Happy Monday Challenge...

Good Morning!  Yes, I know it's Wednesday - but I just had to play with Deedee's sketch featured this week for the Happy Monday Challenge.  To join in the fun, just head on over to the Crafting with Deedee's Digis blog.

My inspiration for this card came from the cold that my children and I have been passing to each other for the past couple of weeks.  Get Well cards are always nice to have on hand particularly with cold and flu season.

I had a lot of fun making this card - it's great for using paper piecing although a bit tricky with the great details that Deedee puts into her digis.  I printed out some fabulous digi paper that is perfect for this Autumn season and works for either a feminine or masculine card.  I also added some faux stitching with a white gel pen.  When I was finished with my faux stitching, I had to laugh - it's about as straight as my real stitching is.  I guess next time I better use a ruler!

Supplies:
Card stock:  Neenah Classic Crest, Chocolate Chip, Always Artichoke (SU)
Digi Paper:  Apple Festival Kit (ACOT)
Copics:  B000, E34, E37, E57, R29, RV13, Y15, Y17
Stamps/Ink:  Mini-Messages (PTI), Jet Black (Staz-On)
Tools:  White gel pen
Embellishments:  large brad (unk)

I hope you like the card - I had so much fun making it. It also felt really good to spend some quality time making cards this past weekend.  I feel like I am slowly finding myself again.  Thank you so much for stopping by!

Tuesday Morning Sketches #66

Good Morning Everyone!  I hope your week is going well so far.  I am still getting settled into the groove at work but I guess it's going well.  They haven't told me yet not to bother showing up tomorrow!  LOL

Anyway, I have a really fun sketch for you over at Tuesday Morning Sketches and we have the sweet images from Tiddly Inks showcased.  Tiddly Inks is sponsoring and I hope is a frequent sponsor because I absolutely adore these images!

Is this not the cutest image?  It's actually called Bah-Huggabuggs but is not bah-humbug.  The holly paper is also from Tiddly Inks and coordinated so well with the image.

Cup of Cocoa

Good Morning!  I hope you all had a great weekend and the kids enjoyed a fun and safe Halloween.  We had a great time although it was rather strange to be out trick-or-treating in 85 degree weather.  That's too hot for Halloween in my opinion.  But it was fun.

I have some really exciting news to share.  At least this is exciting for me.  A dream came true for me - I am one of the newest Design Divas for Sweet n Sassy Stamps!!  I know, I have recently had the honor of being a Guest Designer for The Sweet Stop (the challenge blog) and Sweet n Sassy Digis blog - but now I am a Design Diva!!  Ever since discovering SNSS, I have dreamt of being on the team.  Thank you Korin for giving me this gift.

And it's the beginning of a brand new month which means new releases.  Now many of us have Cup of Cocoa in our digi collection, but it's being released in a wonderful stamp set.  The set features the sweet Cocoa and 4 wonderful sentiments.

I created this card using the inspiration from Cute Card Thursday's challenge called So Transparent.  The middle of the card is a transparency and I am so happy with how this card turned out!

Here's the inside of the card.  My son is so proud of me that the inside is decorated.  Of course with this type of card, you kinda have to do some inside decoration.

Just another shot so you can see the clear part of the card.

Supplies:
Card stock:  Neenah Classic Crest, Night of Navy (SU)
Paper:  Christmas Stack (DCWV)
Copics:  B95, B97, B99, E34, E37, R27, R29, RV000, RV02, RV10
Tools:  Snowflake border punch (Martha Stewart), CM circle cutters, Coluzzle circle cutter, Scallop circles Nestabilities (Spellbinders), transparency (office supplies store)
Embellishments:  fabric (Rag Tag)

Also, did you see the badge about the blog hop?  Sweet n Sassy Stamps is turning 3!  So mark your calendars and come join the fun!

Have a super great day and thank you so much for stopping by!

Happy Halloween

Good Morning!  Have you missed me?  Please tell me you have - because I certainly have missed creating and posting and sharing and all that stuff!!  It's been a busy week.  My new job has me in a bit of a whirlwind.  Training, which is supposed to be 3 weeks, was crammed into a week and a half and were already taking calls.  I've been on phones for 3 days now and it's getting a bit easier.  So I am hoping that with settling into my job and establishing my comfort level, that I will be able to get back to stamping.

My new friend Evelyn and I decided to make goodie bags Thursday night for the people in our training class, the managers and a the few others that we knew at work.  We baked these super yummy cookies that are chock full of butter, oats, raisins, walnuts and the most important ingredient - CHOCOLATE!  I made tags.  I was really disappointed in myself that I hadn't taken my camera with me so I didn't get a picture - well I had a few bags leftover, so now I can show you what we did.

Here's a close up of the tag I made.  I kept them really simple because we were making 50 bags up the night before we were to deliver them.  I think they came out really cute.  I used Deedee's Digis Batty Boo set and then added a text box for our names.

I put them in a basket and left on them on the table for my kids.  They were pretty excited!

Well, today I am going to try to get as much stamping done as I can!  I just finished one card that I'll share at the end of this week.  I will also be sharing some exciting news very soon, too!  At least its exciting to me.  Have a super Saturday and Happy Halloween!!

Thankful Thoughts Blog Hop

Fall is such a marvelous time of year! God's great bounty is so very visible -- in the harvest of crops that will sustain us through the coming winter, in the glorious display of leaves and foliage, and in so many other ways! It is little wonder that we find ourselves feeling thankful thoughts at this time of year particularly, though it is good to be thankful at all times.

Please join us today for a blog hop as the Deedee's Digis design team shares with you some of the ways we express our thankful thoughts through papercrafting. We hope our projects will inspire you to share some thankful thoughts of your own. Here's how the hop works:

* To participate, visit each of the participating designers' blogs to see a fun project using one of our digis, and leave a comment on their post for a chance to win a free digi of your choice from our store! You have until 12 noon ET on Sunday to comment. Each designer will choose a winner Sunday evening, and we'll announce them all here on Monday. Please be sure to check back then to see if you have won!

Melissa < --- You are here

* Before you go hopping off, be sure to leave a comment here, too for a chance to win a $15 credit at the store, spendable on any of our products. Again, you have until 12 noon Eastern time on Sunday to comment, and we will announce the winner here on Monday .

* And FINALLY...there is a little freebie for you on Crafting with Deedee's Digi's that is perfect for this Thanksgiving season.
I also made this card following a great sketch on Papertake Weekly.  I had a lot of fun with this sketch!

Thanks so much for joining us today. Now let's get to hopping! :-)

Tuesday Morning Sketches #64

Good Morning!  I hope you're week is off to a great start.  I have a really fun sketch to share with over at Tuesday Morning Sketches.  I do hope that you'll join us this week.  We're being sponsored by Bee Crafty and I know that you've seen her adorable digi images around and here on my blog.  I also added the twist to THINK PINK - October is Breast Cancer Awareness month.

This card was little tricky for me to do all that I wanted to do with it, but I managed.  It's definitely full of pink and hearts but I just wanted to convey the love that I have for my sister who is celebrating her 3rd year of being cancer free.

I did alter the image from Bee Crafty just a little.  The sweet little lady actually has a birthday hat on, so I removed that in my photo editing software and then drew a line to finish her head as best I could.  I also found an Awareness Ribbon somewhere on the internet (I should've written it down to give proper credit) that was in .gif format so it's transparent and "laid over top" the balloon nicely.

Supplies:
Card stock:  Neenah Classic Crest, Pretty in Pink, Pink Pirouette (SU)
Paper:  Unknown (it's been in my stash for a long time!)
Images:  Little Lady Birthday (Bee Crafty), Awareness Ribbon (internet)
Copics:  B000, E00, E02, E34, E37, RV000, RV02, RV10, RV13, YR20
Tools:  Scor-Pal, Heart border punch (Martha Stewart), Glossy Glaze, corner rounder punch
Embellishments:  heart brads (my stash)

I would also like to challenge you, whether or not you play along with us, that you create a card and send it to a special woman in your life that may be affected by this horrible disease to encourage her through her battle or perhaps to someone to encourage them to do their self-exams and have their yearly check-ups. Early detection is key.

Thank you so much for stopping by today.  I do hope you join us this week.  Remember to Think Pink and Fight Like a Girl!!
