Tuesday Morning Sketches #590

Hey there!  Thank you so much for stopping by.  The latest re-visited sketch is up at Tuesday Morning Sketches.  This week was Margreet's pick and I have to say, this one is pretty fun to play with.  It was originally posted on 4/20 and I made a pocket card.

This go around, I decided just to use the elements.  I also used one of my favorite kits from Simon Says Stamp.

These little bees are SOOOO adorable.  The paper is from HoneyBee Stamps.  I used a honeycomb embossing folder that I got from JoAnn's some time ago.

This was a really easy card to put together.  The hardest part was fussy cutting the elements.  Sometimes fussy cutting can be so therapeutic.

I hope to see you over at the TMS blog joining in the fun.  Be sure to leave some love for the team.

Tuesday Morning Sketches #589

Hello! Thank you for stopping by.  I do appreciate your visit.  The re-visited sketch is up at Tuesday Morning Sketches and this week's pick is by Debbi, she chose Andrea's tall and skinny card sketch.

I'm still not a big fan of this style card, but I have to say that this one came together so easily so maybe I'm finally grasping the concept.  I made two cards with this sketch.  Both cards feature items of the Simon Says Stamp January kit.  The stamp set is called Snowflake Season.  For this first card I also used card stock that came in the kit.  Let me tell you, I am not a fan of this shade of pink, I don't do very well with brights but when I finished this card, I was a little impressed with myself.

I did a pretty decent job!  First I did some tone on tone stamping with the snowflakes from the stamp set.  I then added a panel of the decorative paper that came in the kit.  I then used another panel of the same card stock as the base that I embossed with the snowflakes embossing folder that came in the kit.  This is a thicker profile embossing folder.  In order for it go through my Big Shot, I had to take down to just the base plate (removing both tabs) and just one cutting pad.  You can't tell in these photos, but I did add some shimmer to the die cut snowflake using my Nuvo Aqua Shimmer pen.

The second card I made is a standard A2 size card.  This time I used some purple card stock that I have in my stash and a different piece of patterned pattern that was also included in the kit.

I love how these cards turned out and I know you may be thinking pink and purple snowflakes.  Well I guess pink and purple is as real as snowflakes in Florida!

I do hope to see you over at the TMS blog.  Come on by, leave some love for the team and join in on the fun.  See you there!

Tuesday Morning Sketches #588

Hello!  Thank you so much for stopping by, I appreciate your visit.  The next revisited sketch is up at Tuesday Morning Sketches and this week's pick is by Debbie.  I love this sketch!

I made two cards with this sketch, this first one features the Magical Characters II set from Queen & Co.  I love shaker cards but they aren't great for mailing - you all know how I feel about single postage stamp cards.  But I am a Disney girl at heart....

Everything on this card is from the bundle except the little Mickey's in the corner.  These I made from little circle punches and black card stock.  Once I glued them down I covered them using Glossy Accents to make them resemble enamel embellishments.

This next card features a stamp set from Simon Says Stamp and a gorgeous embossing folder from Joann's.  I am obsessed with white flowers lately.  This could easily be a wedding card but I do  love the sentiment I used, too.

Talk about simple coloring!  This took no time at all to make 3 cards.  I finished them off with some Nuvo Crystal Drops - Silver Lining in the corner.

I hope to see you over at the TMS blog to join this week's challenge.  Please come by and leave some love for the team.

Tuesday Morning Sketches #587

Hello!  Thank you for stopping by my blog today!  I do appreciate your visit.  The first revisited sketch is up at the TMS blog and it's a great one by Debbie that was originally published on 9/1/2020 (TMS #570).  I like this sketch because it's a great base for big, bold focal points.

My card features dies from a small die of the month kit from Spellbinders - I believe June or July 2018.  The paper is the last of what I got from a Simon Says Stamp monthly kit and the little sentiments are also from Simon Says Stamp.

I made 4 of these cards.  This first one is a birthday card to a dear friend of mine.

The other 3 have this sentiment.  I love the versatility of cards - particularly these types of cards.  They can convey any message you wish to send.

In this picture you can at least see the shine of the gold foil cardstock I used.

So I'm thinking about getting the We R Memory Keepers Snapbox.  It's a portable, foldable photo box.  I think that would help me improve the look of my pictures.  What are your thoughts on this tool?

I hope to see you over at the TMS blog, come join the fun and be sure to leave some love for the design team members.  We're refreshed and ready for the coming year of sketches!
