Hello! Thank you for stopping by. The latest sketch is up at Tuesday Morning Sketches and I admit, it is a little similar to last week's sketch but different. I also admit I had an easier time of this card than last week's.
My card features the Poppies Simon Says Stamp kit I got a few months ago. I got this idea in my head and although not executed flawlessly (I had a little run in with super sticky tape) it didn't turn out too bad. Pretty much what I had in mind.
I definitely wanted a window card and that part worked out well. Maybe 5x7 card would have been a bit better, but I like this. I took a card base and using my Spellbinders rectangle dies I cut out 2 windows and framed with using the same size rectangle die and a size up in a scalloped rectangle. I knew I wanted to use some window sheets and emboss those. So I cut a couple of window sheets and embossed using a 3D embossing folder also from Spellbinders. The first window I had some trouble with and because I used Scor-Tape, I was committed - messed up - tried to correct - now it doesn't lay quite flat. But the 2nd window worked out great. So I'm going with it.
This is the card lying flat so you can see the front of the card better with it's windows. And when you open the card you have this....
Here's a close up of the embossed window sheet. It turned out so cool so that I'm going to try it on a bigger scale.
I was really please that this embossing folder kind of matched the poppies.
I hope you're inspired to do something fun with window sheets and this card sketch. We'll see you over at the blog!
