Hello! How are you? I'm doing well, thanks. I am so excited - my mommy arrives tomorrow around 11:30 am and I can't wait to see her. It's been a year. I can hardly believe that because that means it's been a year since Brendan graduated high school. Ack!
So this week's challenge is up at Delightful Challenges and I am so pleased with my card, I can't wait to share it with you. Here it is....
This week's theme is It's a Guy Thing. I'm assuming this is to get ready for Father's Day but since I don't a Dad anymore, I don't care too much for my children's Dad - so I made this a masculine thinking of you card. I am so pleased with the results! I am featuring digital images Pocket watch and Thinking of You Today sentiment. The {black} cogs are an svg cut as well as the harlequin background. Behind it is digital paper I found while playing around at the Jessica Sprague store. The fishtail banner is cut from a piece of burlap paper (matstack) that I got at JoAnn's at 40% off. I "colored" the image with Distress Inks, the metal cog is also by Tim Holtz.
I hope you enjoy this card and the ones I will be sharing with you in June. It's my last month with Delightful Challenges, a year has certainly flown by! I have some really lovelies to share. Stay tuned.
Happy Thursday!

Tuesday Morning Sketches #251
Good Morning! I hope everyone had a great weekend. I know I did. I made ribs and chicken on the grill yesterday and oh man did it all turn out wonderful. I also enjoyed getting to know my daughter's new boyfriend. He's very sweet. And he loves my cooking, so I'm a very happy momma.
This week's sketch is ready to go at the TMS blog and I think it screams P-A-R-T-Y! Our sponsor this week is a new digi store called Zap Pow Designs. Owned by two fun chicks that I know from The Stamp Doctor. I was fortunate to get to work with Nerdasaurus. So cute! This card would be perfect for a little boy turning two.
I got to use my new dies that I treated myself to - this is frilly banner by CC Designs. I also used these cool letters that I have had forever and hardly ever use. Someday I'll remember what they are called, but they are by QuicKutz. My sister Karin and I refer to them as Brady Bunch lettering.
Head on over to the TMS blog and play along. Happy Tuesday.

Delightful Challenges Thursday
Good Morning everyone. The holiday weekend is almost here - at least for those of us in the States. I am so excited to have an extra day off and that makes it closer for my momma to come visit!
So this week's theme at Delightful Challenges is...
It's Memorial Day on Monday so the color theme is pretty fitting. I had fun with this challenge. My card features Patchy Bear and at first I thought I'd just focus on his popsicle being red, white and blue like a bomb pop (you all remember those right?) - but then as all my cards seem to do, it evolved into going all out with stars and stripes. My card is based on the layout from Sketch and Stamp.
I created the stars background just by using a cutting file from the Silhouette Online store. The red panel is from a holiday balloon stand from the Dollar Tree and the stars are, too. So for $1 I created some fun shine and texture and I have tons left for embellishing other cards.
Have a great Thursday!

Tuesday Morning Sketches #250
Hello - quick post today. TMS sketch is up and it's awesome, Debbie created it. Our sponsor this week is Stitchy Bear Digital Outlet and I'm featuring an image called Happy Happy.
I love how my card turned out. I don't think you can go wrong with pink and brown as a color combo and embellishing with sequins. Sequins are really hot right now, it's nice they've made a come back.
I have been waiting for the perfect card to use this cupcake washi tape on. I use it and practically cover it up! LOL I'm still pleased with the results.
Head on over to TMS - it'll be fun!!

Delightful Challenge Thursday
Good Morning! How's it going? My week has been pretty good so far, can't complain. This week's challenge is ready to go at Delightful Challenges and this week the theme is....
Now I think I missed the mark. I didn't add the sunshine into my card. Oops! But I was sooo excited that I figured out how to do watercolor with a digital image. Now I will be doing a tutorial (pictorial) on this but I wanted to do it with a bigger image.
My card features Hanging Birdhouses and I love this digital stamp. However, I have a little bleeding when adding the colors, so now I know my do's and don'ts. That's why I want to use something printed a bit bigger for my tutorial. Because I got with it as far as I did, I was excited that I forgot to "wash in" in some sunshine.
The layout for my card is from Sweet Sunday Sketch.
Head on over to join us at Digital Delights, I know you won't forget your sunshine.

Tuesday Morning Sketches #249
Good Morning! The sketch is up at Tuesday Morning Sketches and I am your sponsor this week. I will be offering a $10 voucher to Ellen Hutson LLC - an amazing online store that has become a favorite of mine!
I really love this week's sketch and can you believe it - I actually forgot an element. It was too late to undo what I did and in the famous words of Jennifer McGuire, never restart a card. It's the Judged Challenge, so the twist is flowers. My flower is an svg cut by Lori Whitlock (she's a favorite, too). I think I need to learn what prickly pear flowers are and how these are supposed to go together. For being 3D, it looks a little flat.
I am still very pleased with the results. I've also been playing around with watercolor. The background features a technique that I learned from yet another Stampin' Up! commercial on You Tube. The video artist is Audrey and you can find it here. She seems very sweet. I still have a lot to learn with the technique that she's showing, but still it was fun to try.
The tiny bow above the flower is a die by Mama Elephant. I think they're becoming a favorite to me just because of the name! This die was all of $5 and only Ellen Hutson had it in stock!

Delightful Challenges Thursday
Good Morning friends! How's your week going? So happy that this one is almost over.
This week's challenge is up at Delightful Challenges and it's an easy one....
Well, that meant flowers to me. I am featuring Sasha and Pup - what great image. I am also entering this is The Kraft Journal's challenge - Just for Her.
Isn't this sweet? I love the simplicity of the card. I embellished with a single svg cut flower and brad. The paper is from a Valentine's paper stack by Recollections called Love.
Please join us for this fun challenge. Happy Thursday.

Tuesday Morning Sketches #248
Good Morning! Happy Tuesday, I hope your week is going well so far. Are you all ready for Mother's Day? I bought my Mom a plane ticket to come out for a visit at the end of the month. I'm pretty excited and I know the kids can't wait. It's been a year since we saw her last.
This week's sketch is up on the TMS blog and we're sponsored by Deedee's Digis. I'm pretty excited about that, too. Here's what I made featuring My Life is Blessed. This reminds me of my oldest sister, Karin. She has a tattoo that is similar to this hummingbird. It makes me smile.
I love the jewel tones of the digi paper and the bird (colored image - I didn't do it). I do wish my printer printed more vibrant, true color but it's a cheap printer.
Please come visit us at Tuesday Morning Sketches - you might just get featured on our Facebook page.
Have a great day!

Scrapbook Saturday with Deedee's Digis
Hello everyone! Happy National Scrapbook Day! I just got back from shopping with Hollyanne and Levi. Used a 40% off coupon at Michaels, scored a really cute outfit that's dressy but perfect for summer at The Avenue, Hollyanne got a new pair of Nike's at Sports Authority and Levi picked up a headset for his computer. Whew!
So, I created this super cute page using papers and frames from Deedee's Digis Lots of Thoughts set. I'm trying to create some of my own embellishments and the papers from the set were a lot of fun to use.
So here's my sweet baby cousin Leo playing outside. I used the papers to create the flags in the upper left corner then topped it off with a button I found in the MyMemories Suite software that matched perfectly. Then after getting the rest of my page put together, I added the thought bubble frames for title and journaling. I am really pleased with how this page turned out.
Enjoy National Scrapbooking Day!

Kelleigh Ratzlaff Designs Blog Hop
*** If you're here for the Delightful Challenges post, please scroll down ***
Hello! I am so excited about the first blog hop for Kelleigh Ratzlaff Designs. I have been super thrilled with being on this team. Kelleigh has allowed us so much flexibility and creative room that I want to be on her team, cheering for her designs forever!
Thanks for hopping along with Kelleigh Ratzlaff Designs Blog Hop! You just came from Kacy's blog and your next stop is Lorry Lee's blog. Don't forget if you leave a comment on each participants blog you will be entered to win a $10 gift card to Kelleigh's shop at Pixels & Co. What a great way to start INSD weekend.
So I created a couple projects to share. The first one uses the Birdhouse, Roses in Bloom and Sunshiney Spring paper pack. There are a couple of items (tiny roses and bird/branch) that are not Kelleigh's but I'm trying to talk her into making more birds!
So I really wanted to photograph this cute little birdhouse outside hanging from a tree. The weather didn't cooperate with me at all. We had some pretty severe thunderstorms!
And here's a close up peek inside the birdhouse where a beautiful yellow rose lives.
My other project to share is a quick scrapbook page that I made featuring papers from Kelleigh's new pack called In the Garden. The embellishment in the upper left corner is not something I created. I found in the software program I use and it's perfect with Kelleigh's papers. The pearl embellishments are Alina's Pearls that you will find in Kelleigh's shop.
Thank you so much for stopping by. Now hop on over to Lorry Lee's blog.
Delightful Challenge Thursday
Good Morning! It's Thursday - this week is going by so quickly. I am not complaining. I'm going out this weekend with a couple of my girlfriends and I'm really looking forward to it. I rarely go do anything. We'll see if I come home Saturday night tattooed! LOL
This week's challenge is up at Delightful Challenges and it's time for a new release. The challenge this week is add...
My project features the new digis Movie Night Sweeney Skunk and Movie Night Accessories. I printed the couch big enough to use as bag topper low enough on the card stock that I had plenty of room to create a card fold. Then used lots and lots of dimensionals to sit the skunk on the couch, pop up those paper pieced pillows and pop-up even more the sentiment. This was fun!
Here's my finished project....
