Tuesday Morning Sketches #758

Hello!  I hope everyone enjoyed a nice extended weekend.  The latest sketch is up at Tuesday Morning Sketches and it's an easy one.  But feel free to make it a fun fold like I did.

My card features BRIGHTS - yes, I played with brights.  Not generally my go-to color palette.  I actually started out my idea for a special little boy in my life who is turning 6 (gasp!) but the printed paper doesn't work - but I went with what I had and now it's just a bright greeting card.

This card features red card stock from Lawn Fawn, Colorful Spring paper from Brutus Monroe, die cut words from Tonic Studios, glitter and mirror card also from Tonic Studios and star die cuts from Pink & Main.  All my favorites!

This is a gatefold card but not in the traditional way.  And the blue star tucks into the yellow star to keep the card closed.  This was a really fun card to make and was really super simple.

I do hope you'll join us at the TMS blog and be sure to visit the design team and leave them some love.  See you there!

Color My Heart Color Dare #602

Hello!  Thank you for stopping by.  Color My Heart Color Dare #602 is up and ready for your fun and creativity!

This challenge is....

What a great color combo! It's very hard to photograph purple. Royal (eggplant) looks black but hopefully you can see the difference of the frame which is eggplant and the sentiment that is truly black.  My card features dies from Spellbinders, an embossing folder from Tonic Studios and a sentiment die set from Scrapbook.Com.

Here's a close up of the focal point.  I did add some glitter gloss from Tonic Studios on the sentiment to add just a little bit of shine.

I also used some pretty gems from Brutus Monroe.

I hope you join us for the challenge!

Tuesday Morning Sketches #757

Hello friends!  Thank you for stopping by.  The latest sketch is up at Tuesday Morning Sketches and it's a fabulous sketch by Debbie.

My card features products from Brutus Monroe and I am so pleased with how this turned out.

The card base is Glacier card stock from Spellbinders.  The card panel I used the circles stencil from Brutus Monroe masking off the section for my focal point.  I used blue, purple and pink inks.  Then I used the Fabulous Florals die set cutting them from white card stock.  I colored the flowers using the same blue, purple and pink inks.  The center piece and the leaves I colored with green inks.  The flower pieces I then covered with embossing ink and used Pearl embossing powder.  The sentiment is from a Tonic Studios craft kit.  It's a die that I cut using lavender mirror card stock also from Tonic Studios.

Isn't that pearl shine gorgeous!  I just love it.

I do hope you'll join us at TMS.  Leave some love for the team!

Birthstone Challenge May-June

Hello!  It's time for another challenge at Birthstone Challenge.  This challenge will run until June 15th.  The birthstones are Pearl and Emerald and the twist is Engagement/Wedding/Anniversary.

My card for this challenge is made from a paper pad I have had forever!  I don't know how long this has been in stash but it's perfect for this challenge.  If you can't tell, I am showcasing pearl.  I did pair it with with a neutral Kraft and it's absolutely beautiful!

All the dies are from Tonic Studios - some from different memory books sets and the big daisy is from the Blooming Bouquet set.  This turned out so pretty... took most of the day to put it together, but the outcome was worth the time.

I hope to see you over at Birthstone Challenge.

Brutus Monroe - Snowglobe Keepsake

Hello.  Thanks for stopping by.  I have a card I am so proud of for my Brutus Monroe card share.

Have you ever received a trinket or box or something that you absolutely cherished and it was displayed on a bookshelf?  That's what my card is all about....

I used the Brutus Monroe Die of the Month (April) Snowglobe.  First off, I washed some Pearl Aqua Pigment over some watercolor paper.  Once it was dry I die cut all the pieces from the die set.  The base of the snowglobe was die cut from a piece of cardstock that I covered in embossing ink and then embossed with Bubbly embossing powder.  This, if you can't tell by the name, is a champagne gold embossing powder that is absolutely beautiful!

Putting the snowglobe together to create this beautiful winter scene was accomplished with lots of dimensional foam tape.

I created the base using woodgrain card stock from Lawn Fawn.  It was white until I recolored it with Walnut Stain Distress Ink.  I cut some strips and adhered with dimensional foam tape to create the shelves and then added some books onto those shelves using the Spectacular Spines washi tape.  Before adding the snowglobe to the shelf, I had to make it extra special....

I ADDED LIGHTS!  I have always wanted to put lights in a card.  I was on a design a couple of years ago for iCrafter.  On this team was a super talented lady, Amanda Stevens, who also owns Pear Blossom Press which offers EZ-Light.  These really are easy, you don't have to figure out anything except placement!

I hope you like my card and find inspiration from it.

Thank you for visiting.
