Tuesday Morning Sketches #681

Hello!  Thank you for stopping by.  The latest sketch is up at Tuesday Morning Sketches and this sketch is by Patti.  I loved this sketch, I purposely scheduled it the way I did so I can feature it for a Christmas card.  Of course, you don't have to make it a Christmas card, if you don't want to.

Patti's sketch has an added challenge to add a bird.  Well that set this Winter Birdhouse from Spellbinders into mind.  I love this house!  My card also features the Oct'22 Embossing Folder of the Month called Scattered Christmas.  I embossed a panel of Phone Booth (Spellbinders) card stock and then used Picket Fence Distress Ink over the top.  I added strips of leftover paper from last week's card.  The bird is from a separate die set.  The sentiment is from the Stamp/Dies Set Oct'22.  In hindsight, I shouldn't have cut the opening in the birdhouse so that the bird stands out from the red panel, but I have 7 more of these cards to make.  I won't make that mistake!

Tuesday Morning Sketches #680

Hello!  Thank you for stopping by.  I appreciate your visit, it's always nice to see you.  The latest sketch is up at Tuesday Morning Sketches and I love this one!

I am busy designing my Christmas cards.  I usually send 3 to 4 different designs out.  I have my "special" category which will be featured later - these are my super intensive cards that I usually reserve for my family.  These are my "general" cards - meant for others, these include my card traders group and friends and extended family.  None the less special, just a little easier to mass produce.

This card features the Small DOM and the Stamp/Die of the Month Oct '22 from Spellbinders.  I wasn't sure this set would come in time for this challenge, but I am so glad it did!  I picked up a nice Christmas paper pad from Hobby Lobby since it was on sale.  I then stamped the image, colored it (quite sloppily, I might add) and then stamped it again so I could do the gold heat embossing without ruining the embossing with the Copic coloring.  This was so easy to do with my MISTI.  I die cut the sentiment from gold mirror card stock and stuck it to the layering piece.

I think this card turned out quite lovely!  I hope you like it, too!

Tuesday Morning Sketches #679

Hello!  Thank you for stopping by.  I do appreciate your visit.  The latest sketch is up at Tuesday Morning Sketches and it's a nice and an easy one.

My cards - I made four! features Go For It from Pink Fresh.  I treated myself to a birthday gift a couple of months ago to this set and am just now getting around to using it.  I got the stamps, dies, hot foil plate, stencils and dies.  I am only using the hot foil plate and stencils.

I made 4 cards - I figured the Glimmer machine was hot, might as well use it.  I did 2 pink, an orange and blue card.  Two of them I used matte gold foil and the other 2 is shiny gold foil.  It's impossible to photograph foil, so you have to trust me, IRL these are so pretty!

I did use the Intertwined Lattice embossing folder, which is Spellbinders Aug 22 folder of the month.  I smeared ink on the folder and then ran it through my Big Shot.  This is the debossed side.  The sentiment is from the August Glimmer Kit of the Month from Spellbinders.

The two pink cards I used the light tone one card and the mid tone on the other card.  I used 3 ink colors on each of these cards and 2 for the leaves.  All the inks are from Altenew.  Layering stencils are my new favorite way to color images.  These make you look like you really know what you're doing!

In hindsight, I think I'll use watercolor paper for this background technique so that the ink smooths out.  When you wipe dye ink on plastic, it just pools and splotches.  Still, I am very happy with how they turned out.

Tuesday Morning Sketches #678

Hello!  Thanks for stopping by.  The latest sketch is up on the Tuesday Morning Sketches blog.  This one is by Patti and it's a party on a card!

My card features more of the August 2022 card kit of the month from Spellbinders. I see a lot of videos on YouTube for 10 cards.  I'm slow on the 10 cards.  LOL

I like that the ephemera included larger pieces that make a super quick card.  I used the frame die that came in the kit to cut out the pink frame twice and layered that together.  Then added the stars.  It's a simple card.
