Hello! Thank you so much for stopping by. I appreciate your visit. The latest sketch is up at Tuesday Morning Sketches and it's a really simple one. It's a great one for CAS cards or some interesting cut edges. Let your imagination take wing!
My card features the monthly Mini Delight set for September called Petite Posy. I recently watched a You Tube video by one of the artists at Altenew and took inspiration from her - making the most of little stamps.
Someday I'm going to be good at watercolor but I guess I fake it okay. I stamped the flower along the right edge with clear embossing ink on Ranger watercolor paper. I then heat embossed with Princess Gold embossing powder. I also stamped a couple of blooms on separate watercolor paper and used the die to cut them out. I didn't have it lined up quite right so I trimmed it so that I close cut it. I colored them using my Zig Real Brush markers and lots of water. I mixed mustard with light carmine red to come up with this near Sonia rose color (my favorite rose in the world). The leaves I used olive green and mid green. Then I washed Frayed Burlap Distress Ink over the rest of the card. Then with some less watered down color I got a few splatters.
Finally, I die cut the Hello die from Hero Arts from brushed gold card stock and then stamped a coordinating sentiment below it.
I'm pretty happy with how this card turned out. I hope you like it, too. Please head on over to the TMS blog and join in the fun!
