Hello! Thank you for stopping by. I'm sorry I missed you last week - I just really needed to keep a low profile. I had a bad attitude (to put it mildly) but I'm better now.
This week's sketch is up at Tuesday Morning Sketches and it's our first new one of 2017. I love this sketch and just remember - a heart is just a shape. Swap it out if your card needs a different shape. Our sponsor this week is Pink & Main and my card features Hugs Needed stamps and Hugs die. I also took inspiration from Jennifer McGuire. You can find her technique here.
So if you know me, you know I don't care for Valentine's Day. Never have, even when I had a sweetheart. I believe if you love someone, you should tell them everyday. But "hugs" my sign off to everything (almost everything) so this card is totally me. The "& kisses" part - well why not. I'll send this card to one my sisters or my daughter.
This is a window card with tulle... when my mom had her wedding flower shop when I was a kid, we used to have to make this filler pieces for the bouquets from tulle. We, my sister and I, used to call them frou-frou (pronounced frew like threw but with an f) which became our technical term for it. It wasn't until I was quite grown up that I learned it actually had a name, tulle. Anyway, there is tulle between my decorative panel and my card base. The sentiment is glued to the front and the shadow piece is glued on the inside of the card. You can't tell in this picture, but I did use my Wink of Stella clear on the hugs to give some sparkle.
Please join us over at Tuesday Morning Sketches. Be sure to leave some love for my team.
