Tuesday Morning Sketches #755

Hey friends!  Thanks for stopping by.  I appreciate your visit.  The latest sketch is up at Tuesday Morning Sketches and it's a fun one.  I enjoyed the creative outlet this card gave me while making it.

My card features Tonic Studios Craft Kit called Boots and Bouquets.  This is a lovely 2D set with stamps and matching dies.  Although it looks gray in the photo, the card I used is Blue Frost Pearlescent Card.  I enjoyed watercoloring with watercolor pencils and Zig Real Brush markers.

The background die I used is also in the kit.  I stamped the image on Tim Holtz watercolor paper with embossing ink and used Raven detail embossing powder from Brutus Monroe.  When I finished coloring the images I "washed" the background with watery Hickory Smoke Distress Oxide ink.  I added some die cut leaves behind the oval cut image.  I embossed the sentiment on the same Blue Frost paper.

I hope you can draw some inspiration from my card and that you'll play along.  Please leave some love for the team!

Color My Heart Color Dare #598

Hello!  Thank you for stopping by.  Color My Heart Color Dare #598 is up and ready for your fun and creativity!

This challenge is....

Shades of Pink, Green and Yellow

My card for you today is so girly and so pretty.  I am featuring flower dies and rectangle dies from Pink & Main and the watering can is from a Tonic Studios Craft Kit called Summer Garden.

I made the flowers using 3 different sizes of dies in 2 shades of yellow.  Added light green leaves.   The pink frame I made by cutting out one size rectangle and then cutting out the center 2 sizes smaller.

The sentiment is cut from Pearlescent Card from Tonic Studios in Coral Pink.  The die cut is also from Tonic that also embosses but now I can't remember which die set it came from!   I placed this on a watering can image that I die cut from silver metallic card stock.

Here you can see that shine of the metallic card I used. And to see those beautiful flowers and the stitched detail from the rectangle die I used.

I do hope you'll join us for this color challenge!

Tuesday Morning Sketches #754

Hello!  Thank you for stopping by!  I appreciate your visit.  Please leave a comment so I know you were here.  The latest sketch is up at Tuesday Morning Sketches and it's such an easy sketch with simple elements that you'll use it again and again.

My card features some new products from Tonic Studios...

Okay, well maybe only one new product from Tonic Studios.  This features the most gorgeous 3D embossing folder from Tonic that was released this past week - it's called Pretty Petal Trellis.  I embossed it on some white card then I colored with pink and gold embellishment mousse.  I also used Bubblegum Pink Classic Card and Glazed Chestnut Pearlescent card.  The sentiment is also a Tonic Studios die that was gifted to me.  I did add some gems that are from Brutus Monroe.

I do hope you'll join us for the challenge.  We'll see you over at TMS.

Tuesday Morning Sketches #753

Hello hello hello!  Thank you for stopping by!  I do appreciate you came by.  The latest sketch is up at Tuesday Morning Sketches - pretty easy elements.

My card features products from Brutus Monroe March 1 release.

This is the Sentiments of Wings stamp set and the Build a Butterfly stencil.  I created the butterfly using Pumpkin Velveteen glaze and Black Pearl Chroma Glaze.  After I colored I tried applying Opal Chroma Glaze to give it some sheen  - it worked, but it picked up all the other colors and smeared a little.  I'm not mad about it at all - it gave shadow and depth and interest.

I do hope you'll join us at TMS for the challenge.  I think you'll enjoy it.  Leave some leave for the team!

Color My Heart Color Dare #596

Hello!  Thank you for stopping by.  Color My Heart Color Dare #596 is up and ready for your fun and creativity!

This challenge is....

BLACK, BROWN plus 1 OTHER COLOR

Interesting color palette and it was a challenge for me for sure!  I have to admit I took to Pinterest for guidance.  There wasn't much that inspired me, which was unusual, but it did remind me of a paper pack I have had for age.

I pulled out this paper pad which is black and kraft.  I thought it was perfect for this pocket watch I made from the Clocks and Cogs Tonic Craft Kit - which was the first ever craft kit I got when I became a subscriber.  The watch is actually made from cream card stock and Majestic Gold specialty card but this picture just doesn't do the card justice.  It's been so ugly here, it's difficult to get a good picture.

I hope you'll join us for this color challenge.  See you there!

Brutus Monroe

Hello! Thank you for stopping by.  I appreciate your visit.

For today's card share - this honestly was a labor of love.  You see, I am not so great with a craft knife, but patience, perseverance and a sore finger, I created what my mind saw!

This is actually a stencil!  I traced the image onto some white card stock and then proceeded to take the next couple of hours to cut it out using a craft knife.  We all admire people with knife skills - kitchen or craft room.  I remember going to a crop years ago and watching a guy cut out a page for his wife's scrapbook.  I'm telling you - this guy was a human laser cutter with that knife.  I was so envious!

Anyway, after I cut out the image and put in LOTS of dimensional foam tape to section off the dragon from the book and filled it with sequins that I have had in stash for a lot of years!  As I am organizing my craft room I am discovering a ton of supplies that I need to use.

I absolutely love the sentiment I chose for this card.  It says "Growing old is mandatory but growing up is optional."  Is that not the most perfect for a storybook theme?

Well, what do you think?

Brutus Monroe Butterfly Folio

Hello! Thanks for stopping by.  I am so proud of my project that I am sharing with you today.  I have recently discovered the art of folios.  I am enamored by making these!!  I recently made one for my cousin who just had a baby.  That was the start.  I'm currently working on one for my sister as sort of a yearbook but just for her 2nd grade class.  The school's theme was Disney and my sister chose Mary Poppins.  I am having so much fun with it!

Okay but back to this one... I actually started creating this folio about a week or so before the Mar 1 release.  Christopher Alan had sneak peeked the paper pad and that got my wheels churning.  I found this folio on MayMay Made It that Shannon designed.  I really loved it but I needed a 6x6 size so I went about to figuring out those measurements.  I had to do math!  Eeek.  LOL

Here's one photo but it's easier to see all the details on the video.

Here are some other photos, but please go to my Instagram page @stampedbym to see the video.  Blogger won't let me post it here.

I love how this turned out and I am looking so forward to making more!

Tuesday Morning Sketches #751

Hello friends  - thank you so much for stopping by.  I do hope you'll leave me a comment so I know you were here.  The latest sketch is up at Tuesday Morning Sketches and it's really easy.  We're playing with layers.

My card features gorgeous papers from Tonic Studios, a sentiment by Tonic Studios that was gifted to me and the beautiful Vintage Doily die set from Brutus Monroe.  This is such an easy card - it went together in minutes.

How sweet is this card in shades of pink?  Unfortunately it's really difficult to photograph mirror card stock.

I do hope you'll join us at TMS - this is a great challenge.  Be sure to leave some love for the team, they did an amazing job on their cards!
