Good Morning! The sketch is up and ready for you to play along with us at Tuesday Morning Sketches. This week is sponsored by Sweet n Sassy Stamps. Yay! So my card features one of my favorite stamp sets, Wildflowers. I love the image and the greetings!
So I don't know if I've shared that I've had a recent interest in watercolor. I've been watching lots of videos by Kristina Werner and Jennifer McGuire on You Tube. Got me a set of Gelatos at 40% off and I scored big on Distress Inks from Blitsy. So let the fun begin right? Well, I'm still learning. Tell me what you think....
The paper I used is from one of my favorite mat stacks called Linen Closet. I love these colors. Then I took a piece of Strathmore Watercolor paper and spritzed it with water. Using Tumbled Glass Distress Ink and a blender tool I applied a wash of color. I dried it a bit with my heat tool and then pounced on a bit more color with the still wet blender tool. I dried it slightly and then inked my stamp with the same color and stamped. Since the paper was still a little wet the ink reacted with the color giving me the blurry, spread out look. I dried it completely and stamped again just to get a bit more intensity on the color. I didn't line up the stamp perfectly for the 2nd stamping and I really like how it made the stems look a bit wider. Overall, I am really happy with my results.
So, I hope I inspired you to try something new - I may have even hinted to a twist that might be coming in the future.
Have a great Tuesday and we'll see you over at TMS.

1 Encouraging Thoughts:
So neat! I've stamped on wet paper before, but I get all angsty when I try to do spritzing - wet stuff! At my desk! AUGH! This looks so neat that I'm going to have to brave it :)
