Playing catch up...

Good Morning! This has not been a good week for me... I guess it was if I were on a roller coaster, but I don't recall getting on that ride! Anyway, enough on that subject.

Joni released this image on Tuesday and I am just barely getting to post it! This is Emmett's Jeep and it's way cool, however, when I looked at it I saw a little boy's birthday card.


I kept it very simple. No embellishments to pose a choking hazard. And guess what, you can actually mail this card with only ONE stamp. LOL Seems that any card I make requires an extra 20 cents for hand-canceling.

Do you see the license plate? I personalized it. When I imported the image into my word document, I simply drew a text box over that space and added my own personalization. Cute and simple!

Thursdays with Lindsay

Good Morning! I hope you're week is going well, it's on the downhill slide now.

This week's Thursdays with Lindsay card features some awesome images from her Doodle Flower collection. I love this collection - it screams paper piecing! One of my favorite techniques. The dragonfly and the sentiment are also included in the collection and you can find that here.


I also followed a couple of challenges. The first is The Pink Elephant which was to use Pink to honor Ella - it's her birthday. And the other is Crafts 4 Eternity which is the sketch, use something clear and do an inking technique.


This image shows a close up of the paper piecing and the inking technique I did. I don't own circle Nesties, so I developed my own way of creating this faux mat technique using my old Creative Memories circle cutters. I used Pink Pirouette ink.


Here's a close up of my clear element. I punched out a heart from a transparency and then to tie in the button that is the center of the flower, I added another button over the heart. This also effectively hides the glue dots.

Sweet Sketch Wednesday #35

Good Morning! I hope you're having a sweet week so far. Arlana has another great sketch to share this week and we have another fabulous sponsor. This week, we have Tracey from The Stamping Boutique joining us. She has some really wonderful images, too!!

So here's the sketch we're working with:


This was a little challenging for me, but then I saw what the other girls on the team did with it and I have to say that every time I looked at one I had to slap myself in the forehead. Why hadn't I thought of that...! Gave myself a headache with all that slapping! But this is what I came up with:



I am totally in love with is butterfly image. I think it's so beautiful. So I used an embossing border from Cuttlebug to created the vertical lines and then just some simple strips of card stock for the horizontal lines. The image is colored with Copics and then just a touch of stickles.


Here's a photo of dimension I added to this card. I accomplished this by printing the image twice and cut out what I wanted popped up.

Good Morning...

I did flip my own sketch, it was the only way to accommodate this little cutie. This is a Kiki La Rue image by CC Designs and Kelly carries these adorable stamps in her store. I created this card from a kit that I'd recently received in a swap and I just adore the colors and all the polka dots!! She is colored with Copics and I really love the different look that is achieved when the base is Vanilla card stock. The image reminds me of my Mom. When I was little she used to drive me to school, or go to the grocery store with curlers in her hair. I cringed every time. LOL

New Release at Inktegrity

Good Morning everyone,

Happy February 1st. I don't have a card to share with you today but there are some adorable new releases rolling out over at Inktegrity. This first is Bella's Truck...

You can see adorable samples being shared by Sheri and LJ that are featured on the Inktegrity blog. Also send some happy thoughts and get well wishes to the Wilson family who have been struck by a stomach bug. I talked to her yesterday and at that point, it had only affected the girls. Now it sounds like everyone got it.

Sweet Blogger Award

Hi all,

I received an award today from the very sweet Janice. I honestly, as a rule, don't post these. It's not that I don't appreciate them, they do make me smile when I receive an award - but to me, these are a special gift to be treasured privately. But today I post them because there are 5+ people in my life that I'd like to give a little shout out to, and they don't necessarily have blogs to post these on to continue the chain.



I'm supposed to share 10 things that make me happy...

1. My faith in God. I claim His promises everyday and although sometimes its very hard to wait on Him, He doesn't let me down in the long run.
2. My children. They are amazing!
3. My family - for their unending support.
4. My friends - for their unending support.
5. My crafts, although my craft room isn't a place I've wanted to be lately but I pray the current trial in my life will resolve itself and I can be myself again.
6. Books - there's nothing happier than curling up with a good book, a blanket and a glass of white zinfandel.
7, 8, 9 & 10 - I'll have to get back to this someday.

Now I'm supposed to tag 5 friends and this is where I wanted to give my shout-out.

Joni Wilson - one of my dearest, most respected friends who is a constant source of inspiration to me, a shoulder to cry on when I need it and I know my name is always mentioned in her prayers.

Gabby Arriaza - another dear friend that I've never met. LOL Gabby is a cyber-friend and I feel like I've know her my whole life. Her unending support for me is very appreciated.

Quickie Card

Good Morning! I'm really hoping I hear good news today!!

I made a super quick 3x3 gift card that my youngest son tells me he needs for tomorrow. Ugh! I've not been feeling well as it is, so crafting has been my lowest of priorities. *GASP!*


No frills - just a little bit of ribbon. I had such grander ideas to use Sammy the Seal with, but this was all I could come up with on such short notice. This seal has the trademark sweet face that Joni's images are known for. I created the sentiment which is almost too big, but as I said, I had grander plans. The base is So Saffron and the scalloped mat is Bordering Blue. With just a touch of color to his bow and a bit of shading on his body - this was super quick and super simple.
