paper and sentiments.

I did use the colored digi and digi paper and a sweet sentiment....

I love all the white space on my card - I think it really lends to freshness of this card.  It feels like summer to me.  Here's a close-up of the colored image.  Man I wish I could color like this!

Card stock:  Whisper White
Tools:  Labels One Nesties (Spellbinder), Cuttlebug, Scor-Pal
Embellishments:  Buttons (my stash)

Hope to see you over at TMS.  Have a great Tuesday!

Happy Monday Challenge...

Hello everyone!  It's the beginning of another week and what better way to start the week off than a Happy Monday - Happy Monday Challenge that is.  This week's challenge is Kids Need Love, Too.  Every month, Deedee challenges us to create a friendship card and actually mail it to that friend.  This week we're challenged to create a kid's card and mail it to a child.

So here's my card, featuring Smooth Sailing....

Choosing primary colors made this a kid's card for me.  What do you think?  I did use a great sketch by Lisa Sommerville on her blog Splendiferous Creations.

Card stock: Neenah Classic Crest, Bashful Blue, Brocade Blue, Barely Banana
Copics: B00, B000, B02, B05, R27, R29, Y06
Tools: Circle cutter (CM), Corner Rounder (CM), Cuttlebug, D'Vine Swirls emb folder

Embellishments: Rhinestone squares (unk), blue satin ribbon (Offray)

I hope you join us this week over at Happy Monday.  You'll have a great time and you'll make a child smile.

Lovin' Spring

Good Morning! How is everyone doing?  We're on the downhill side of the week, something my kids are having a love/hate relationship with.  They're getting bored with not having a ton to do and are without their routine but they're not really looking forward to going to school either.  But it's rather funny to me that here it is, only March and my children are able to swim in an outdoor pool!

Well I was finally able to play with an image that Korin released weeks ago.  This is Gardening Cookie and she's been busy re-potting some plants.

Isn't she just darling!  I also love the layout of this card, the sketch is from Sweet Sunday Sketch and it was perfect to show off some of the yummy papers, too.

Card stock:  Neenah Classic Crest, Chocolate Chip, Kraft
Paper:  Garden Party Matstack (DCWV)
Copics:  C8, E30, E33, E34, E29, E57, G00, G02, R11, R27, R29, RV000, RV10, W-3, Y11, YG63, YG67, YR16
Embellishments:  button (my stash), linen thread (SU!)

I do hope you enjoy my card I made to share with you today.  Also, the digi sale is still in full swing over at the Sweet n Sassy Store but you better hurry, the 30% off sale ends March 31st.

Tuesday Morning Sketches #86

Good Morning!  I have been so excited to share this challenge with you.  When I was deciding on what this challenge would be I was perusing the pages of Guylou's Inimitability images and what really caught my eye are her wonderful images of children.  Now keep in mind, when I sit at my computer, I am usually in my room or I've brought the laptop out into the living room so I can hang out with my kids.  My children are my inspiration, so our challenge this week is.... K.I.D.S   What does that mean?  It means Keep It Delightfully Simple with a kid theme.  Here's my card...

Now I drew on some inspiration from another great challenge blog - the sketch is from Clearly I Stamp which made it so easy to create a simple card.

Card stock: Neenah, Yo-Yo Yellow, Gable Green

Stamps/Ink: Sentiment from One of a Kind (SNSS), Tuxedo Black (Memento)
Copics: C8, C10, E04, E30, E33, E34, E37, YG00, YG03
Tools: Cuttlebug, Floral Fantasy emb folder, Oval cutters (CM), Word Window Punch
Embellishments: ribbon (Offray), flower brads (unk)

I really hope you join us this week.  It will be fun!

Lovely Silhouettes

Good Morning Everyone!  I hope your week is going well, now that its on the downhill side to the weekend, it has to be good.

I was asked by a friend to make a Sympathy card, these are not the easiest cards for me to make when making them for people I'm unfamiliar with.  This type card is so personal.  So I had to set out to find what would be fitting, my eyes fell on one of my favorite sets from Sweet n Sassy.  I love Serene Silhouettes and it was the perfect choice for this card.  What do you think?....

I did use a great sketch from Card Patterns for the layout.  I created the background using baby wipes, re-inkers and glossy card stock.  I like the simple layout, it's very versatile.  The embossing and flowers added feminity and softness.

Card stock:  Glossy White, Sahara Sand, Night of Navy, Brocade Blue (SU!)
Stamps/Ink:  Serene Silhouettes (SNSS), Mini Messages (PTI), Tuxedo Black (Memento), Bashful Blue,
   Lavendar Lace, Certainly Celery
Tools:  Circle cutter (CM), Cuttlebug, Textile Embossing folder, Word Window punch, baby wipes
Embellishments:  Flowers (Prima), Pearls (Recollections)

Have you heard about Sweet n Sassy's digi sale?  Well, you can't beat this one.... now is the time to go shopping!!

We'll see you in the virtual shopping line!  LOL  Have a wonderful day!!

My StampFairy Friday card is featuring a new StampFairy character that was released this week.  This is Patsy and I had the honor of being able to name her.  I think she's so adorable.

This is actually Toothfairy Patsy, but you can also see the other Patsy images that was released here.  It is also with sadness that I announce that today is my last day to post for StampFairy, my term on the design team has come to an end.  I have enjoyed every minute of being a teamie and I thank Gerda and Jackie for giving me the opportunity to have been a part of the original design team for StampFairy.

I did use a great sketch from Our Creative Corner for the layout of my card and also part of their challenge was distressing.  Not a technique I use too often, but it's so much fun.  No where else can you wad up paper, smooth it out a bit and call it art!  LOL
