** please scroll down for the Tuesday Morning Sketches post **
Hey there! Thank you for stopping by. My first post is on the i-Crafter blog today. I had the best time making this card. The owner, Lynda Kanase, challenged us to think outside the box for our projects. So who thought Scotty Holiday die set could be a super cute Halloween card?!
I started with my base of white card stock and pulled out my box of Distress Oxide inks. I first blended on Squeezed Lemonade, then around that Scattered Straw, building my color out I then used Seedless Preserves, Chipped Sapphire and Stormy Sky. I love this ethereal background!
I cut the spider web element and snipped it out and glued to the corner of the base.
I cut out a few bats, the dog, the bow, the pumpkin and the sentiment. The dog I added a few highlights using Pumice Stone Oxide ink. Then snipping off one of the bat wings I used this for a mask. I cut out two bows and layered them so that I had two tails to make it look like his mask is tied on. For the pumpkin and I did ink the edges a little with Black Soot, added a scrap of black card stock to the back and cut a sliver of a strip of black card stock to fashion the handle. Glued it so that it looks like the dog is carrying his pumpkin bucket. I sat him atop the Happy Halloween sentiment.
This was a super fun card and I hope it inspires you to look at your dies with a different eye.
