Delightful Challenges Thursday - Farewell

Hello Everyone,

Yep, this is my farewell post to Delightful Challenges.  It's been a fun year sharing all the and very sweet images by Wendy.  I actually was really bad and didn't post any of my cards this month.  I have no reason why.  But I will share them all with you today.

This week's challenge - Seize the Daisy.  Use yellow/white or daisy.  My card features Flowering Watering Can.

I love this watering can image and I really wanted to give it it's at home setting.  Well what more at home than a garden with a white picket fence?

And now for a look back of the month of June challenges.

June 5th - All tied up.  My card features Painting Pierre.  I did a watercolor background and a hand-written sentiment.

June 12th - Tickled Pink.  My card features Teacup.  I should've made it just a tad bigger to against this pretty cut card.  I love the addition of the pearls.

June 19th - Hello Friend.  As you may be able to tell, Dilly Duck & Ladybug became a favorite since I've used this image a few times over the last few months.  I love this card base I created using my Portrait and the Dainty Bow die by Mama Elephant.  I love how this card came together.

Thank you so much for joining today, please head over to the Digital Delights challenge blog to play along.  Wendy, it's been a fun year. Thank you for allowing me another term with this fun blog.

Cheers!

Tuesday Morning Sketches #255

Hello Everyone!  Boy am I late getting this week's challenge going.  I got an email from Debbie, well 3 emails from Debbie wondering if I was OK.  I'm so sorry that I worried her and anyone else who might've been scratching their heads wondering where this week's sketch was.  I'm OK - just forgetful for a minute I guess.

Anyway, the sketch is up now at Tuesday Morning Sketches and we're sponsored by Digital Delights by Louby Loo.  I had the pleasure of being on the Delightful Challenge team for 2 years (nonconsecutive) and I really love Wendy's images.  Especially her Larry Bumblebee.  My card today features Flying By Larry Bumblebee....

I absolutely ADORE my card.  No humility here.  The colors, the image, the CLOUDS.  So my original idea was to cut a journal card that was all clouds and use as a stencil, but I liked the positive image of the clouds so much that I inked the edges and used them instead.  This would be a great baby card or little boy's birthday card.  Good think I leave my cards blank, so they can be customized.

Come on and join us at Tuesday Morning Sketches.

Silhouette Sunday

Hello everyone!  I hope your weekend is going well.  It hasn't been the cheeriest of ones at my house.  *sigh*

Anyway, so when my Mom was here a couple of weeks ago, she and I sat down to make a bunch of cards.  Well, I made a lot of cards, she watched!  LOL  It was a lot of fun.  I have recently discovered that Jamie Lane Designs is one of my favorite svg cut designers.  I tend to buy on the Silhouette Online store her cut files and Lori Whitlock's the most.  There are other designers that I love but there's something about there's that I am drawn, too.  Well, Jamie introduced several 3D cards that I thought were just beautiful and I just had to make them!

Then while my Mom and I were looking through the pages of the Silhouette Online store we found this bird card by Lori Whitlock.  We thought it was really cute and the paper that we chose really funk-a-fied this bird.  It didn't cut out like the picture (I expected the card base head to be rounded), but it still turned out great.

And, of course, we sat down at the kitchen table and while sipping on our coffee we watched You Tube videos.  Dawn Griffith has been a source of inspiration to me for years.  When I was a SU! demo and still.  Her videos are the only SU! commercials I will watch because she has a nice equal balance on card making/technique and the products.  She made these adorable cards that I HAD to try.  I don't have all the punches she does, so I turned to my Portrait.

The own head is cut from a labels shape svg and so is the heart.  The circles and scallop circle are punches and the moon is cut using the CM cutters.

Dawn's card is portrait orientation, she uses the cupcake builder punch from SU! - I used cut files that I found.  I think I should've sized them down just a bit more.  I love the awning.  I did use the word window punch.

I do hope you enjoyed my parade of cards today.  Thank you for stopping by.

Scrapbook Saturday with Deedee's Digis

Hi everyone.  Happy Saturday!  I completely forgot about my page for last week, so I'm off a little bit.  But that means I'll have a scrapbook page to share this week and next.  Then I need to get my behind back in gear and start posting again.... on time!

Today's page is just fun and whimsical.  I love these silly pictures of Hollyanne, Brendan and their Grandma.  I think their aunt is in the background of one of them.  No, Brendan really isn't picking his nose - he's just being.... Brendan.

My page features paper from My Life is Blessed and the flowers are from Little Miracles.  Both can be located quite easily in Deedee's Digis shop - and I am so happy that it's her VERY OWN shop.  How exciting is that!

Enjoy your Saturday and if it's a rainy one like I think mine is going to be, you might as well scrapbook.

Tuesday Morning Sketches #254

Good Morning!  Quick post today, the Tuesday Morning Sketches sketch is up and ready for you to play along.  We have Doodle Pantry joining us this week.  I just love Laurie's images, so sweet!

I'm not proud of my card at all.  I was obviously very tired because I missed the mark on so many levels.  I'm sorry.  But just look at the image, she's cute!  I'm featuring Baby Birdies.

I had envisioned so much more when I created the sketch.  Looks like I should've taken another week off!  LOL

Anyway, my team made some fabulous cards, go check them out!

Tuesday Morning Sketches #252

Good Morning TMS friends.  The new sketch is up and I created a really fun sketch for you, I think it's one that will go into your go-to file.  This week we're sponsored by Bugaboo and I am featuring Fancy Umbrella #4.

I am not super pleased with the inking on the circle element.  I was hoping for a softer shade.  Oh well.  The heart, cloud border and sentiment are all elements cut from the Silhouette Portrait.  The overly shaded piece is a Spellbinders die.

I do hope you'll join us at the TMS blog for some fun and inspiration.  Have a great Tuesday!

Silhouette Sunday

Hello.  It's been awhile since I've posted my Sunday Silhouette feature.  It's not that I haven't been creating with my Portrait, I just haven't felt posting worthy.  Not that anyone pays attention.  LOL

So I've been making this project for awhile now.  I literally started on this about the end of April and finished it yesterday with my mother's flower arranging help.  This is for my land-lady.

So here it is!  I made the vase, the gerbera daisies and the tea roses.  The greenery and the tiny flowers I got at the craft store.

The vase is a cut file that I got on the Silhouette Online store that is by Jamie Cripps.  The paper I picked up at Wal-Mart for $5, Luxe by Colorbok.  The base is Ivory Coast card stock by Raisin Boat.

The gerbera daisies are from an awesome collection called Mom's English Garden by SVG Attic.  I made them from Ruby Red, More Mustard and Old Olive card stocks by Stampin' Up!.  I did emboss the centers with Swiss Dots to give it a little bit of texture.

And the rose is 3D Medallion Tea Rose available at the Silhouette Online store and it is also by Jamie Cripps.

I hope you enjoyed my vase and I really hope Rita loves it.  She's from Guyana and I've only been to her home a couple of times, but as I recall she's decorated in the rich, deep colors that make me think of India. So I think these are going to fit in perfectly.

Enjoy your Sunday.  I'm off to start the coffee.
