Cuckoo for SVG Cuts

Hi All! Yesterday I told all about my new software toy. I am totally lovin' my Mom's Cricut and SCAL. I can't stop using it!!

Well, when I started this little adventure I had found a site call SVG Cuts - great site. There are so many tutorials on there, including how to get set up. I love the way Leo explains everything, in a soft, slow tone so that even I can understand what he's saying. They also offer lots of free SVG downloads and a wonderful gallery for inspiration.

So here's the first card I made. I'm afraid I can't photograph Eggplant Envy very well and it's still do windy and the sky is patchy to take a picture outside.

My sister surprised me with a little package from There She Goes stamps in my mailbox the other day. I have admired this set called Bloom for months now and she had Jessica send it to me. The SVG cut is the Eggplant layer - it cut these flowers and the rectangle. So then you just adhere to a card base and fold up the petals. Cool!! I then stamped one of flowers on white card stock and colored using a blender pen and SU! inks. Such an easy card with beautiful results.

This card I created on my own in SCAL. I told you yesterday about a TrueTypes font file that I picked up. I used that to create this loose scallop card. Then after I cut the card, I resized one of the shapes so that it layered perfectly onto the base.

I recently won the newest release from There She Goes stamps, so the watering can image was perfect my card. I created this card for two challenges, too. First, There She Goes said to create a shaped card. Check! Then, new challenge blog Fussy and Fancy said to make it "new." New whatever - so I used my brand new stamps from TSG. And I made it pink & black. Check!I embellished with buttons from American Crafts and pink/black gingham ribbon from Wal-Mart. The sentiment came from the same TSG set.

Thanks for stopping by. I do so enjoy our visits.
