Paper Pretties Monday

Good Morning!  I hope you had a great weekend.  I sure did!  We didn't do anything special, just sort stayed closed to home.  The kids' Dad bought us a gift.... he got us a wallmount for our TV so now we've got some space in the livingroom again.  We watched a really good movie, too.  I highly recommend Joyous Noise with Keke Palmer, Dolly Parton and Queen Latifah.  What a great feel good movie.

So, here in the US we're gearing up for the 4th of July.  So with that, the Paper Pretties Monday challenge is a color combo:

RED, WHITE & BLUE

Here's my card featuring another new image by ARTish.  This is Redmond.

I really needed to stamp the sentiment with Staz On.  Note to self - Tuxedo Black is great on paper, not on ribbon.  But other than the blurry words, my card turned out pretty cute.  Redmond is adorable with the fireworks exploding in the sky above him and the sparklers in his hands.

I am also joining Just Us Girls because they have the same color challenge and I haven't played with them in several weeks.  I miss them.  * big smile *  I also drew inspiration from Ribbon Carousel's sketch challenge.

Supplies:
Image: Redmond
Card stock: Neenah Classic Crest, Real Red, Brilliant Blue
Paper: Red, White & Used digi paper
Copics: B000, B95, B97, R27, W0, W2, W3, Y15
Embellishments: Waterfall, Candy Cane, Diamond Stickles, Diamone Glaze (Judikins), white satin ribbon
Stamps/Ink: Everyday Sentiments (Paper Pretties), Tuxedo Black (Memento)

Paper Pretties Monday

Hi there!  Thanks for coming back.  This week at Paper Pretties Monday we've got a color challenge.  We're playing with Pink & Green.

I also combined this with Sunday Sketch & Stamp who is celebrating their birthday, so you get to pick a sketch to play with.  I also added my monthly card traders group challenge, too.  This is a crayon technique that I probably will never do again.  Do you see the flower?  Well, that's shavings from 3 different crayons in between two sheets of wax paper and then ironed.  My opinion... what a mess!  Anyway, then I used some dies to create the flower.

Supplies:
Image: Parched Piggie
Card stock: Neenah Classic Crest, Pink Pirouette, Certainly Celery
Copics: BG15, C5, C7, E33, RV000, RV02, RV10, RV29, W-0, W-2, Y06, Y11, YG00, YG03, YG06, YG09
Tools: Cuttlebug, flowers die, Swiss Dots embossing folder
Embellishments: brads, pink grosgrain ribbon

Paper Pretties Monday

Hi!  Thanks for coming back.  Be sure to scroll down to see my card for my Love to Create post.

Here's the 2nd card I got done on Friday night.  I really did have a lot of fun - I wasn't tired and I really energized to work on cards.  This week at Paper Pretties we're creating with Lots of Layers.  This is an easy challenge since most of use lots of layers in our cards anyway.

From the base I have about 8 layers to this little card.  I am featuring the super sweet image from ARTish called Along for the Ride.

I created this card using a fun sketch from Guylou's Imitability.  Loved this sketch!  It was the perfect inspiration for this card.

I do hope my card is an inspiration to you!  Enjoy your Monday.

Unfortunately I deleted my sticky note from my computer where I store my supplies list.  Sorry, I don't remember the colors that I used in Copics, the dp is Echo Park, the sun is from a QuicKutz die and I also used my Cuttlebug and Blooms & Dots embossing folder.

Hi there! Thanks for coming back.  This week's Paper Pretties challenge is...

Paper Piecing or Piercing

I love paper piecing, it makes it so easy to get your card done quickly.  I have two cards to share with you, too.  The first features a new set by ARTish.  This is Blossom and he is the sweetest little bunny.

Don't you just wanna squeeze him?  I also used an adorable sketch from Taylored Expressions - she was right when she said you have to do this one.  It's awesome!  I love the results with my card.

Paper Pretties Monday

Hi!  Thanks for coming back for the Paper Pretties post.  This week's challenge is called....

Easter Blessings

I love Easter.  I have fond memories of a lovely woman named Miss Virginia being our Easter Bunny.  She would leave us treats at our door on Easter morning and that was so special.  It's also means the beginning of Spring.  Even though it's been in the 80s here in Florida which is summer weather to me, trees are blooming.

I love Spring colors, too.  Pastels are one of my favorite palettes.  And this cute new little sheep is adorable.  I just love ARTish's images.  I did use the sketch from My Favorite Things.  I don't think I can play along with their challenge, but I loved their sketch.

Supplies:
Image: Easter Eve
Card stock: Neenah Classic Crest, Barely Banana, Lavender Lace, Tempting Turquoise
Paper: Spring has Sprung digi paper (Digital Delights by Looby Lou)

I found another great challenge to play along with.  It's called Sweet Stampin Challenge.  The challenge is lots of layers but they also had a sketch.  I didn't do quite as many layers as was on the sketch, but I love how this card turned out.

Be sure to head on over to Paper Pretties - we're also debuting a new artist and there's a freebie in it for you!

Hi!  Thanks for coming back.  I really missed doing my post last week for Paper Pretties, but did you happen to catch the line up from the DT?  Wow!!  So I'm feeling better and I've done a lot of creating in the past couple of days so I have some fun stuff coming up to share with you.  This week's challenge at Paper Pretties is....

Going Green

My card features a super cute this puppy.  Meet Clover...

I really wish, after I got my card together and stepped back to look at it, that I would've colored him a bit lighter.  Maybe it's just that he didn't photograph well this way, in person he's pretty cute.

I found this really great St. Patrick's Day digi scrapbooking kit for free by S. Braxton.  I wish I could say how I stumbled onto it because its really cute.  But what I can tell you is where I got the inspiration from.... the layout is from the great sketch at The Sweet Stop and I also added a bit of twine just so I can squeak in with the Joni and Team at Raise The Bar.

]Alrighty, enjoy the rest of your day and join us in the fun.

Paper Pretties Monday

** Please scroll down for the Love to Create Challenge post **

Hi again!  Thanks for coming back for the Paper Pretties Monday post.  This week's challenge is called...

Spring

I think the word itself is open for interpretation.  It may lead you to play with flowers or plants images.  It may lead you play with pastel colors.  So with these thoughts in mind, you may be confused with my card.  I am playing along with challenge that said to do black and white with a splash of color.  Well, I wanted my splash of color to be yellow.  Yellow screams Spring to me, so I wanted everything else to only enhance and make that color pop!

This adorable image and sentiment is part of a new set called Rosebud.  He is sooo cute peeking out of the center of that rose.

I did use a sketch from The Sweet Stop to help me put the card together.  Their spin this week is to use punches or dies.  And as I mentioned earlier, the black and white with a splash of color came from Our Creative Corner.

Supplies:
Image: Rosebud
Card stock: Neenah Classic Crest, Black, Sahara Sand
Paper: Black & White digi paper by JPDesigns (ACOT)
Copics: R02, R11, W-0, W-2, W-3, Y06, Y11, YG63, YG67
Tools: Circle cutters (CM), small and large oval punches

Is he not the cutest cat?  I showed my card to my son and he says "is that a cat?  The just get into everything."  LOL  It was funny.

I did use a couple of challenges to help me put this card together.  I used the sketch from Card Patterns and the color challenge (summer sun, early espresso, cajun craze, very vanilla) from Color Throwdown.  I didn't have exactly those colors but I think I came close.

Paper Pretties Monday

Good Morning!  I hope you all had a great weekend.  It was good here, pretty much laid back.  Yesterday evening was filled with football.  My son is soooo excited that the Patriots won.  I am, too, he was getting pretty grumpy there for a bit.

So let's talk about this week's challenge at Paper Pretties.  We've got a color combo for you....

And we have two new adorable sets releasing.  I am featuring Lancelot.

I love how my card turned out.  Lancelot is such a super sweet bear and the papers I chose.  Ack!  I am sooo happy with my card even though I am not a fan of Valentine's Day.  It used to be fun when my kids were little but not so much anymore.

I did pull some inspiration from some other challenges, too.

Just Us Girls - also Pink, Red & White combo
Unscripted Sketches - Sketch
Crafts 4 Eternity - use office supplies for embellishments

Paper Pretties Monday

Good Morning!  Quick post today - as most people we set these posts to auto-post as needed so I'm actually writing this late Sunday night.  I had a super short weekend with working part of the day Sunday morning.  So that severly cut into my normal Sunday schedule.

This week's challenge at Paper Pretties is a color combination....

Blue, Silver & White

I'm using an adorable new image called Slip n Slide.  I love this image and it's sentiments!

Paper Pretties Monday

Good Morning!  It's Monday and time for new digi images at Paper Pretties and a new challenge.  This week's challenge is probably something we don't think of too often, I know I don't.  This week we're making....

Get Well Cards

My card is featuring Sick Puppy.  Don't you just wanna pick up this little guy and cuddle him til he feels better?

I did use a great sketch from The Sweet Stop to create my card.  I kept it pretty simple, as you all know, I feature cards every now and then that are single postage stamp cards.  This is one of them.  My colors mainly neutrals with black and kraft being the base.  I also sponged the "floor" and then drew in the planks for a wood floor.

Supplies:
Image: Sick Puppy
Card stock: Neenah Classic Crest, Kraft, Black
Paper: Michaels open stock
Copics: 100, B97, B99, C5, C7, E30, E34, E53, G99, R02, R27, R29, YG06, YG09, W-2, Copic liner 0.05
Tools: Silver gel pen, scallop border (Fiskars), word window punch (SU!)

Paper Pretties Monday

Good Morning!  Happy Monday to you.  It's time for another fun challenge at Paper Pretties - this time we're keeping it...

Clean and Simple

And since it a New Year, it's time for those resolutions.  What is the #1 resolution?  Yep, to lose weight.  So ARTish created a couple of new digi sets to encourage just that.  My card features ZaZa Zumba Hippo... she's so darn cute!!!

I sometime have a hard time with clean and simple cards but I read a definition that CAS means little or no embellishments, straight clean lines.  I think I fit that.  But I did have to add a simple embellishment, a sweet little felt flower with button center and twine touch was just right.  The challenge at JUGs this week is to put felt on your card.  Now this is really simplifying their challenge so I might have to play again this week, but for this will do.

Supplies:
Image: ZaZa Zumba Hippo
Card stock: Neenah Classic Crest
Paper:  Glitter matstack (DCWV)
Copics: BG10, BFG15, BV00, BV02, BV04, C5, C7, C8, RV00, RV02, RV02, RV10, W-0, W-2, W-3
Tools:  Cuttlebug, Flowers die (Cuttlebug)
Embellishments:  Felt, button, Buttercup Twine

Paper Pretties Monday

Good Morning!  Happy Monday to you.  I do hope you enjoyed your Christmas holiday.  We certainly did in my house.  The kids' dad got them them an Xbox 360 Kinect for Christmas, so we played that pretty much the entire day yesterday and I have a feeling our day today will be pretty much the same thing.  This is fun!

We have a fun challenge at Paper Pretties this week.  This week we have...

Winter Wonderland

Personally, I wish I were feeling a bit of what my sister in the west is feeling, or my cousin in the north.  I'd like a bit of winter chill.  It was 81 degrees today here in sunny Florida.  So I will just look at this sweet little snowman and mentally project myself where he is playing.

Isn't he cute?  He could be ice skating, but in my scene he's pirouetting in a snowy forest.

Supplies:
Card stock:  Neenah Classic Crest, Kraft, Black
Paper:  Jessica Sprague Winter digi paper (Echo Park)
Copics:  B02, BV00, BV02, BV04, C8, W-0, W-2, YR16
Stamps/Ink:  Sentiment (CC Densigns), Snowflake (The Greeting Farm), Tuxedo Black (Memento), Soft Sky (SU!)
Tools:  1 1/4" & 1 3/8" circle punches

The layout of this card is loosely based on a sketch by Our Craft Lounge.  I did remove an element or two, but want to give credit of what inspired me.

Paper Pretties Monday

Good Morning!  Here we are, another week to begin and only 6 shopping days left to Christmas.  Are you last minute, like I am?  This year Christmas is rather slim, so there's not a lot of shopping to get done.  I am making something for my oldest son, which has been interesting to keep it hidden.

Well, anyway, let's talk about this week's challenge at Paper Pretties.  This week, we've got a color combo:

Red, White & Choice

My choice was just a splash of green.  I used one of Penny Duncan's Shaplies and then pierced holes around the frame and stitched with Baker's Twine.  I love this new image by ARTish.  Her name is Emalina, so darn cute!!

Supplies:
Image:  Emalina Elf
Card stock:  Neenah Classic Crest, Real Red
Copics:  E00, E02, E33, E34, R11, R27, R29, YG03, YG06, YG09

Paper Pretties Monday

Good Morning!  I do hope your weekend was good to you.  I had a great weekend, the sales didn't go so great, but hey - life goes on.  The Sanford Christmas parade was fun - Hollyanne and her dance class did really well.

So let's kick the week off  with a fun challenge at Paper Pretties.  This week's challenge is an easy one....

Ribbon

I drew some inspiration from a couple of other challenges, too.  Designed2Delight is creating tags and I used the sketch from The Sweet Stop.
