Tuesday Morning Sketches #656

Hello! Thank you for stopping by.  The latest sketch is up at Tuesday Morning Sketches and I think this will be a lot of fun.

My card features a very old technique posted on Splitcoast Stampers (by Beate Johns) called Emboss Kiss or something like that.  It's where you ink up a solid stamp with one color and ink up an embossing folder with a contrast color.  Stamp the stamp onto the embossing folder and then stamp on your card stock.  This is a challenge with my challenge group I belong to.  Now I really struggled with this technique because one; I don't own very many solid stamps and two; because no matter what I did, which embossing folder I chose, it wasn't even detail to get the texture into the bloom.  Worked great on the leaves.  But here's what I made...

It is a pocket card.  You would write a personal message on the white panel or put in a gift card.  The stamp set I used is Flowering Cistus from Altenew.  The texture is really great and visible on the leaves but not so much on the flower.  The card stock I used is from Paper Trey Ink.

Here's a close up of the pocket.  And of the embossing folder that I used on the flower.  The scallop border was die cut from a border die from Pink and Main.

I do hope you'll join us this week.  Please head on over to the TMS blog, leave some love for the team and then make your own interpretation of the sketch.

I'm loving the textured design of that embossing folder. It really gives a great elegance to an otherwise simple card. Cute sentiment, too. Hugs, Debi
