Tuesday Morning Sketches #396

Hello!  Thank you for stopping by.  The sketch is up at Tuesday Morning Sketches and it's a fun one.  I love this sketch!  I think you will, too.

My card features some beautiful papers from DCWV stack called The Linen Closet.  These are way different shades and patterns from the 4x6 mat stack I have by the same name.  My card also features a butterfly from the Beautiful Butterflies stamp set by MFT.  The colors used are Pool Play and Banana Cream by Fun Stampers Journey and Memento Rich Cocoa.

I did stamp a sentiment inside which is also by MFT.  I just forgot to take a picture.  I did use my MISTI to stamp this gorgeous butterfly so that I can double and triple stamp it to get this smooth, rich color.  If I didn't know any better, I'd swear this butterfly came from this same paper pack!

Tuesday Morning Sketches #395

Hi there!  Thanks for stopping by.   The sketch is up at Tuesday Morning Sketches and it's a fun one.   It's inspired by Jessi and I think it'll be a go to sketch for everyone.

My card features stamps by WPlus9 and Pink & Main.  I used the new Petunia Builders stamp set by WPlus9.  TMS is giving a $10 gift certificate to their store.  The sentiment is from Pink & Main - my signature stamp/die set.

I'm still working on getting the lighting right in this room.  I think I'm going to have to take outside, there's just too many shadows.  I stamped the images onto Bristol smooth card stock.  I picked this up in an effort to "watercolor" with Tombow markers - but I like how it holds the ink, too.  These layering stamps are so easy to use.  You don't really have to line them up in any special way.  Love that this is a Melissa-proof set - I can't mess it up!  I layered with Bubblegum card stock from MFT.  I then cut out the hugs sentiment from black fun foam.  I stamped the other words onto a white panel and then embossed it with a dot chevron embossing folder.  I was so careful to stick my hugs piece down so carefully and get it just right onto my card... then happened to notice the black piece that I was going to mat my white piece onto still on my table!  I forgot my layer - doh!  The black would have helped make everything pop, but I guess this works.   I finished it off with some hot pink sequins.

Please join us over at TMS to play along with us.  We'd love to see you there.  Be sure to visit the team, too.  Leave them some love.

Tuesday Morning Sketches #394

Hello!  Thank you for stopping by my blog today.  I am happy that you're here.  The sketch(es) are up at Tuesday Morning Sketches and certainly fun!  You'll see what I mean when you head on over there.

My card features some stamps/dies by Richard Garay that I picked up on clearance at Hobby Lobby.  So I figured since playing with those stamps I might as well pull out my Fun Stampers Journey card stock and inks.  I do wish that little business venture had taken off for me - I do like their products.

I apologize for the picture quality... new craft area and it's rainy and gloomy.  I need to practice with the lighting.  Even auto-correct didn't help much.  There is a little bit of detail in black circle piece that totally got washed out.  But still, it's a fun card and after I finished it I had to laugh at myself.  It reminds me of the decor in Blanche Devereaux's bedroom.

Do join us for the challenge - it's a lot of fun.  Also be sure to visit the team's blogs and leave them some love.  Thanks for stopping by!

Tuesday Morning Sketches #393

Hello!  Thank your for stopping by today.  I do appreciate your visit.  The newest sketch is up at Tuesday Morning Sketches and it's a fun one.  I love it and you're going to as well.

Our challenge is sponsored by DRS Designs and my card features two of their stamps.  Bird on a Branch and Happy Moments, Happy Days Greeting.  Perfect for a masculine card!

I was positively inspired by a couple of players last week who used text in their background.  I remembered that I have this cool paper in my stash and it worked great with the image.  I picked up an Archival Ink pad at 40% off so I can do a little (very little) watercolor.  I colored the bird with Tombow markers and blender pens on Bristol Smooth card stock.  The card is a blend of neutrals, some very muted robin's egg blue and Kraft.  I decorated the envelope as well.

The inside has this simple but beautiful greeting.

It's a perfect birthday greeting without even saying "HAPPY BIRTHDAY."  It can be added if one so chooses.  I am just so pleased with how this turned out.

Please be sure to visit the team's blogs, too.  They'd love to hear from you.

Have a great day and we'll see you soon!
