Trick or Treat... smell my feet... give me something good to eat

Hello everyone!  Happy Halloween to those who enjoy this spooky, creepy and sweet holiday.  A word about my title - when my sisters and I were little we used to drive my mom crazy saying that.  She said we were being rude.  We never actually went to a neighbor's door trick or treating saying that, but it would bother my mom and we thought that was hilarious!

I love Halloween.  I don't get all creepy and scary or evil or anything like that.  I just love remembering my kids in their costumes and I super enjoy seeing other's little kids in theirs.  I also love making Halloween projects.  This is the last one I have to share with you.

Easy, adorable and done in minutes!  I used the Deckle Treat Bag and the Haunted House Silhouette cutting files to create these little treats for my co-workers.  They loved them!  I used some plain black card stock from Michaels for the bag and the Halloween stack of decorative paper also from Michaels.  These were perfectly sized for 3 pieces of candy.

Aren't they fun!  Now this treat bag can be sized bigger or smaller and change up the paper and you have sooo many options.  Birthdays, Christmas, Hanukkah, Easter, Valentine's, Because I like you... you name it, you make this treat bag into that!  This is a MUST HAVE file.

Best Witches to all my crafty ghoul-friends.

Tuesday Morning Sketches #273

Good Morning!  Happy Tuesday.  The sketch is up and ready to go for you creating pleasure at the TMS blog and this week we're sponsored by Doodle Pantry.  My card features an adorable digi and sentiment from the Just Nutty set.  I'm using the colored version.

I'm still playing with lots of vibrant Fall colors.  Don't forget to set your clocks back 1 hour this weekend, too, that means you get an extra hour to play along with the challenge, too!

I hope to see you at the TMS blog and have a great Tuesday!

Silhouette Sunday

Hello everyone.  I hope you're enjoying your weekend.  Mine has been a little busy, but at least today I can relax and craft between loads of laundry.

Today I have a Fall decoration that made using an svg file I got at SVG Attic.  I had so much fun making this and personalizing it.  It now sits on my desk at work and just love looking over at it.  Tell me what you think.

Isn't this fun?!  I love it.  The F and L's are little boxes, which to honest, I didn't understand but I suppose one could put plastics beads for weight inside.  I think my favorite is that bushel of apples.

I used paper from Colorbok - a stack that I picked up at Wal-Mart for $5.  The weight is very light so you'll want to set your settings on your Silhouette for copy paper and use a light tack cutting mat.  This worked best for me.

He's an adorable scarecrow.  Look at that smile.  I embossed the bushel basket with the Textiles embossing folder by Cuttlebug and then inked the edges for depth.  After putting the "binding" around the top and middle I put in antique finish mini-brads on every other slat.

I then cut two flaps off a card board box.  On one of them I ripped the top layer off to reveal the corrugated center and then hot glued the two pieces together to create a stable bottom.  Then hot glued each letter to the base.

I hope you enjoyed my project today.  Please leave me a comment to let me know you visited.

Thank you!
Hugs,
Melissa

Tuesday Morning Sketches #272

Good Morning!  It's Tuesday and we have another great sketch for you.  This one is created by Nina, our newest team member.  What a great basic sketch....

Our sponsor this week is Sweet n Sassy Stamps, I am featuring Pumpkin Patch digital stamp.  Since I live in Florida, I have to create the vibrant colors of fall.  The sentiment is from a stamp set by Raisin Boat and the paper is from a Colorbok stamp I picked up at Walmart.

Head on over to the TMS blog to join us.  Have a great day!

A Perfect Autumn Day

Hi!  Happy Sunday.  I have a favorite stamp company, CC Designs.  My favorite lines of characters are the Pixies and the Sugarplums.  I think these are the best!  Well CC Designs is doing a design team call and once again, I'm applying.  I think I've applied for about 5 years now and I'm hoping one day that I'll get picked.

Today I created a little fall decoration.  I have to create the colors of fall in order to feel the season (I live in Florida), I have been very busy making decorations.  This one will up probably decorate the wall of my home office.

I started this project with a cut file by Lori Whitlock (the frame).  Then I created my little scene using several stamps by CC Designs:  Sugarplums Plums Pumpkins, Sugarplums Swing and a Sugarplums Emma that I believe is retired.  I did sponge the card stock with Simon Says Stamp ink, Sea Glass for the sky and Peeled Paint Distress Ink for the grass.  I then "thumped" 4 or 5 different colors along to bottom to create the illusion of piled up leaves.  Then I finished it off with a phrase cut file by Echo Park.

I hope you like my project and wish me luck!

Haunted House Step Card

Hello everyone,

Thank you for coming by my blog.  Please leave a comment, let me know you were here.

Today I am featuring a fun step card I made using Haunted House Silhouette cut file by Designs on Cloud 9.  I love how this turned out....

I really like how this card turned out.  The papers are from the Halloween collection of paper I got from Michaels.  I added a bit of "goo" to the spider web using glossy accents and highlighted the black elements in Picket Fence Distress paint.

Again, thank you for stopping by.  Have a great Friday!

Tuesday Morning Sketches #271

Good Morning!  Happy Tuesday!  The sketch is ready for you at TMS and it's time for the Judged Challenge.  This week we're doing holidays.  Our sponsor is DRS Designs and I am featuring Silhouette Haunted House.

I love Jessi's sketch - so much possibility for pattern and texture and you really have opportunity for wild imagination!

I went with pretty simple.  I picked up a 12x12 Halloween paper pad by Recollections at 60% off so I wanted to be sure to showcase some of the great patterns that are in this paper collection.  You'll see it later on this week, too.

Head on over to the TMS blog and join in the "holiday" fun.

Silhouette Sunday with Kelleigh Ratzlaff Designs

Hello, thank you for stopping by.  Today's Sunday Silhouette share is part of a gift I created for my sister's birthday.  I used an adorable Cupcake Shaped Box cut file by Kelleigh Ratzlaff Designs.  My sister was so excited about this cupcake she didn't even want to open it to get the goodies I put inside!

I love how this turned out.  It's so easy to put together, too.  I used a piece of white embossed card stock for the cake part.  And a piece of Tempting Turquoise designer series paper for the cup.  Then added some sequin sprinkles  and a bow.  The ribbon does not tie it closed, it has tabs for that.  Genius!

Here it is opened and you can see the treats I added inside.  Pretzels M&Ms are her favorite.

The card I found in the Silhouette Online Store.  My first attempt at the card was a failure.  I tried to cut it out of the paper but I didn't set my blade correctly so it tore everywhere.  I then cut it from white card stock and did a little bit of card surgery.  I cut away of few of the pieces from the paper and transplanted them to the white card.  Added a few sequins to bring it all together.

I hope you enjoyed my project share.  Please leave me a comment, let me know you visited.  Thank you.  Happy Sunday!
