Tuesday Morning Sketches #551

The latest sketch is up at Tuesday Morning  Sketches and this one is by Debbie.  It's a really great sketch - great for using up scraps or showcasing some fun washi.  It's also great to show off an amazing focal image.

I have two cards today.  This first one features a Christmas die from Spellbinders.  I actually picked this up recently (a couple of months ago) at Hobby Lobby on clearance.  Normally it sold for $14.99 and I got it for $3.74 - what a bargain!  I'll be using this to make my Mom's Christmas cards.

I also pulled out some paper that I have had for a very long time and cut the strips using a die from MFT Stamps.  The bow and the hangar part of the ornament is cut from pink metallic paper.  This was a really easy card to put together.

My 2nd card features the Magical Characters II bundle from Queen & Company that I bought to make birthday cards for Levi and Courtney.

Isn't this fun?  I am missing Disneyworld - even though I never go, it makes me sad to know it's still closed and will be for at least another month.  I think of my friend Kelly who works for Disneyworld in a call center and am thankful that she's still working.  But I worry for how much longer.

I did leave off the tag element at the bottom left of the card (see the sketch) because I really couldn't think of anything to add.

Tuesday Morning Sketches #550

Hello and thank you for stopping by!  The latest sketch is up at Tuesday Morning Sketches and it's brought to us by Patti!  It's so fun - I love that she drew it on her iPad and I love that it looks so playful.

My card features a couple of Small Die KOM's from Spellbinders, the paper is from Pink and Main (Beach Bum), Schoolhouse Red cardstock from Simon Says Stamp and the kraft cardstock is from Recollections.

Originally, I was thinking about making this into a shaker card so I cut the sentiment directly into the patterned paper and then the kraft laid overtop.  But then I let go of the shaker idea and was just happy with the low profile card.

I am really happy with how this turned out and it's a color combo I don't normally use so that makes me even happier with the results.

My card features the Vintage Frame Glimmer plate by Spellbinders.  I had so many fails for foiling that I went with a letterpress technique.  This card also features dies from other Spellbinders KOM's.  This card screams Spring!

I went crazy with flowers and Nuvo Drops!  It's a really happy card.

Tuesday Morning Sketches #548

Hello!  Thank you for stopping by.  I appreciate your visit.  The latest sketch is up at Tuesday Morning Sketches and it's such a fun one created by LJ.

My card features items from a past Simon Says Stamp monthly kit.  The stamp set is called Bee Yourself, the paper is from a stack by Honey Bee Stamps called The Bee's Knees, the die also came from the kit.  I pulled out some Nuvo Drops, too!

This was a simple card to put together and I am so pleased with the results.  It's a fun, bright and happy card - which is pretty perfect for the time we're in right now.

I hope you're staying at home, only going out when absolutely necessary and avoiding human contact as much as possible.  I have to say I am loving video chat even more these days.

Just Playing Around.....

Hello! Today is the last day to enter Ellen Hutson's challenge to think of our Seniors.  I already made 8 cards and here are 5 more.

This card features Stars embossing folder by Park Lane (JoAnn's) and these adorable Rainbow/Clouds dies from Pink and Main.  The sentiment is from Raisin Boat.  I love how this card turned out.  It's so girly!

Since the die cuts out 6 strips for the rainbow, automatically you're making 6 cards.  One will be sent to the cancer patient I send weekly cards to and the rest for the nursing home.

I did draw inspiration from a couple of challenges.  The sketch is from Freshly Made Sketches and the idea came from Festive Friday pick 3 inspo list.  I chose rainbow, sequins and stars.

Tuesday Morning Sketches #547

Hello! Thank you so much for stopping by.  I appreciate your visit.  The latest sketch is up at Tuesday Morning Sketches and I hope you're going to enjoy working with it.

So this week is birthday week.  My youngest son's 21st birthday is Friday and his girlfriend turns 21 tomorrow.  It's sad that this is such a milestone birthday and we'll not be able to celebrate it by going out to dinner or having a party.  We may still have a party but within limits.  My sister was even going to fly in for the occasion and celebrate Levi's birthday with us Friday and Hollyanne's (my daughter) birthday, which is not until April 6th, on Saturday.  We were all going to Disney World.  Now her trip is canceled, Disney is closed and we're all stuck here at home.

But I'm still bringing a bit of Disney to us all....

This is actually Courtney's 2nd birthday card - I ruined the first one.  My card features Magical Characters II by Queen & Co (yes, I splurged).  These stamps and dies are so cute!!!  They make 4 different character hats and because they are from Queen & Co - they make shaker cards.  My card also features heart border punch by Martha Stewart and digital paper I bought from an Etsy shop.  The bow is cute from black card stock and you can't see in this picture but the white dots are from white glitter paper that I punched out and glued on.  Then I die cut the red glitter paper and overlayed the black and the white dots.  The sentiment is die cut from the January or February small die club kit from Spellbinders.

Okay - here's the card I ruined.  It looked so plain to me after I took this photo that I decided to try to add some sparkle with Stickles and that turned out to be a huge gloppy mess!  Ruined!! The paper that came in the bundle... the beautiful set of Minnie ears destroyed!

I just couldn't leave well enough alone!  Ugh.  If I had just put the birthday sentiment on it, it would have been fine.  But no!  Oh well, I really like the card I'll be giving her.

The card features digital paper that I got from an Etsy shop, a Simon Says Stamp edge die and some gold foil card stock that came in a SSS monthly card kit some time ago... or maybe it was Spellbinders.  It's been that long - can't remember where.  Anyway!  And to give credit, although not entering their challenge, the sketch came from Create a Smile Stamps.

Good evening.  Thank you for stopping by.  I am actually posting something other than Tuesday Morning Sketches - I haven't done that for a long time.  It's almost like I have forgotten how to stamp for the fun of it.  There's always a purpose.  LOL.... and it's not any different this time, too.

Ellen Hutson threw down a challenge to make cards to send to a local nursing home to bring a bit of cheer and joy to some elderly folks who cannot receive visitors right now and who may not use electronic devices to stay in touch with friends and family.  I am all about reaching out to these people.

This first card features dies from Spellbinders.  The "sending" is from the January of February small die KOM and the butterfly is from another small die KOM from sometime last year.  I die cut the "hugs" from letter dies from Sizzix that I picked up at Hobby Lobby a while ago.  The paper I used is from a 12x12 stack from Michaels and the card base is from JoAnn's Park Lane that I got when they first started introducing that brand.  the envelope that is behind the card is made from the same paper stack and my 123 punch board.  Really simple card and I think it turned out really nice.

This second card features a turn about stamp from Concord & 9th.  I actually played along with a couple of challenges.  Just Us Girls color challenge (blue, green and yellow) and the sketch is from Freshly Made Sketches.
