Back to School Preview

Hello Deedee's Digis fans!  Happy Friday!  Are you all ready for the weekend?  I am, but the kids aren't.  They've been hit with the reality that this weekend marks the end of July which means school starts in two weeks.

Deedee has been busy designing some really great images and I have the priviledge of previewing one for you here today.  This is from the School or Bust set and it's perfect for those Back to School cards and projects.  The set will be available for purchase on August 1st.

My card is a basic white base that I matted a piece of black card stock on.  I wanted this to represent a blackboard.  One my of first memories of school was the chalkboard and I was fascinated by the letters that went across the top of it.  I also used a library pocket and card as another school element to my card.  I love seeing Deedee's "friends" inside the bus eager to head to school.  I finished the card with some tape measure ribbon that I've had in my stash for awhile now.  Even my kids liked it despite what it reminded them of.  Truth be told, I think they're ready to head back to school, they are bored to tears!  LOL

Card stock:  Neenah Classic Crest, Black (Recollections)
Copics:  B00, B000, C8, C10, E33, R27, RV10, W-3, Y15, Y17, YG00, YG03, YR20
Tools:  Large oval punch (SU), white gel pen
Embellishments:  Library pocket and card, ribbon (Offray)

Thank you so much for stopping by today.  Have a super Friday and a great weekend!!

Melissa, this is just such a wonderful card! Fabulous coloring, and I ** all the different school details you pulled into it -- the blackboard complete with alphabet, the measuring tape, the library card and pocket. This is just so perfectly "school!" Enjoy the last couple weeks of your kids' vacation -- it goes by so quickly, doesn't it? Hugs, Deedee

This is just the cutest idea and amazing coloring! I don't know where my summer went but I don't want to think about school yet. I guess I'm going to have to milk the next few weeks good spending that extra time with my daughter!

Wonderful idea! I'm praying for you and keep wondering if you found a job yet?

Your card is perfect and it does remind me of a chalkboard. I absolutely love it. :-)
