Silhouette Sunday

Hello everyone!  I hope your weekend is going well.  It hasn't been the cheeriest of ones at my house.  *sigh*

Anyway, so when my Mom was here a couple of weeks ago, she and I sat down to make a bunch of cards.  Well, I made a lot of cards, she watched!  LOL  It was a lot of fun.  I have recently discovered that Jamie Lane Designs is one of my favorite svg cut designers.  I tend to buy on the Silhouette Online store her cut files and Lori Whitlock's the most.  There are other designers that I love but there's something about there's that I am drawn, too.  Well, Jamie introduced several 3D cards that I thought were just beautiful and I just had to make them!

Then while my Mom and I were looking through the pages of the Silhouette Online store we found this bird card by Lori Whitlock.  We thought it was really cute and the paper that we chose really funk-a-fied this bird.  It didn't cut out like the picture (I expected the card base head to be rounded), but it still turned out great.

And, of course, we sat down at the kitchen table and while sipping on our coffee we watched You Tube videos.  Dawn Griffith has been a source of inspiration to me for years.  When I was a SU! demo and still.  Her videos are the only SU! commercials I will watch because she has a nice equal balance on card making/technique and the products.  She made these adorable cards that I HAD to try.  I don't have all the punches she does, so I turned to my Portrait.

The own head is cut from a labels shape svg and so is the heart.  The circles and scallop circle are punches and the moon is cut using the CM cutters.

Dawn's card is portrait orientation, she uses the cupcake builder punch from SU! - I used cut files that I found.  I think I should've sized them down just a bit more.  I love the awning.  I did use the word window punch.

I do hope you enjoyed my parade of cards today.  Thank you for stopping by.

You were on a roll! I need to get my Silhouette out and use it more. I've had it a year and not used it but a couple times! Your cards are inspiring!
