Tuesday Morning Sketches #436

Hello! Thank you for stopping by!  I'm a little late with my post this morning.  I went out last night with son and setting up my post completely slipped my mind!  I guess I still had vacation on the brain.  LOL

Anyway.... this week's revisited sketch is up and it's Debbie's pick.  I'm glad she picked this one, it's one of favorites, too.  My card features papers from DCWV, stamps and dies from MFT Stamps.

You can't really tell in the photo that the brown of the butterfly and the sentiment is embossed with brown embossing powder.  Whoever said embossing powder goes bad is only partially correct.  This embossing powder is probably 20 years old.  I am totally not kidding!  It was probably one of the first I ever purchased when I was first introduced to Stampin' Up! - and I probably bought it to pair with the Button Bear stamp set I purchased which was the first stamp set I ever bought from SU!.  How's that for a blast from the past.  It actually embossed really well, but it didn't stick in places.

Anyway, still love how the card turned out.  Please come join us!  Don't forget to visit the design team blogs - they work hard for you every week.

Pretty papers and colors for that wonderful butterfly! My first SU! set was "Sketch it" and I still own it! LOL

Oh, I so like everything about this card. The papers are just lovely, and that stylized butterfly is captivating. To keep your embossing powder from "going bad," place one of those little silicon packets that often come in our shoes/purses in with the powder. The silicon pulls out the moisture which is what makes the powder go bad. I don't do it with every color (not worth it for some), but I poured the most often used (white, black, clear) powders into a larger container and placed one of the packets in with the powder. It really works.

This is so pretty! I noticed the last coupe of times I used my clear embossing powder on blk ink it didn't want to cover well......maybe it's old?! Will have to give Jenee trick a try when I get some new!
