Sunday Card Share

Good Morning!  I hope you're having a great weekend so far.  I am at work right now, so I hope this auto-posted OK.

About a week or two ago someone in my monthly card traders group had mentioned a ladder card.  The written directions didn't make sense to me, I am a very visual person, so I didn't put a whole lot of thought into it.  Well, then the moderator of the group posted that Dawn of Dawn's Stamping Thoughts made a video.  So, of course, I checked it out.  You can see the video here.

Friday night I decided to try the card.  Here's what I did...

Pretty cute, eh?  I think so.  I did do some modifications from Dawn's instructions.  The center panel, according to Dawn is supposed to measure (largest piece) 3 1/2 x 3 3/4.  That is the exact space between the two side panels.  I found that to be a bit too snug, so I went with 1/8" inch smaller.  It gave a nice border and a bit more freedom to move.  She decorated the side panels only using pieces that measured 3/4" x 4" - I wanted the whole front covered in the pretty decorative paper I chose to use, so I cut my paper down to 4" x 5 1/4" and then drew on the back a cut out piece for the center - it was a little extra work but I think well worth it.

I am entering this card in the All That Scraps Wednesday Challenge which is a color combo of pink and brown.  One of my favorite color combos!

Supplies:
Card Stock:  Very Vanilla
Paper:  Basic Grey Sugared Collection
Stamps:  ATS Spring Pixie Kit
Copics:  B000, B02, E53, E57, RV000, RV02, RV10, RV13, Y15, YG03
Embellishments:  stitched pink grosgrain ribbon

I am really pleased with how well this card turned out.  One thing I'd do differently next time is use a meatier base card stock - I think it would stand up better.  Thanks for stopping by!  I hope your Sunday is a blessed one.
