Thanks with Designs on Cloud 9

Good Morning everyone!  Happy (day-after) Thanksgiving.  I hope you enjoyed your holiday yesterday.  I have one final Fall card to share with you.  I'm getting into all Christmas projects now.

This card features Thanks card and Fall Leaves files.  I incorporated the Charles embossing folder by Cuttlebug and I love the results.  The card is simple, the card is natural.  It's just so warm and I love it.

I hope this inspires you to look at each of the cut files available with different eyes.  The Thanks card actually looks very Spring-y with flowers.  Remove some pieces and substitute with others.  Elevate a simple card with texture and natural twine.

Have a wonderful day!

Tuesday Morning Sketches #277

Good Morning!  Happy Tuesday and Happy Thanksgiving to our US friends.  This week's sketch is up and ready for your enjoyment and inspiration.  This one was created by Nina and it's a super great one.  Our sponsor this week is Dies r Us.

My card features some oldies but goodies.

I combined paper with felt.  The red panel is felt as well as the rick-rack white piece which I cut out using a large rick-rack border die (retired) from MFT Stamps.  I also used label punch by SU! and then the slot punch also by SU! to create the ribbon slide.  The stamp/die stocking is from a stamp set by There Goes Stamps (no longer in business - I miss them).  The little snowflakes are from the same stamp set using Schoolhouse Red and Green Apple by Simon Says Stamp.  Really easy, almost nearly single layer card.  It's so festive!

I hope to see you join us this week!  Thank you for stopping by.

Tuesday Morning Sketches #276

Good Morning!  The TMS sketch is posted and ready for you to play.  It's a great one, too.  But I'm pretty partial to our sketches.  This one was inspired by Jessi so you know it's gonna be a good one.

Our sponsor this week is Diane's Daydream Designs - a lovely little internet shop with sweet images.  My card is featuring an adorable Rudy Doody Reindeer image.

Who doesn't love a reindeer all dressed up in Christmas lights?  I love this image.  So sweet!  I kept this card on the natural, masculine side using Kraft as my base and then adding a bit of deep evergreen green, simple designer paper and then finished with a button and some twine.  Easy card.

Please join us at Tuesday Morning Sketches - we'd love to see what you make.  Thank you for stopping by.

Decorating for Fall with Designs on Cloud 9

Hello DC9 fans!  I have created a super fun Fall decoration and now I feel it's a bit late since I'm seeing so many parts of the US being bombarded with cold and snow.  My sister said the other day that it was -2 in Denver.  Bleh!  Temps like that make me happy that I live in Florida.  It gets cold here, too, but I think the lowest low I've had to experience is 27 degrees.

Anyway, for those of us still feeling Fall, here's a decoration I created using Silly Scarecrow (on the Silhouette Online store I think he's called Cute Scarecrow - and if you want to purchase him, I would suggest directly in the shop because you get a few more pieces for the same price).

I purchased the small sized straw bale from Walmart, cut the wires that bind it and removed about 1/4 from the side and then tied up with jute.  This is a messy process, but the results are great.  I glued the bale to some scrap cardboard and then glued some extra straw pieces to around it to camouflage the cardboard.  The scarecrow I glued to a bamboo skewer, poked a hole and then filled it with hot glue and then adhered the scarecrow.  For the pumpkins, I did the same thing but with toothpicks.  I made the sign post myself, it's not included in the file.

Super easy and looks great on my entry-way table.  I hope you like my project and thank you so much for stopping by.

Tuesday Morning Sketches #275

Good Morning and Happy Tuesday!  We have a great sketch up and waiting for you on the TMS blog and this week is the Judged Challenge so there's an added twist - that is perfect for this time of year.

This week's sponsor is Digital Delights by Looby Lou.  My card features the adorable Haystacks the Scarecrow image.  The twist this week is to add Pumpkins or Leaves.

I created this card with some great (surprisingly) Kraft card stock that I got from Michael's.  It's a deeper shade of Kraft than I normally work with and I just love it.  It's so warm and beautiful.  I usually only like Michaels card stock for layering, but it worked great for my card bases.  I embossed on layer with a woodgrain embossing folder.  Then I cut out a leaf using the Foliage Spellbinders die from More Mustard and inked the edges.  I then made an easy pumpkin from an oval punch using Pumpkin Pie and some random decorative paper that was sitting on my table.  I matted the focal image to piece of scrap burlap.  It's very earthy and screams Fall!

I hope you head on over to the TMS blog to join us.  Have a fantastic day!

Tuesday Morning Sketches #274

Good Morning!  The latest sketch is up on the Tuesday Morning Sketches blog.  This one was inspired by Jessi.  I really like this one - it's a great jumping off point for any kind of card.  Even a great layout for a scrapbook page.

My card today features an image from our sponsor, Stitchy Bear Digital Outlet.  This is Lolitta.  This is an image that is way out of my comfort zone, but I thought was so pretty.

Talk about a classy looking woman!  Love her!  I tried my hand at coloring in gray tones.  Eh... it's OK.  I like that little splash of red here and there.  I couldn't really capture all the shimmer I added to her dress with the clear Wink of Stella pen.  But it looks pretty in real life.

Please join us this week.  I'll see you over at the TMS blog.

Silhouette Sunday

Hello Everyone!  I hope you all are enjoying that extra hour (if you got one).  I know I am but it still feels like the day is going by way too quickly for everything I want to do today.

This week's project is one I created for a cousin (a couple times removed) who asked me to help her capture a very precious moment in her life.  The picture was taken in her mother's last days and it's so special.

I made the frame using a shadow box frame by Lori Whitlock.  The flowers are by Jamie Lane Designs.  The vine and words are random cut files that I found in the Silhouette Online store.  I did cut a doily out of vellum but I ended up covering up most of it.  The pearls, I got a package of beads from Walmart for $1 and strung them - I adhered them using Glossy Accents.

Here's a better look at the pearls and lace doily.  I dotted a bit sequins around, too.

I think this one word says it all.  I did cover the letters using Wink of Stella clear glitter pen just to give it a little bit of pop.

I thank Loretta for giving me the opportunity to create something so beautiful for her.  In her thank you note to me she expressed how much she and her husband loved it.

Thanks for stopping by.
