Tuesday Morning Sketches #642

Hello!  Thanks so much for your visit.  The latest revisited sketch is up at Tuesday Morning Sketches - this week was Patti's pick.  Just wait til you see the card she made with this sketch!  It's lovely!

Okay so my card this week.... Uh--hem.  Yes, it's a Valentine's card and if you know me, you know I don't do Valentine's cards.  But I have a good reason - actually 14 good reasons.  First the card....

My card features dies from the Valentine Embellishments die set by Lori Whitlock from i-Crafter and a lovely digital paper pack I got from Etsy on sale for $1.80.  I printed out the paper that I really liked and then I printed out the bucket of roses on sticker paper and fussy cut them out.   I did have the corner pieces that I chopped off and so not to waste them I made this next card that I am hoping is a bit more masculine.

My 14 good reasons... they are 13 residents of the Baraboo Assisted Living Care facility in Baraboo, WI.  I saw this post on Facebook - these sweet, elderly faces just wanting to receive a Valentine.  How could I say no?  My grandma was in Assisted Living and I worked in an Assisted Living facility for awhile and I know how these people feel.  They just want to be treated with dignity and respect and shown a little love.  So I have set aside my disdain for this ridiculous holiday and I am making 13 cards for these residents and 1 for the staff.

I do hope you'll join us at Tuesday Morning Sketches.  We'll see you over at the blog.  Leave the girls some love!!

Those are both beautiful. You are so blessed to still have your Grandma and it’s great to make such wonderful Valentines for the residents.

Both cards are beautiful Melissa and you will cheer the spirits and put a smile on the faces of the lucky recipients at the Baraboo Assisted Living Care facility. That is such a lovely and heartfelt gesture.

These are really pretty. I love that you used some of the same elements and yet have 2 totally different cards!

That is just so sweet of you Melissa to make Valentine’s cards for the elderly! These are both really pretty and I’m so inspired by your kindness in the face of a day you don’t care for-maybe you will be a convert forever and just sending love to whomever needs it!

These cards are sure to bring smiles. This holiday would be at the bottom of my list, too, except I do love picking up the unsold chocolate candy on discount the next day!! Hugs, Debi
