Delightful Challenges

Good Morning!  I have to do a super quick post this morning.  I am hustling around to get ready for my sister Karin to arrive and I'm busy making her something to celebrate her 50th birthday so I have been super short on time.

This week's challenge at Delightful Challenge is....

BLING IT UP

Who doesn't love this sort of challenge?  Glitter, rhinestones, anything shiny!  Here's my take on the challenge.  I am featuring an adorable image from the Just Chillin digi stamp set.

My card's bling'd features are glitter and raindots snowflakes.  Hopefully you can catch the glitter in the next photo.

My card layout inspiration came from Operation Write Home from a couple of weeks ago.  It's just perfect for this little sledding on his wreath.  So cute.  I also pulled a color inspiration of Turquoise, Red and White from (I believe) My Time Made Easy that was from 3 weeks ago.  I think it worked perfectly, don't you?

Supplies:
Image: Just Chillin
Card stock: Neenah Classic Crest
Paper: Border from In My Eyes Storybook
Copics: B000, BG01, BG05, G02, G05, R11, R27, R29
Tools: Heat Gun, Iridescent Ice embossing powder (SU!)
Embellishments: red satin ribbon (Offray), Snowflake Rain Dots (Cloud 9 Designs)

Thanks for stopping by!  I hope that you join us this week.

Sunday Bliss

Good Afternoon!  I am really enjoying my Sunday.  It's quiet, the apartment is clean and smelling fresh and my kids are just doing their own thing.  We'll have a movie later on.

So I've been really good about getting some design work done ahead of schedule, which left my day to just play.  I decided to play along with a few challenges.  Ones I don't get to play along with very often, so little time, so many fun challenges....  The sketch is from Just Us Girls, Anything Goes for Charisma Cardz and paper piecing at Raise the Bar.

I really don't like taking pictures during the day.  I prefer at night when I have more control over the lighting - I do apologize if this card looks mediocre on your monitor.  It really is cute.

Supplies:
Image:  Cuddly Bear (Doodle Pantry)
Stamps/Ink:  Mini Messages (PTI), Tuxedo Black (Memento)
Card stock:  Neenah Classic Crest, Perfect Plum, Pale Plum
Paper:  Springtime (Echo Park)
Copics:  E33, E37, E53, Y11, Y15, W-2
Tools:  Oval Cutter (CM)
Embellishments:  yellow grosgrain ribbon, white satin ribbon (Offray)

Thanks for visting me today.  Now I am off to visit blogs!  Happy holiday weekend to you.

Delightful Challenges

Hello everyone!  It's Thursday which means we're one day closer to a 3 day weekend!  Doin' the happy dance!!  And I'm happy dancin' for another reason, it's time for a new challenge at Digital Delights with the newest release.  We're getting ready for Halloween - so I can't wait to see what you do with this challenge, but stay with me for just another minute for me to show you what I did with it.

So I went with a project.  Let me tell you, this is not what I started to make.  Remember I told you the other day that I had such a hard time getting my creative juices flowing.  I started on this project Sunday morning around 8am and I finally finished it Sunday night.  I had to Skype my sister Theresa and have her hang out with me and encourage me the whole way thru it.  It worked, I think.

I started the idea with another box and then ended up with this cute little milk carton which is an SVG from my old pal Lindsay from Lindsay's Stamp Stuff.

Theresa said that this little ghostie is so cute that it deserved to be on a special medallion.  So I made it.  These are a bit tricky to get to lay flat, I turned it inside out a couple of times and had it jump 6 inches in the air.  It cracked my son up!

Then I finished it off with a cute greeting from Halloween Sentiments #1.  The inside will be filled with yummy malted milk balls.  Another one of Theresa's suggestions.

Supplies:
Image: Ghillie the Ghost, Halloween Sentiments #1, Halloween Digi Paper
Card stock: Neenah Classic Crest, Basic Black
Paper: Halloween Digi Paper
Copics: 100, E34, E37, G02, G05, R00, R11, R27, W-0, W-2, Y15, YR16, YR20, YR68
Tools: Cricut, SCAL, Milk Carton svg (Lindsay's Stamp Stuff)
Embellishments: orange stitched ribbon

Go check out the other super adorable images that are now available with this release and then join us for the challenge.  Have a great Thursday!
