Tuesday Morning Sketches #582

Hello and thank you so much for stopping by.  The sketch is up at Tuesday Morning Sketches and it's a fun one.  I thoroughly enjoyed playing with it!

My cards... yes, I said cards!  I made two.  My cards feature the November Large Die of the Month from Spellbinders.  This die set brought back my love of stitching.  My first crafts I started doing as a pre-teen was counted cross stitch.  This isn't counted cross stitch but was fun playing with a needle and thread.

This first card I used paper from an old Christmas 12x12 pack designed by Heidi Swapp.  I used a Martha Stewart snowflake punch, a wonky stitched oval die from Kat Scrapiness and a sentiment stamp from Simon Says Stamp.

This card, I mean, in real life this card is a show stopper!  My sister was left speechless.  So that's a great compliment, right?  I used gold and silver metallic embroidery floss, gold and silver foil card stock and finished it off with some Nuvo drops and a gold half bead.

I took this picture so you hopefully can see all the shine and the embossing I did on that smaller silver panel.  Embossing foil card stock is so effective - it captures the detail so well!

The corner pieces I cut from the other die that's in this set - it's a border.  I'm sure you've seen these on Instagram or if you follow Jennifer McGuire closely.

Anyway, I appreciate your visit.  I hope to see you over at the TMS blog playing along with us.  Leave the team some love.  And Happy Thanksgiving to you all in the US.  I hope your holiday week is filled with blessing and love.

Tuesday Morning Sketches #581

Hello!  Thank you for stopping by my blog.  The latest sketch is up at Tuesday Morning Sketches and it's one for one of the hottest trends right now.  Slimline card.  This is the 2nd one we've featured on the blog but I have to admit, I'm still struggling with it.  To be honest, I'm not a fan.

My card features some flower dies and border die from Pink and Main and a sweet sentiment my sister sent me in a goodie box from CTMH.  This is a really simple note card, I like it but I am not a fan of this slimline style.

It's hard to photograph, too!

Anyway, I'll stop complaining.  I cut some squares from a pack of paper that I got in a Simon Says Stamp monthly kit awhile back.  I then die cut the flowers from white cardstock and adhered to squares.  As I said, this is an easy note card with lots of white space.  And I adore the sentiment!

Please join us at the TMS blog - the design team did a way more amazing job with the sketch.

Tuesday Morning Sketches #580

Hello!  Thank you for stopping by my blog.  The latest sketch is up at Tuesday Morning Sketches and this one is by Debbie.  Simple elements with so much possibility.  That's my kind of sketch!

If you know me, then you know I am a sucker for a snowman.  I love those adorable, fluffy, frozen creatures in just about any shape, size or form.  So you know when the Small Die of the Month for November was sneak peeked from Spellbinders, I was not skipping this month's kit!  I was happy that it came in the mail Saturday so that I could play with it right away!

I kept this card fairly simply.  I used that same Winter Wonderland paper pack that I used a couple of weeks ago, partly because it was still on my desk, but mostly because it couldn't have been more perfect for how I wanted this card to look.  I used the stitched rectangle dies from Pink and Main to cut out the paper panel.  For the circle element, I used the stitched slope dies from Kat Scrappiness, then layered those onto a piece of vellum.  Then I cut the circle out using stitched circle dies also from Pink and Main.  I used an older Small DOM set for the sentiment.

I think this turned out great!  Was really easy to put together, even with all the little pieces to the snowman.

I hope to see you over at the TMS blog joining in the fun and be sure to leave some love for the team.

Tuesday Morning Sketches #579

Hello - thank you for stopping by my blog.  The latest sketch is up at Tuesday Morning Sketches and it's a nice sketch.  I have to say when I designed this sketch I was thinking snowflakes and ornaments but when I sat down to work on this card, I couldn't get what I was thinking out onto paper.

This card features a cute svg owlurkey I found in the Silhouette online store, the paper is more digital paper from that same Fall #2 pack by Echo Park I used last week.  I have to say this card is not as cute as last week.  I just really struggled with paper crafts over the weekend.  And I forgot to photo the inside that has a super cute large sentiments that says "in owl things give thanks."

The turkey is adorable but the card is just lacking something.  Oh well, thank God I have a team that is amazing and they'll outshine my card hand over fist!

We'll see you over at the TMS blog!
