Thursdays with Lindsay

Good Morning!  I hope your week is going well.  My kids are home today so it's nice to be able to hang out with them.

The card I have to share with you today is really a stretch for me.  Unlike my fellow DT member, Tracy Vinson who does Vintage in an absolutely amazing way, I find it very difficult.  But with the help of The Sweet Stop sketch and a great image from Lindsay's Stamp Stuff, it went together pretty well.

I used the Carousel Horse set which is gorgeous!  I was a little intimidated by it, but I thought I would just grab the bull by the horns and give it a try.  I think it's pretty.  What do you think?

I printed the image 3 times.  The first one I used for the base and inked its edges to make it look old.  The second was to emboss the pole with gold embossing powder.  I cut them out then adhered to the base image.  Then the 3rd image I embossed gold on the blanket, colored it and the saddle and added a touch of color to the mane and tail.  Then again, cut it out and adhered it to the base.  This allowed me to keep the horse a brighter color against the background.

Supplies:
Card stock:  Cream (Recollections), Chocolate Chip, Blush Blossom, Creamy Caramel (SU)
Copics:  C8, E34, E37, E53, R00, R11
Tools:  Versamark embossing pen, Medium Gold embossing powder, heat gun, Cuttlebug, Script embossing folder
Stamps/Ink:  Poppies (SNSS), Rich Cocoa (Memento)
Embellishments:  gold organdy (Offray)

I hope that you enjoy my card and that perhaps I've encouraged you to try something that you've been a little apprehensive to do.  Happy Thursday to you... I'm off to hang out with my kiddos.
