Pretty Ribbon Flower

I am thrilled to finally be able to share with you my love for ribbon.  I am thankful to be one of the newest member's of the Ribbon Unlimited design team and I look forward to the opportunity to share my craft with you.

I don't have a little girl in my life that likes hair ribbons and bows, my daughter has outgrown them so my love for ribbon is how they dress up cards and other crafty projects.

The base of the card is an svg cut file by Lori Whitlock, but the real feature is the easy ribbon flower I created using Country Check light blue (3/8") and Double Face Satin green apple ribbons.

To make the flower I cut pieces of ribbon about 2 inches, folded them over and then stitched the middle together so the point is created.  Then I strung all 5 petals and pulled tightly.  I created the center by cutting out a flower shape from white felt and layered the ribbon flower, felt flower and button and sewed it all together.  The stem and leaves are pretty self-explanatory.

I hope you enjoyed my card and again, I look forward to coming up with fun and easy ideas to share with you.

Tuesday Morning Sketches #302

Good Morning!  The sketch is up at TMS and I love this one!  It's so easy - CAS!  There's no sponsor this week which means there's no pressure.  This is fun... this easy breezy.

My card features a fun and easy svg flower by Lori Whitlock (available on Silhoutte Online store and Lori Whitlock dot com), punched border by EK Success, paisley embossed background (Cuttlebug) and some pretty paper from Echo Park called Here & Now (designed by Lori Whitlock).  The flower is simply 3 layers plus a layer of leaves, all stacked and secured with a brad.  Can't get any easier than that!

Please join us at Tuesday Morning Sketches - it's fun!

Family Tree in Vinyl - Digi Playground

Hello friends!  Thank you for stopping by once again.  I have a fun project to share with you today.  This is how to up-cycle a garage sale picture frame or to embellish a new one (purchased at Michaels with a 50% off coupon).

My frame features Three Heart Tree by Jennifer Wambach.  She does have a few styles of this tree in the DigiPlayground store.  My frame is 8x8, so I sized the cut file down to just under 8 inches and then cut it out of black vinyl.  I took the frame apart to clean it really well and then carefully adhered the tree to front panel of glass.  Then I made a template the same size as the hearts and then cut out my pictures (of my kids) to go behind the hearts.  This was a little tricky but I love the results.  I used little pieces of Scor-Tape to secure the photos (mini glue dots will work, too).

Again, thank you for stopping by!

Tuesday Morning Sketches #301

Good Morning TMS friends!  I hope everyone had a good weekend and Monday.  My weekend was busy, but it was great.  The Revue Show was Saturday night and Hollyanne performed her solo again and it was beautiful.  I bawled my head off.  I know, such a sap.

Anyway, the newest sketch is up on the TMS blog, our sponsor this week is Stitchy Bear Digi Outlet and my card features BB Kakes - BabyBug Set.  Oh my goodness - so cute!!!

What a sweet, elfin face!!  I love love love this image.  I didn't include her little bug friends that she comes with, but seriously, you need this set in your collection if you're into over the top cuteness.

I kept my card pretty simple and basic.  Neenah Solar Crest card stock (yay! - I have some back in stash again) for the base and another layer embossed with a Chevron dot pattern.  The paper is from Citrus matstack by DCWV.  I kept the coloring simple with only a few Copics and then embellished with Marshmallow white sequins by Pretty Pink Post and simple stamped sentiment by Paper Pretties.

I hope to see you over at the TMS blog and thank you for stopping by.

Tuesday Morning Sketches #300

Good Morning!  The sketch is up and ready to go at TMS and it's another fun but super easy one.  This week's sponsor is my dear friend Deedee from Deedee's Digis.

My card is actually inspired by a project I made over the weekend that I will eventually share, but I was playing with a lot of Kraft!  It looks great.  But anyway, I decided to carry on with those colors.  The image I am featuring today is a butterfly from Fluttering By.

The card base is Kraft card stock by Recollections, designer paper is Kraft card stock by Paper Studio, washi tape from Freckled Fawn.

Thank you for stopping by and we'll see you at TMS.  Have a great Tuesday!

Tuesday Morning Sketches #299

Good Morning!  Happy Cinco de Mayo and it's Tuesday, so the newest sketch for TMS is is up and ready for you to play along with us.

Our sponsor this week is Sami Stamps and my card is featuring Flower Whiskers.  Now, I am not a cat person at all, but I'm not completely insensitive - kittens are adorable!  And this cat... well, my heart melted a little.

Look at that face!  Oh my goodness.  I kept the coloring really simple.  4 shades of Cool Grey (C1 to C7) for the cat and 2 shades of pink.  Those are new to me, so I don't remember their numbers.  When I colored this image, I was envisioning denim.  This paper came close.  It's Wallpaper by.... hmm, can't remember now.  I know, I should write this stuff down.  Anyway, I finished it off with some loopy satin ribbon and pink flower sequins by Pretty Pink Posh.

I hope you have a great Tuesday and come on and join us!  There's a great prize up for grabs.
