Tuesday Morning Sketches #689

Hello!  Thank you for stopping by.  It's that time of year again!  It's our Annual Anything Goes challenge at Tuesday Morning Sketches.   We only do this challenge once a year and it's comes with a prize.  Head on over the blog for details.  But before you go, I'd like to share a couple of projects that I've made.

First up are my Christmas Trees.  I found this video on YouTube of these dupes of department store decorations.  The video is by Made on Maple Street. I saw these and called my friend Kenny to see if he could cut me some wood.  He cut 2 sets because he wanted them, too!

I painted them with cream and green trees with chalk paint and the smallest tree with acrylic paint that I painted on and then wiped off with a baby wipe to give it a stained look.  The large and medium trees I used Embellishment Mousse by Tonic Studios.  The color is called Snowdrift.  Pretty appropriate!  The small tree is Glacier Paste by Tonic Studios in white.  I bought jumbo popsicle sticks and painted them with black chalk paint and then using my Silhouette Cameo I cut out Merry and Bright from white vinyl.  After applying the words to the sticks I covered them with Mod Podge.  I added some stars that I got from Dollar Tree.  I think they turned out really cool!

I also, finally, made the pick up truck from SVG Cuts.  My grandpa had a truck like this.  I hardly remember it but my sisters do!  It's just such a classic and very cool design.  Then I die cut the garland and glued on the boughs.  Made tiny gold glittery bows (die from Mama Elephant) and added ornaments using Nuvo Drops.

My daughter helped me hot glue the lights on the truck.  It didn't come out as great as I envisioned because there was too much wire between the lights, but you should see this lit up.

Oh wait, you can see it lit up!

It looks so pretty at night!

I hope to see you over at the TMS blog to join in the fun! Thank  you for stopping by and please leave me a comment for an extra chance to win a little prize.  I will randomly draw a person for a die set from Spellbinders - even my team is eligible to win.

OMG, that truck is fantastic. I do not have the patience to do 3-D paper art (actually, since my eye operations, I haven't even done any crafting or art), but I certainly appreciate the work others do. You are so good at what you do. I always enjoy seeing your creations.
