Friday Feature

Good Morning! I am getting a bit nervous for my interview this afternoon. Guess I better craft all morning long to distract me. LOL

I have to tell you what I saw the other day. I found my daughter sitting at her dad's computer perusing You Tube videos. She also had her little sketch book out and a pencil. She would watch for a bit, pause, draw and then watch a bit more. This cycle continued for about 30 minutes. After dinner she went down to our craft room and was busy working away. So you know what this means? I have a Hollyanne Friday Feature for you!

I am thinking that she got this sketch from one of Dawn Griffith's videos, but I am not certain. She used a stamp set that, frankly, I had forgotten I owned. It's Shapes & Stitches by Lizzie Ann. The sentiment is from Papertrey Ink. She made a very nice CAS card.

I have a Thanksgiving themed card to share, too. I made this using one of the accesories in the new set just released called Little Helper. You can find it and all of the other wonderful images Inktegrity has to offer here. I did use the sketch from Twisted Thursdays - the month of November they will be featuring challenges for Holiday stamps so this week they are focusing on scarecrows, pilgrims and turkeys. The twist is to either use Kraft card stock or a brown paper sack. Here is my take on the challenge....

I created the sentiment on the computer.

Friday Feature

Happy Friday!

I have three great cards to share with you today. Last night was so much fun, hubby was feeling a bit weather worn so he went to bed very early. That means me and the kids have to be super quiet for him, well we don't have to, but we do to respect him. So Hollyanne, Levi and I came downstairs and instead of popping in a movie we decided to work on cards. I needed to make one for my challenge group, Hollyanne needed her Friday Feature and Levi decided he wanted in on the action.

My good friend Joni recently started her own digi-stamp company called Inktegrity. Yesterday she had a grand re-opening introducing 5 new stamps in a collection called Dream Big that can be purchased here. You can purchase them individually or get all 5 for $3.99. Can't beat that!! Out on Limb is the image that Hollyanne and I played with.

This is Hollyanne's card. It's all her own design, right down to the sentiment. She wrote it, she decided on the font - I typed it. She used the Prismacolor Markers to color, she made her brother use the Stampin' Up! ones. LOL

Here is my card with the same adorable image. The challenge for the challenge group was to highlight the embossing using a Cuttlebug folder. I am not a huge fan of this technique, although I have seen some amazing work done with it. Mine is mediocre at best. I love the ladybug though. I punched out a heart and pop-dotted it, I cut a black scallop circle and added stitching with a white gel pen and then added some fun ribbon!

Now Levi had to do a guy card! We printed him the freebie pirate background that was offered by Dustin Pike and found a free pirate coloring page. Levi, with his demented sense of humor, decided the sentiment should say "welcome aboard, now walk the plank!" He giggled about this for a long time. Hollyanne bumped him and the mistake he'd made pleased him greatly. There is a splotch over to the right of the card beyond the ropes, near the cloud. It's not a splotch - it's a cannonball!!

I hope you enjoyed our cards and a brief moment into our family time last night. We had a great time and we hope we've inspired you or at the very least, put a smile on your face.

Have a wonderful weekend!!

Hollyanne & Levi, too!

Friday Feature

It love Friday! Now that I am a SAHM, weekends don't seem to have the same meaning. However, I love Friday because its my chance to show off my daughter's talent a little bit and I get to play along with some challenges for the heck of it.

Today Hollyanne and I decided it was a pink and brown day. What a fabulous color combo!!

This card is so grown up for her! Remember last week I featured a top swivel card with a MyGrafico image? She had to try it for herself. She used one of the new Unity stamps and my Prismacolor markers.

My card will be a separate post below this one.

Friday Feature

Hi Everyone,

Let's just jump right into Hollyanne's feature for today. I have a lot of stamping to do, I have a challenge card that I'm working on and I have a card I need to make for an announcement that I have.

I love this card she made! Hollyanne has a pen-pal that she's been writing to (not as often as I'd like) for about a year now. This card was made just for her. Hollyanne did such a fabulous job with coloring and the overall design - it had to be her Friday Feature. She used one of Dustin Pike's adorable images that is an Easter image, but she decided little flowers in the basket was just the right thing, flowers for a friend. She used my Prismacolor Markers to color him. She matted the image to Elegant Eggplant and for the base, a scrap of some of my favorite dp and embossed the other side with a Cuttlebug Border Folder.

Thanks for stopping by today to visit us! We wish you a Happy Friday!!

Friday Feature

Happy Friday! I shared with you an ATC that I made for Hollyanne's swap - the first she's hosted, but I hadn't shared her ATC. So here's my daughter's Friday Feature.

I know Miss Joni will love this because Hollyanne used her very favorite color. You know, if Roses On Paper sold these cute little Imaginesce stamps, she'd also have an entry for their current challenge - summer colors: orange, yellow and something else. Anyway, I think Hollyanne did a fabulous job on her ATCs.

I have a little something to share, too. Not to steal my daughter's moment on my blog, but I am so excited about this card that I just have to share.

I created this card for the July 15th challenge from the bi-monthly challenge group that I belong to. It was to create a hidden panel card that the tutorial was found on Dawn's Stamping Thoughts blog. I had actually seen this video tutorial many times on her blog and You Tube, but I just never tried it.

I love this image from CC Designs, Sweet Pixies Gretel. She is just so adorable. I stamped her on Whisper White cardstock because when you color with Prismacolor markers on WW, the colors will come out much softer which is exactly the look I wanted. I did add a bit of highlight with a white gel pen. I'd really love to get my hands on a Sharpie white poster marker. Can't find them anywhere unless I want to buy 18 at a time. That's a bit much! LOL

I used Pink Pirouette and Certainly Celery card stocks. I am really going to miss Pink Pirouette. I could just slap myself silly for not buying at least a couple more packages before it was gone. I think SU! was crazy to discontinue it!

These are the views of the inside (l) and the back (r). I used Unity's Bevy of Butterflies and it worked so well with Gretel. This card is so pretty, I had a very hard time putting it in the mailbox. In fact Levi kept an eye on the mailbox to let me know when the mail-lady came and said "it's gone!" when she left with it. Funny! This was a fun card to make - a bit bulky in the middle, so it requires extra postage, but it'll be worth the smile you've put on someone's face.

Thanks for stopping by!

Friday Feature

Hi - and Happy Friday (for real this time).

I am so proud of Hollyanne! This card is for her first sketch challenge. She used Crafts 4 Eternity's sketch, she had to remove a few of the elements because that was a bit much for her, but she pulled this off so well. I did nothing except cut the scallop and the circle for her. She did the rest.

The image is from CC Designs (All That Scraps). She altered it a little by adding a tiny mouth. She colored it with my Prismacolor Markers and Copics for the hair. I think my daughter did such a great job!

Friday Feature & Mojo Monday

Happy Friday everyone! Actually it won't be a very happy Friday for me. Today is the day where we lose 94 hourly employees and 10 salary employees at work. The countdown also begins for me, I'll have 2 weeks remaining. So very sad.

But on a happier note, as promised Hollyanne is once again the Friday Feature. This is her in her Jazz costume.

I'm also featuring a sketch challenge from Mojo Monday that I'm using for my monthly card swap. This is the greatest blog to glean inspiration from! Well, there are lots out there and another one is coming very soon. *hint*

The image is a Changitos monkey - such a simple design with so much personality. I'm not sure where the paper is from, but it's way cute!! I ran Tempting Turquoise thru the Cuttlebug with the Spots & Dots folder. I modified the sketch a little, but it works for the card. Levi helped by cutting the prongs off of the swimming suits brads and then putting pop dots on them and placing them. He decided that was how he was going to contribute. I missed the mark on the challenge that was set by the hostess which was a creative fold - but I think she'll forgive me.

Thanks for stopping by today.

Friday Feature

Hi - Happy Friday! Whoo-hoo - I just love short weeks!

We'll start today's entry with Hollyanne's Friday Feature card... she has some really great ideas in the works but she didn't have enough time tonight to work on them. She only had 15 minutes to bedtime so she created a simple and very cute card in minutes that I know any one of her little friends would love to receive. I think it's going to her pen-pal.

She finished it and showed it me and my question was "what stamp is that?" LOL That girl knows more of what's in my collection than I do! This is Lizzie Ann stamp set. The sentiment is from a leftover package of rub-ons that she asked if she could have. And (Gabby are you listening?) I can't keep that girl out of my Prismacolor Markers! She said that she can't wait until I discover better markers 'cause then she'll get the prismas. Haha!

OK and for my Friday feature... Be on the look out for new releases over at Modern Sugar Blvd. We were told we didn't have to sneak peek, particularly if one didn't get their projects done until the day before they were due... ahem!

In a way this is a sneak peek 'cause this in only a portion of the project. Come back tomorrow for a better look.

Have a super day!

Friday Feature

Hi and thanks for stopping by.

I am starting a new thing on my blog today called Friday Feature. Who am I featuring? My daughter. Hollyanne is improving her stamping skills and I told her for every really good card that she takes her time to make really special, I would feature it on my blog. So here's Hollyanne's first feature.

Hollyanne is completely in love with The Greeting Farm's Miss Anyas collection. I haven't told her about the new one that is sooo awesome! She's also discovered my Prismacolor markers. After chats with Gabby about the markers and falling in love with them, I gave my entire collection of Stampin' Up! markers to Hollyanne. But she's wanted to try mine and is hooked!

She used some leftover digi-paper that you've seen me use, layered over chocolate chip cardstock. Of course, my girl can't make a single card that doesn't have glitter on it, so she created her own type of embellishment with rectangles of stickles in the corners.

I hope you enjoyed this feature! Thanks for visiting us today.

Oh, by the way, she's hosting her first swap via me - you can find it here. We'd love to have you join us.
