Birthstone Challenge May-June

Hello!  It's time for another challenge at Birthstone Challenge.  This challenge will run until June 15th.  The birthstones are Pearl and Emerald and the twist is Engagement/Wedding/Anniversary.

My card for this challenge is made from a paper pad I have had forever!  I don't know how long this has been in stash but it's perfect for this challenge.  If you can't tell, I am showcasing pearl.  I did pair it with with a neutral Kraft and it's absolutely beautiful!

All the dies are from Tonic Studios - some from different memory books sets and the big daisy is from the Blooming Bouquet set.  This turned out so pretty... took most of the day to put it together, but the outcome was worth the time.

I hope to see you over at Birthstone Challenge.

Brutus Monroe - Snowglobe Keepsake

Hello.  Thanks for stopping by.  I have a card I am so proud of for my Brutus Monroe card share.

Have you ever received a trinket or box or something that you absolutely cherished and it was displayed on a bookshelf?  That's what my card is all about....

I used the Brutus Monroe Die of the Month (April) Snowglobe.  First off, I washed some Pearl Aqua Pigment over some watercolor paper.  Once it was dry I die cut all the pieces from the die set.  The base of the snowglobe was die cut from a piece of cardstock that I covered in embossing ink and then embossed with Bubbly embossing powder.  This, if you can't tell by the name, is a champagne gold embossing powder that is absolutely beautiful!

Putting the snowglobe together to create this beautiful winter scene was accomplished with lots of dimensional foam tape.

I created the base using woodgrain card stock from Lawn Fawn.  It was white until I recolored it with Walnut Stain Distress Ink.  I cut some strips and adhered with dimensional foam tape to create the shelves and then added some books onto those shelves using the Spectacular Spines washi tape.  Before adding the snowglobe to the shelf, I had to make it extra special....

I ADDED LIGHTS!  I have always wanted to put lights in a card.  I was on a design a couple of years ago for iCrafter.  On this team was a super talented lady, Amanda Stevens, who also owns Pear Blossom Press which offers EZ-Light.  These really are easy, you don't have to figure out anything except placement!

I hope you like my card and find inspiration from it.

Thank you for visiting.
