Bee Crafty #35 - It's all about the Image

Good Morning!  Happy Saturday to you.  My post is going to be a quick post because I am actually getting a day to myself.  I don't want that to sound like I am trying to get rid of my kids or anything - it's not that at all, just sometimes we Moms need a little break once in awhile.  So I'm off to see what sort of crafty stores are around - not that I get to buy anything, I still haven't found a job, but just to go window shopping.

So, it's time for another challenge over at Bee Crafty and this is a fun one.  It's called All About the Image - which means do something really different with your digi stamps!  Paper piecing, coloring them digitally, you name it!  Unfortunately, my creative juices only come to me as a trickle every now and then lately, so I fell back on paper piecing.  But I really love paper piecing with digis because I can move the paper how I want it to appear in the final project.  What do you think?.....

I used Whimsical Girl and kept her a bit large.  I wasn't really sure what I was going to do with my card so I started with coloring and piecing first.  I remembered that Fussy & Fancy Friday challenge had a color challenge for pink and black, so that put me in the color direction.  Then I went over to SCS to find a card I could do to bring this all together.

I created a gatefold card which was so easy on the Scor-Pal. Awhile back, I made a trade; one of my Xyron machines for a Scor-Pal. I was so excited! And then last night while on SCS I found out that there are special markings on the Scor-Pal that is just for gatefolds. LOL What fun. I think now I'll be making them a bit more often.

Here's a better view of the image itself.  If you look at the pictures above you'll see that the paper design is very vertical - nothing random.  So, I printed the image on plain paper first.  Then I cut scraps of the designer paper and using a light behind it and lots of temporary adhesive, I positioned the dp over the plain image the way I wanted the dp to look in the finished image. So I achieved getting the daisies to line the bottom of her dress and hat.  It's really easy.  If you haven't seen my tutorial on digi paper piecing, click here.  It needs to be updated as I am improved my methods, but you get the general idea.
