Good Morning! The sketch is up at TMS and I am so glad we're revisiting this sketch. Patti picked one of her sketches for us to play with. Our sponsor this week is A Day for Daisies but I didn't use one their images this time. My printer is acting weird. It's printing like it's almost out of ink but the ink levels aren't low.
So I am playing with technique and a stamp set I treated myself to months ago but just haven't used it yet. The stamp set is by Hero Arts. The technique is an oldie but a goodie - emboss resist. I'm still working on perfecting my ink blending skills, but overall the card is pretty and I think is a great notecard that will only need a single stamp to mail.
I stamped the branch and sentiment with Versa-Mark and then heat embossed with clear embossing powder. Then I used a round ink blending tool to apply 4 colors of Distress Ink. I used a couple of those same colors to stamp the flowers. This is where I changed the sketch a little - the sketch shows the 3 elements as being smaller - I went with them covering that vertical panel. Overall, the card was easy to do, done in about 15 minutes and like I said, will only take one postage stamp to mail.
Please head on over to the TMS blog and see all the inspiration the team is sharing with you - they are fantastic. If I'm not mistaken, looks like Wanda has a different fold on her card.

7 Encouraging Thoughts:
Absolutely beautiful! I adore the colors and positioning the flowers over ribbon was a clever idea.
Such a beautiful card, love the white sentiment and the colours and pretty flowers.

Wonderful card and technique. Very pretty way to alter the way the sketch is used.
Your card is beautiful Melissa! I really need to try this technique. I like the color combo you used a lot.
The soft colors here are so pretty, and the flowers look great too! Good luck with your printer - those issues are always so frustrating!
This is really pretty Melissa I love that technique and I think you pulled it off beautifully. I went through the printer issues just around Thanksgiving and I know how that can drive you crazy, I just ended up buying a new one.
Beautiful card! I love the embossed resist technique!!
