Jaded Blossom - Hey Boo!

Hello friends, I'm here with another Jaded Blossom card share. This month is flying by way too quickly! There's so much that I want to share with you and still so much more I want to make.

Although I don't make Halloween cards normally, I couldn't pass up an idea I had in my head. Supplies used:

Gnome Dies: Spooky Add-On's

The paper I used is for the background is a digital print that I purchased from Etsy. The "hey" was made by using a special font. It's so funny to me that I only discovered Jaded Blossom about a year ago and I have a lot of super cute things from them, everytime I get an idea, I scrunch my nose and say to myself, eeehhhh, no, you don't have that. This is what I love about Jaded Blossom, they have reminded me how much I loved paper dolls as a little girl and I can mix & match.

I cut the girl gnome and used the strap and buckle from the Thanksgiving set to make the band on her witch's brim. I cut out the tea kettle from the add on set, the frog and "boo" from the Spooky add on set.

I hope I inspired you to mix and match your dies to create something witch-fully fun and toadally adorable!

Jaded Blossom - Snow Owl fun fold card

Hello! I'm here with a card style that is currently trending. This is a really easy card to make and it's pretty impressive. But what really makes a card? The focal point, right? I just got the Gnome Friends Owl die and had to play. Before I got it, my mother and I were definitely oohhing and ahhing over it. She said when I got it she wants to see a Christmas card. Well, I'm not quite ready for Christmas, but I did want to create something wintry.

So, here it is. My snow owl card and isn't she the most adorable owl you've ever seen! Oh my gosh, I love her so much!

I die cut in out of white card stock and snipped off the head feathers (whatever they're called - I'm sure there's a name). Then added some gray feathers and these owls have yellow eyes so I made sure to color those in. Viola! Perched her on a snowy branch with some beautiful winter themed patterned paper.

I hope you love this card as much as I do!

Jaded Blossom - October Challenge - CASE Me

Jaded Blossom - October Guest Designer!

Hi! I am so excited to be October Guest Designer for Jaded Blossom. I got picked way back in February - you can imagine how I've been wishing my life away for October to hurry and get here! It's finally here and I have a super cute card to share!

For my first post, I hadn't been able to play with the mini-Gnomes since I bought them when they released so this was the perfect opportunity.

I pulled out some old patterned paper that was in my stash from Jelly Bean and began to create my scene. My idea was to create an anniversary card, or just a card to tell someone how much they mean. Picture this: a beautiful night sky, with a full moon in a park that's strung lights. A band playing in the gazebo. And you and your loved one sitting on a blanket, enjoying a little picnic.

I used Mini Girl Gnomes, Mini Boy Gnomes and Gnome Kisses stamp set.

I'm coming back to old friends

 Hi!  It's been awhile since I posted anything on my blog.  I'm afraid it's going to way of the dinosaurs and at the loss of my challenge blog, Tuesday Morning Sketches, it just wasn't in me anymore to post.

But I am back.  I am hoping for design team work to come my way and if anything, it's my personal photo album of things I've made and wanted to share.

Color Dare #640

 Hello!  Thank you for stopping by.  Color My Heart Color Dare #640 is up and ready for your fun and creativity!  And I am back for the challenges!

The colors we're using are...

Shades of brown really intrigued me.  This is could either go really well or way south!  I am so glad my card didn't go south.  I am really happy with this!

I used different specialty card stocks from Tonic Studio - from the bottom up, Glazed Chestnut Pearlescent card, Coffee Cream Pearlescent card and Burnished Rose Mirror card.  I cut these in strips and then adhered to a scrap piece of card.  I then embossed it using a 3D embossing folder from Tonic Studios.  I then added a circle of vellum.

I die cut the sprigs which are from Spellbinders from the same card.  The sentiment banner I embossed using Bubbly embossing powder from Brutus Monroe which is a champagne gold color and it's beautiful!  Then finished this off with some Dream Drops.

Color Dare #638

The colors we're using are...

My card was a lot of fun to make.  I pulled out some Distress Ink and a watercolor brush and just had fun.  I painted my background with swipes of ink and water on watercolor paper.  When it was dry I then used a stencil and some Opal Chroma Glaze to get the bunch of butterflies.  I then painted some heavy vellum with the same glaze and let it dry.  I die cut the big butterfly from that.

Just look at this shimmer...

It's very hard to capture but in real life, it's gorgeous!

The colors we're using are...

I am working on a special tag album.  The front is more for show, art journal type...

Featuring some gorgeous dies from Tonic Studios, as well as a stencil and a mica mist on a Mixed Media Jumbo tag from Brutus Monroe.  This is just fun to look at with a way mellowed out Valentine's theme.  One I can live with since we all I am not a fan of Valentine's Day.  But I don't have anything against hearts and flowers.

The back of it features a February calendar and a little envelope to write down a special memory or moment or thought for the month.  Maybe even tuck in a picture to go along with the message.

This started when I participated in the Craft Challenge last week where the perimeters were Project: Tag, Element: January, Colors:  Disney and Random: Branch.  So I made this....

So think Belle having a snowball fight with Beast in her lovely red cloak.  And the back...

I plan on making the whole year and I also want to make one that features Gnome of the Month!

Making Cards With Friends - Mon Night - Gnome-man

 Hello!  I have no idea what to say.... Ha!  I've gotten so used to having my blog regimented for my design team stuff that I don't know how to write just a plain ol'blog post.

Some of you may know that I go live with my friends on YouTube on Sunday nights and then with Christy on Monday nights.  The channel is Making Cards With Friends.  We craft and laugh and just really have a great time.  Monday night started our Snowman series - last month was gingerbread.  My card for the snowman... I mean Gnome-man features the adorable gnomes from Jaded Blossom.

Just playing around... Gingerbread Shaker

 Hello!  This is such a crazy week for me!  I leave tomorrow for my roadtrip to LA to pick up my Mom.  My plan is to make it to Mobile by 7:30pm and then I'll drive the rest of the way to West Monroe.  We'll load up and start back.  It's also Christmas, but we'll be spending Christmas on the road.  It'll be okay though.  But that does leave away from my computer.  So I'm posting my 24th day of Christmas cards today on my blog and it'll get posted to Facebook/Instagram on Tuesday.  But I needed to make sure I could post this to Jaded Blossom shaker card challenge before I didn't have access to my computer.

I have recently discovered Jaded Blossom and it goes without saying I have fallen head over heels for the gnomes and gingerbread dies they carry.  I only have a few but am waiting for a couple of their dies to come back in stock to place another order.  This month's challenge is to create a shaker card.

 This card is huge!  It measures 6 1/2 inches square.  I don't usually make cards this big but this one needed all that real estate.  I created the snow globe shaker using circle dies, glitter card and elements from Jaded Blossom Gnome Gingerbread add-on set as well as little items from another set that is unbranded but I think it's a copy of a retired set from Honeybee Stamps.  Then I used the Gingerbread dies to create the two characters.  LOOK! AT! THOSE! FACES!!!  Oh my goodness - all the cuteness!!  The word joy was created from Waffle Flower alphabet dies.  The paper I used is from Pretty Little Studio.  The shaker bits are little peppermints from Jaded Blossom, suckers from the unbranded set and Pure Sheen Confetti in Opal Cream from Nuvo.

Tuesday Morning Sketches #787

 Hello!  Thank you for stopping by.  The latest and last sketch is up at Tuesday Morning Sketches.  After 15 years of sketches, it's time to sunset the challenge blog.  We will still have our Annual Anything Goes Challenge next week but after that, TMS will be a happy memory.

Our last sketch is an amazing and easy one by Debbie.  My card features a sweet little ginger from Jaded Blossom, some adorable paper and a die cut sentiment.

I did forget the one vertical element but it's not needed when you look at that adorable gingerbread boy.  I recently discovered Jaded Blossom and I am so hooked!!  The sentiment is die cut from black card, the dies are from Spellbinders, Holiday Hugs.  Hugs is a little wonky looking, but we all need some wonk in our lives.  The paper is from an adorable paper pad I picked up from Brutus Monroe.

Tuesday Morning Sketches #785

 Hello! Thank you for stopping by my blog.  Please leave a comment, say hello.  The latest sketch is up at Tuesday Morning Sketches and it's another great one by Debbie.

My card features items from the Timeless Tidings Collection from Tonic Studios and a really cool technique I woke up to.  More on that in a minute.  Let's look at the card first.

I used the paper from the 8x8 paper pad, a piece of ephemera from the Toppers and the Mistletoe Showers embossing folder. 

Now the technique I woke up to.  I have a habit of watching YouTube and falling asleep in my chair.  So I woke up to a video by GinaK where she was showing how to create this wood technique.  It starts off with taking a card stock panel and scoring lines - I did 1/2" intervals.  Then using an ink pad and "scraping" edge to edge to create streaking.  I used Tea Stain and just a little Peacock Feathers.  Then with the backside of the folder embossed the image.  So on the debossed side I used Walnut Stain and repeated the streaking.  This is the coolest looking panel!

I added just a bit of paper to finish off the card.

Tuesday Morning Sketches #784

 Hello friends!  Thank you for stopping by.  The latest sketch is up at Tuesday Morning Sketches and it's a good one from Debbie.

My card features an old stamp set from Pink and Main, but it's one of my favorites.  If you have followed me for a long time you may remember that I designed for Michelle Currie when she had her digital shop called Designs on Cloud 9.  She had some school themed owls that I loved so much and these owls have that same whimsical design that I absolutely adore.

I believe the set is called Happy H-owl-idays.  I am also featuring some wonderful paper by Vicki Boutin available at Brutus Monroe.  The dots are a little bit crazy, but so fun.  These are from a stencil from Brutus Monroe, Duo Gel from ThermoWeb and Cheer Foil from Pink and Main.

The sentiment is also from Pink and Main that's been foiled and then the white letters I blended on some black ink.   Oh! And the ornaments on the wreath were also foiled.  Okay, so I did go a little over the top, but it was so much fun.

Tuesday Morning Sketches #783

 Hello! Thank you for stopping by.  The latest sketch is up at Tuesday Morning Sketches and it's a pretty one.  But remember, it's just a jumping off point for wherever your creativity wants to take you.

My card features the November Stamp of Month and Foil of the Month from Pink & Main.  I was only subscribing to the foil until I saw this stamp set.  I just had to have it!!

First, I foiled one of the panels that came with the foil.  This is a great value kit.  You get a roll of foil that I think is 20 ft!  It'll last forever!  And it's in one of my favorite colors but with a satin finish which is gorgeous!  The arch I decided to make an igloo.  Okay it doesn't look a lot like an igloo but give me props for trying.  LOL  Then I stamped these cuties from the stamp set. The sentiment is from 2 months ago kit and I could have foiled it but I left as black and white to tie in the black mat.

Here's close up of the foil.  What did I tell ya!  Gorgeous, right!!

My card features papers and ephemera from the November card kit from Echo Park.  This was such an easy card to put together and will be great for mass production.  I'm hoping to have time in the coming weeks to make a bunch of these to donate.

This is a card with is under an ounce so easy on postage.  This is great for using scraps and letting the paper do all the work.  Now you don't have to dress your card down like I have.  You can go all out!  Please head over to the TMS blog to join us and be inspired by the Design Team.

Tuesday Morning Sketches #781

 Hello friends.  Thank you for stopping by.  The latest sketch is up at Tuesday Morning Sketches and this one is great for scraps, pretty papers or strips of foil like I've done.

My card features the AALL & Create Gingers Gingerbread stamp set.  AALL & Create is new to me, but my friend Christy absolutely loves them.  They're a little weird but they are cute and if you know me, there are 2 things in the winter/Christmas I cannot say no to, Snowman and Gingerbread.  

My card starts of with a Kraft base - this is Kraft card from Tonic Studios and I'm not sure I like it.  It feels different.  Anyway, the next layer is a foilable base with green satin foil - this was last month's Foil of the Month from Pink and Main.  This green is absolutely stunning!  My stripes are also from foil from Pink and Main.

I stamped the image and colored with various Copic colors.  My markers are so neglected - a lot of them are drying out.  And look at these little gingies!!  Oh my gum drop buttons!!  They are so adorable!!

The sentiment was an extra with last month's Foil of the Month.  There are so many extra foilable holiday greetings that were included!  I used the same Sparkle Gold Cheer Foil on the sentiment that I did the strips.  For the strips I used 2 different sizes of Scor-Tape.

Tuesday Morning Sketches #780

 Hello! Thank you for stopping by.  The latest sketch is up at Tuesday Morning Sketches.  This one should be pretty easy but I have to admit I was a little stumped.

My card features the Safari stamp set from Brutus Monroe which was absolutely perfect with this month's Pink & Main foil of the month.  I honestly thought I'd skip this one because animal print is not necessarily my thing.  But I decided to just give it a try.  So glad I did!

I foiled one of the panels that came with the subscription with the animal print foil.  I then inked the panel with Brushed Corduroy Distress Oxide ink.  I let this dry for a few minutes and then using a microfiber cloth, wiped the panel so that foil would be shiny again.  I cut the panel down and then rounded the corners.

The main panel I inked with Twisted Citron, Shabby Shutters, Tumbled Glass and something Lagoon.  I stamped the grass all over the green to create a little drinking pool.  I did stamp the zebra separately, die cut added to the panel.  Then stamped the sentiment.  I think this turned out really nice.

Tuesday Morning Sketches #779

My card features a foilable card panel from Brutus Monroe, an embossing folder from Tonic Studios as well as sentiment.  This is such an easy card that you make so many for your card stash.  Leave the sentiment off so you can customize the occasion when one arises.

I started of by cutting a panel of this hot pink card, I think it's Craft Perfect card but I'm not certain of the color.  I ran it through my die cut machine with the beautiful floral 3D embossing folder.  I then took this card panel from Brutus Monroe (no longer available but there are other choices) and foiled with some pretty gold foil.  After the foiling I did some very simple coloring with ink and blender brushes.  I die cut the oval out and then added a sentiment.  I had some ribbon on my table so I just thought I'd use it with my sentiment.

Here I'm hoping you can see the foil.  Foiled cards are so hard to photograph.  It's subtle and so pretty.
