Great Sketch and a Great New Digi Company!

Hi! Hope you're well today!

Even though I am no longer on the Design Team for Corrosive Challenge, I am still going to try to play along every week. Janet posted a fabulous sketch for this weeks challenge. I paired it with a new digi company Tim n Shells Digi Downloads. This little guy is sooo cute!

You'll see that I am totally lovin' the free digi-paper that GinaK is offering for free on stampTV. This has made it's appearance on my of my projects lately. I colored the bear with Prismacolor Markers and highlighted a bit in each eye with white gel pen.

I hope you try Janet's sketch and check out Tim and Shell's adorable images!

Have a super day!

My time is up...

Hi Everyone! Happy Sunday!

Today is my very last posting as a DT Member for the Corrosive Challenge blog. I can't believe how time has just flown by! I want to take this time to thank Janet for inviting me to be one of the members of her first design team. It has been such an honor and so much fun!

So today's challenge is a card I wish I hadn't had to put into use. Today's challenge is to create a Sympathy card. I used a digi-image from The Digi Shack and since I live so near DC, the sweet Cherry Blossoms are familiar.

This was a really easy card to make. I printed the digi out on white card stock and colored using inks and blender pens and adhered to the inside of the card stock. Then I cut the window with a Nestabilities die, added primas and ribbon. I stamped the sentiment in Almost Amethyst and it didn't photograph well.

Thanks for the fun ride, Janet!

Corrosive Challenge Sunday

Good Morning and thanks for coming back to for my 2nd post of the day!

This one will be short and sweet because you need to go visit The Corrosive Challenge Blog and the rest of the Design Team members to see what great things they made with this week's challenge. This week's challenge is a color combo challenge using Kraft, Black and Red. That was an interesting challenge for me! But with the help of a card sketch from Tami Mayberry, I made this...

I love this ribbon that I picked up out of the dollar bin at Michael's. I used it just yesterday on another card. The flower stamps are from Scrappy Cat and sentiment is from Inkadinkadoo. I can't wait to see what you come up with!!

Well I'm off to make a salad and a peach cheesecake for tomorrow's cook-out! Have a safe rest of your weekend.

I love ROCK & ROLL!!

It's Sunday and another great challenge from The Corrosive Challenge blog. This one is music to my ears! And here's my take on the challenge.

Since my house's general noise most weekends consists of Guitar Hero, Wii Music or Rock Band this was a fun challenge for me! Janet said to make something musical and I had a lot of fun. First of all, I do not own a single musical image, embossing folder, or any extra images from swaps, so I set on a surfing journey to see what I could come up with. I found TONS of music related coloring pages and this guy looked like a great image for someone like my 14 year old son and Janet. So I asked Brendan for his help. He helped me pick just the right font, this is Pamela from Dafont.com and I found a layout that I liked from Tami Mayberry - I don't think I hit the mark on the layout, but I like it just the same. The dp is digi paper that I found on a blog that is no longer updated. So this card is for your own personal Guitar Hero.

Happy Sunday! Thanks for visiting me.

Happy Mother's Day & It's Corrosive Challenge Sunday

Good Morning All--

Happy Mother's Day to everyone! I'm not quite sure what my day will have in store for me, but I am quite content with the camera that I bought myself for this occasion.

Today is another edition of The Corrosive Challenge and it's another awesome sketch by Janet! Be sure to stop over there to get the sketch and details. I had so much fun with this. Here's my card:

Great sketch, eh? Recognize the paper? Yep, I used it yesterday for The Digi Shack challenge card I made. I love love love this digi paper that I got for free at A Cherry On Top. I actually printed some of the paper on the card stock and used it as is. Guess what? The flowers were part of that same digi-pack. The focal image is one of my favorites from Paper Makeup Stamps, stamped on white cardstock with Chocolate Chip ink. Super easy card! And it'll actually mail for 1 first class postage stamp.

Thanks for visiting me today!

Mother's Day Card Challenge

Hi everyone,

I haven't posted in a while because I really wanted the picture of Marie, my cleaning kit I made for MSB and the interview of Candie to stay on top for just a bit longer. But, Joni scolds me when I don't update more often. heehee

This card is for the latest challenge on The Corrosive Challenge blog. I made a very simple Mother's Day card - and it doesn't even have to be for Mother's Day, but a note to your Mom. I love the softness of this card. The focal image is out of the set Cup of Stuff from The Greeting Farm that at the last Farmer's Market Marie had on sale. I'd been waiting and waiting! I fell in love with this set because I have a love for tea sets - so this fit right in. Now the cool part of this card (I think so anyway) was playing with a digi stamp that I got from Lindsay's Stamp Stuff. That's the name of her store, her blog is The Frugal Crafter's Weblog - and she has awesome images!! OK, so what I did, I played around with printing it. I printed it directly onto my card base and then colored with Prismacolor Markers. Lightly! Go lightly with the color or use a different color medium so that the color doesn't bleed to the inside of the card. Then I stamped the tea cup arrangement image with Memento Tuxedo Black and colored with Prismacolor markers. Mounted to a scallop circle cut out of Almost Amethyst and assembled. Easy!

I hope that you visit the Corrosive Challenge blog, don't forget my challenge using Shop Gal from Modern Sugar Blvd., and visit Lindsay, too.

Thanks for visiting me.

Corrosive Challenge Sunday

Janet posted the new challenge for the week yesterday and she's got some great one's coming up, too! You won't want to miss out on any of them!! This week's challenge is a super fantastic sketch. Go visit the Corrosive Challenge blog for the sketch and to post your creation.

This is my version of the sketch. It's a bit different but I am pleased with the results. It's another card that is all digi! The base is Basic Black, the dp you've seen me use before - it's free from The Angel Company. The focal image is a free digi from Tami Mayberry. Have you seen this gal's work? I know you have! She draws for Sweet~n~Sassy rubber stamps. They also offer digi-stamps. I added black twill ribbon and blue baubles to coordinate with the Bashful Blue mat.

I hope you like it! Now it's your turn! Join us in the challenge. And don't forget Joni's sketch challenge, too!

Corrosive Challenge Blog

Did I go into her spam box?? Janet didn't post my card for this weeks challenge. I think I was late. I am terribly sorry!! But she seriously didn't want me to scan the card! Ugh.

Anyway, here's the card that I made. It's all digital!! The image is from Two Scoops Rice Designs - Renae has some really wonderful images. The decorative paper is also a digital design. I picked this up from My Grafico in their freebie section. You get two hues in the download. This was the stand out color and the other is more muted. Then I used Pink Pirouette for the side piece and the mat for the sentiment. The sentiment was done on the computer. I colored the image with Prismacolor markers (Buff, Deco Pink, Limepeel and light Cerulean Blue).

I have decided that every card I make now, whether it be for challenges, DT applications, or blog entries, will have a purpose. They are being sent to someone. I hoard way too many cards!! This one will go to my neighbor. She doesn't read my blog, so it'll be a surprise.

Have a wonderful Sunday. The wind is gone and it looks like it'll be a lovely day.

Uh - It's still March Melissa!

We wish you a Merry Christmas, we wish you a Merry Christmas and a Happy Moo Year!! No, I am not looking at a funky calendar. The last March challenge for the Corrosive Challenge was a Christmas card with animals. Talk about a challenge for me!

I knew, when Janet told us the challenge, that I'd be using TGF's McSplendid farm set because it was the only set that had animals that was in my collection. But what was going to go with it?? Well, with the craze of the digi-stamps going on, I decided I could do basic shapes. So I opened up a program on my computer and I drew the Christmas tree. Viola! My first digi-image. Primitive as it is. Then I needed to make my sweet little cow festive. I hadn't a clue how to draw her hat on the computer so I free-handed the hat. Boy am I glad it fit her head! So when I say this is MY card, it truly is MY card with the exception of the cow and the paper.

I hope you join us in the Corrosive challenge. And don't forget to play along with Gabby's sketch. Combine the two! It'll be lots of fun!!!

Challenge #2 on The Corrosive Challenge Blog

Good Morning! Happy Sunday to you! It's a busy day today, so I have to post this quickly. Today is my oldest son's 14th birthday. Ack!! So tonight we're going out for our birthday date, just he and I and I have lots to accomplish before I can go.

OK onto the challenge. I loved this challenge even though I had difficulty with one of the colors. Here's my contribution to the challenge:

I used a white base that I embossed with a Cuttlebug border folder. Then a Certainly Celery mat. The image is Rachelle Ann Miller (Lily & Milo Collection) called Enjoy the Moment. This is such a sweet image all about friendship and to me friendship is one of those big gifts from God. I colored the image with my Stampin' Write markers. I'm still trying to get as good as others I've seen. I matted it to Pretty in Pink and then punched out flowers with the Spring Bouquet punch from Pixie Pink and white. Pixie Pink has to be one of my lowest colors on the favorite scale.

This picture to the right is Janet's inspiration. It's her PJ's!! I love this idea of using a favorite thing to inspire creativity. This is just like Joni's challenge we had a couple of weeks ago to use a purse for inspiration. And what other fabulous thing can you come up with than a comfy pair of pajamas!!

I hope you decide to take the challenge. Visit the challenge blog and follow Janet's directions. Also, don't forget to visit the design team's blogs and leave them a little love. They work hard for you. And I think I am the only American! This is so fun - so much perspective.

Have a super day!!
