Sweet Sketch Wednesday #67

Good Morning!  I can't believe its Wednesday already!  Time for another sweet sketch and a favorite sponsor.  Digi Stamp Boutique is with this week.

So here's the sketch that Arlana has for us to work with....

This is a really fun sketch that is so versatile!  Be sure to visit the Sweet Sketch Wednesday to see the entire line up by the fabulous design team.  Here's my card using Coco Bear.

Edit:  I am getting several comments about the navy or purple.  Does this really look purple or blue?  The dark color used is Chocolate Chip and Brown polka dot paper.

I had fun with this sketch because I also incorporated some great SVG cuts by Penny Duncan and I am pretty sure I got the border from SVG Cuts.  I am really loving my Cricut and SCAL, now that I bought a cutting mat that would hold my card stock.

Supplies:
Card stock:  Neenah Classic Crest, Summer Sunrise and Lemon Tart (PTI), Chocolate Chip (SU)
Paper:  Polka dot brown (Making Memories), Daisy (Michaels)
Copics:  E34, E37, Y15, Y17, YG63, YG67, YR16, YR61
Tools:  Cricut/SCAL, Frame & Flower (SVGs by Penny Duncan), Border (SVG Cuts.com)
Embellishments:  brad (Basic Grey)

I hope you like the card and that you join us this week!  Be sure to head on over to Sweet Sketch Wednesday to find out how to play.  Have a great day.

Tuesday Morning Sketches #44

Good Morning!  Welcome to your Tuesday.  I am so glad that you're here.  I have a simply gorgeous card to share with.  Boy am I humble!  LOL  But I am really excited about this card.

This week is sponsored by Stef of Glitterbabe's Art Shop.  I am so proud of Stef - she was designing her own line of digi-stamps for The Stamping Boutique (love Tracy's images) but then she stepped out on her own.  She has a tremendous talent.  She was so very kind in sharing some images with me and my team.  I chose to use Little Ballerina.  With recital fast approaching and my daughter in her 5th year of ballet, this set was the obvious choice.

The theme of recital this is year is Las Vegas.  The ballet number that Hollyanne is in is called Waltz of the Flowers.  I colored this image to resemble her costume for that number.  It is this lovely burgundy and black with lots of toule.  I started this card with a mat from Penny Duncan.  This is a Fleur de Lis frame SVG file that is absolutely gorgeous!

Supplies:
Card Stock:  Neenah Classic Crest Solar White & Milled Ivory, Baroque Burgundy
Prismacolor Pencils:  Black, Blush Pink, Tucson Red - blended with OMS
Tools:  SVG File from Penny Duncan, SCAL/Cricut, circle punches
Embellishments:  Making Memories bling brads

I am so excited that I have the day off today because my Cricut Expression is supposed to arrive today!  I have sold enough (but still more to sell) of my stuff to purchase an Expression - my Mom can finally have her baby bug back.  Come on UPS Guy!

Thank you so much for stopping by.  Now head on over to Tuesday Morning Sketches, we'd love to have you join in the fun.

Fabulous Friday

Good Morning!  I hope your week has been a good one.  Yesterday was Sweet n Sassy Digi Day over at PCP/SNR and I am so glad that I got to play along.  I did treat myself to a couple of new digi-stamps from SNSS and the challenge was to create a Mother's Day Card.  Here's what I did...

The image is Flowers from Cocoa and as many of you know, Cocoa is one of my favorite from SNSS.  I created a pocket using an SVG File (Library Card Holder) from Penny Duncan.  I did alter it a bit by removing the flourishes because they were much too fancy.  It's also not supposed to fold down, but I added a score line to make it a pocket.  It will have a bookmark and bookstore gift card in it for my Mom.

Here you can see the full image.  I took a tip from my friend Joni to use black behind my white cards.  It really does help bring out the colors and it looks fabulous!

And here's the fold over.  I created the sentiment on my computer.  The flowers I punched out and then ran through my Cuttlebug with the Swirls Embossing Folder.  I didn't complete the bookmark - I started making one and then my youngest son was the one to discover that it wouldn't fit in the pocket, so I am back to the drawing board on that one.

Supplies:
Card Stock:  Neenah Classic Crest Solar White, Perfect Plum, Pale Plum
Paper:  Apr 09 Free Digi Paper from Two Peas in a Bucket
Copics:  B95, BV00, BV02, BV04, RV000, RV02, RV10, W-3, Y06,
  Y15, Y17, YG03, YR16, YR20
Tools:  SVG File Penny Duncan, SCAL/Cricut, circle punches, flower punch
Embellishments:  Big Brads, Ribbon

I hope you like my pocket card.  The challenge I'm entering this in is for Just Us Girls (I'm too late to enter, but I'll share it anyway) which was to use a template.  I think the SVG holder qualifies.  I'm also entering this in Digital Tuesday Challenge which is to create anything but a card.  Since this a pocket holder, I think it qualifies there, too. Thank you for stopping by!  I hope you have a great Friday!

Card Share

Good Morning!  I love low key weekends.  Actually, today will be a little busy with laundry to get done and Hollyanne has a dance class this afternoon.  But I decided to treat the kids to dinner at a favorite (and cheap) place.  But Saturday was cold and rainy and a great day to stay in my craft room!

Last night Busy Beauties Boutique had a release party and I scored a free image from the sweet, sweet Carolyn.  So I set out to play.  I also discovered that I could join her challenge, too.  Although, I don't think my card turned out like rubbish, there are LOTS of scraps that should've been thrown away, involved.

I followed the sketch from The Sweet Stop.  I think this is probably the first time I've ever played along with their challenge and not used a Sweet n Sassy image.  I think it's OK, just this once.  Ha!  I also added blossoms which fits the Our Creative Corner challenge.  And as I mentioned, it fits Busy Beauties Creation Station challenge using bits of scrap papers and ribbon.

Supplies:
Card Stock:  Neenah Classic Crest Solar White, Basic Black (SU!) and Black (Bazzil)
Paper:  Tempting Turquoise (SU!)
Copics:  B000, B00, B02, BV00, BV02, C8, E53, E57, RV000, RV02, RV10,
  Y06, Y11, Y15
Stamps:  Tweet Hello from TAC
Tools:  SVG cut from Penny Duncan Creations, SCAL/Cricut, Martha Stewart border punch, 3/4" & 7/8"
  circle punches
Embellishments:  ribbon, prima flowers, gemstones

I hope you like my card.  I want to thank Carolyn for giving me such an adorable image to play with.  Thank you so much for stopping by.  I hope your Sunday is a blessed one.

Double Feature

Good Morning!  Happy Saturday!  I'm excited to be off this weekend.  It'll be a busy weekend, but I am happy to just be home and with my kids.

I just finished up a couple of cards that I want to share with you.  The first card is for Inktegrity's Sketch Challenge blog.  This was a fun sketch and I was able to incorporate another great SVG cut from Penny Duncan Creations.

When I was on Inktegrity's design team, it was a great privilege to have access to Joni's awesome images.  Well, as the winter team was leaving we got to request an image.  I chose a unicorn, but fellow DT member Jeanette picked a flamingo.  This is actually my first opportunity to play with Rico.

Supplies:
Card Stock:  Neenah Classic Crest Solar White, Pink Passion, Green Galore, Gable Green
Copics:  C8, E53, E57, RV000, RV02, RV10, RV13, YG00, YG03
Tools:  SCAL/Cricut, Spellbinders ribbon labels, Cuttlebug Folder Candy Stripes
Embellishments:  buttons

This next card is for several challenges.  I played along with Friday Sketchers (the sketch), Fussy and Fancy Friday Challenge (Quote me), Raise the Bar (Color Me Happy).

I followed the sketch from Friday Sketchers, using a wonderful quote by John Leonard "It takes a long time to grow an old friend," and my favorite color is purple.... and polka dots. This card features Nora on a Swing from CC Designs.

Supplies:
Card Stock:  Neenah Classic Crest Solar White, Lavender Lace
Paper:  Colorbok
Copics:  BV00, BV02, BV04, B000, E00, E02, E37, E53, E57, Y11,
  Y15, YG03, YG95, YR20, YR61
Prismacolor Markers:  Goldenrod, Colorless Blender
Tools:  Nestabilities, Swiss Dots Cuttlebug folder
Embellishments:  Pearls by Recollections

I hope you enjoyed by double feature today.  Thank you so much for stopping by!

Fabulous Friday

Wow - it's Friday and I actually got to play along with another challenge.  This time I followed the challenge from All That Scraps Wednesday challenge - which was to sew on your card.  My machine still isn't working, so I hand-stitched this one.  I am so pleased with how this turned out.

The adorable image is from the Spring Pixie kit from All That Scraps.  It's funny, I have two boys but I rarely do any boy cards.  This image just happened to fit exactly what I started out to do.  Let me tell you about my little journey.

I found a blog called Penny Duncan Creations.  If you haven't visited her, YOU MUST!  This woman is amazing with her digital creations.  She has SVGs, digi-images, tutorials.  Anyway, I found her blog and was enthralled  by her projects.  I downloaded some of her free SVG files and immediately set out to make a card.  I started with her SVG cut which is the lacy mat beneath the Pixie image.  Then I cut a rectangle to fit inside the mat.  That just happened to be the perfect size for the stamp.  Well, I originally cut the green mat as a test... it just happened to match the colors of some new buttons I picked up from the $1 bin at Michaels.  I love when things just fall into place to create an adorable card!

Supplies:
Card Stock:  Neenah Classic Crest Solar White, Mellow Moss, Brocade Blue
Copics:  E00, E02, Y15, Y17, B95, B97, G99, YG95, E29, E37, E57, B000
Prismacolor Marker:  Goldenrod
Embellishments:  buttons, Diamond Stickles
Tools:  needle, thread, SCAL/Cricut, SVG by Penny Duncan, paper piercing mat pack

Thanks for stopping by today!  I'm glad you came.
