Tuesday Morning Sketches #561

Hello!  Thank you for stopping by.  The latest sketch is up at Tuesday Morning Sketches and this one is by Andrea.  It's a fun one, super easy to work with.

My card features an firecracker svg cut available on the Silhouette online store, stars embossing folder by Park Lane (JoAnn's), stars stickers from Michael's and the sentiment is from a set from Pink and Main.

Isn't this fun!?  So I cut the the fire cracker blue layer twice.  One of the layers I also cut an adhesive layer, put that down onto the blue layer so that I could foil it.  I laid down this cool, faceted silver foil on the swirly bits and some for the shine on the tip of the firecracker.  For the sentiment I inked it up with 3 different ink colors.

I hope my card inspires you and that you'll join us for the challenge.  See you over on the blog, be sure to say hello and leave some love for the team.

Tuesday Morning Sketches #560

Hello!  Thank you so much for stopping.  The latest sketch is up at Tuesday Morning Sketches and it's a fun one.  A few layers only so it's really easy to work with.

I have two cards to share with you.  The first one features Spellbinders Small DOMs from May and June.  It's hard to see the borders to the sides of the white panel.  They are cut from gold foil card stock and it's super hard to photograph.  I love love LOVE these flowers from the June kit.  Poppies are one of my top 5 favorite flowers and that's what these flowers remind me of.  The sentiment stamp is from Raisin Boat (retired) and I cut it out using Avery Elle Sentiment Strips die.  I also the stitched rectangle die from Pink & Main.

This second card I couldn't resist making.  Spellbinders was having a Summer Sale that I had to get in on.  So this card features the Layered Flowers and Essential Glimmer Rectangles glimmer plates.  The sentiment is also a glimmer plate.  I used Moon Dust and Opal foils.  Moo Dust is the blue on the flowers and Opal is on the leaves.  I also embossed the white panel using an embossing folder from Fun Stampers Journey, Cozy Knit, I believe.

Here you'll see a close up of the flowers and leaves.  Look at that shine!  I'm getting better with foiling.  I am also so super excited that I successfully did some creative foiling.  The Essential Glimmer Rectangles are like layered dies.  So of course what I used isn't this skinny.  I foiled top, bottom and side of the thin white panel.  Then carefully lined of the other and slipped in a thin piece of foil.

I finished off my card with 2 different colors of Nuvo Drops.  This card is so pretty and I am so pleased!

Well I thank you for your visit and I hope to see you over at the TMS blog.  The team created some beautiful cards!   See you there.

Tuesday Morning Sketches #559

Hello!  Thank you so much for stopping by my blog.  The latest sketch is up at Tuesday Morning Sketches.  This is a really fun sketch and it's such an open canvas.  Patti did a great job with this sketch.

I am so very excited to share my cards with you!  This first one features the Friends Forever bundle at Queen & Co.  I'm still trying to embrace the bright primary colors.  I think I need to just give the paper away, it's still not something I'm drawn to.

I added some small strips of solid colors on the left hand side of the card to try to tone down these crazy hearts.  Then I added the black yarn to really try to ground this card.  It's still a bit eye assaulting.  I love the sentiment - I think I'll just play with that from now on.

This next card.  Oh my goodness, I am just bursting at the seams to share it with you....

Aren't these gorgeous flowers!?  This card features the Flowering Cistus stamps and dies from Altenew.  Yes, I splurged!  I know I shouldn't have done it, but I did.  I am still very committed to paying off some bills and so far I'm on track as I laid it all out.  So I deserve the stamps.

Instead of wrapping ribbon or twine like on the sketch I embossed 3 lines.  this card is just so pretty!

Well, again, thank you for stopping by and I'll see you over at the Tuesday Morning Sketches blog.  Be sure to come by to join us and leave some love for the design team members.

Tuesday Morning Sketches #558

Hello!  Thank you so much for stopping by and I am so excited that your here.  The latest sketch is up on the Tuesday Morning Sketches blog and you're going to to be blown away by the design team's cards.

My card - I am so happy with how it turned out!  The picture isn't bad - the base is a soft gray but it is also very cloudy outside.  We got hit with some pretty bad storms and the sun hasn't come out yet.  But anyway... my card features Queen & Co Love Jar kit and hello die by Hero Arts...

I also used a rounded corner stitched rectangle die by Pink & Main and the foliage is from a past Small DOM by Spellbinders.

So as you may know, Queen & Co specializes in fun and creative shaker cards but if you know me I'm not bit on lots of dimension.  I am all about making 1 postage stamp cards.  So this card, I'm trying to mimic an old Ball tinted glass jar.  Not really glass since you can't see through it, but hey, it's okay.  And instead of "Ball" and I have hello.  The paper stack that came in this bundle is just so pretty!  The pink foliage is the other side of the gray piece I used.  I used both sides of the paper.

My card is a very loosey goosey take on the sketch and I am just so pleased with it.  I hope to see you over at the TMS blog.  Be sure to leave some love for the team.  See you there.

Tuesday Morning Sketches #557

Hello! Thank you so much for stopping by.  The latest sketch is up at Tuesday Morning Sketches and this one is fun.  At first glance it could look a little intimidating but it's really not.

I created two cards.  Actually the first one I made last week and already mailed it out.  But Sunday night I had an idea come to me so I had to play again.

The first card features Queen & Co Friends Forever die and paper stacks...

This card started out as trying to be inspired by Laura Bassen and some of the cards she's been doing lately.  I failed miserably!  But this card turned out from it and I really like this idea.  The papers are so pretty and this can actually be a guy card as easily as a girl card.  I die cut the "friend" out of white fun foam so there's a little bit of dimension.  Then I finished it off with a few sequins.

This second card reminds me of an old technique of paper weaving...

This card was actually very easy to do.  I put 2 square dies together and then partially cut them.  I then cut the frames out of the patterned paper and placed it over the white card stock.  Now, here's my mistake.  I needed to cut that from a contrasting paper because otherwise it would've been easier to just cut the frames and stuck them down.  But!  If you see this card in real life it still looks like weaving with the bit of dimension.  I then finished it off with Nuvo drops (Silver Lining) and a simple sentiment from Simon Says stamp.

Thank you so much for stopping by.  Please head to the TMS blog to join us and leave some love for the team.  They did some amazing projects to share!
